Ok folks! To those of you who saw my off subject posts about Kaworu/Shinji, now is your time to rant about it! Do you like it? Hate it? Do you think Kaworu was actually in love with Shinji, or was just showing shinji love? Please to God (not to be confused with theMessaiah) don't go on extreme tangents about how ICKYGrOsSiTBuRnSes! or/YUMMYYUMMYSUPEREXTREMEHOTNUMSHOUSNESS! I don't think it'll get out of hand with "I don't like that so much..." or "Yes, I think it's great! ^___^ yum! Enjoy!

My thoughts on this, is Kaworu doesn't have a grasp on sexuality. I think he loves Shinji as a person, making out with him/sexing him up has not crossed his mind yet. It's almost a childlike love of Shinji as we see it in the series. I think had Kaworu lived though, and developed urges of the primal kind, he would be the type of person open enough to be bisexual or whatnot and love Shinji that way.

Kaworu is not gay. But I would still do him heart gonk

And ya, As per what Yuri stated, I dont think he's gay. But I do think he's cute with Shinji... just because.

And no...I'm not just saying that to satisfy the fact that I am somewhat fangirlish over pairing Rei and Kaworu. razz

I see Kaworu to be a mirrored image of Rei, so alike and yet polar opposites. Sexuality really doesn't seem to play a role in that.

Rei admits to Shinji that she doesn't know what to feel or what to do when she sees him crying. I think she is perfectly capable of emotion but she doesn't know how to express herself. She is so limited because she does simply what she is told to do.

Kaworu on the other hand...well...he's known as the "Angel of Free Will" for a reason. He is not restrainted by the rules of society and expresses his feelings as he pleases. If someone needs comforting, he is not afraid of embarrassment and he comforts them. To the eyes of others, he may come off as being very forward and perhaps even rude! (asking all those personal questions)

Either way...Rei and Kaworu do not fit in with the other kids. Rei could be the most introverted character in the series. Kaworu could be the most extroverted. Even more then Asuka....when she first showed up she wasn't exactly asking personal questions or invading your space bubble unprovoked (except to slap you in the face for looking at her panties). Rei is usually very melancholy. Kaworu seems to be wearing a constant smile (or smirk). Both are softspoken and never raise their voices.

Both have a connection with Shinji. Rei reminds him very much of his mother (for obvious reasons). Kaworu was kind to him. I think he really did love Shinji. Not as a lover, but as family...something his father (see where I'm going?) was never able to give him. I think Shinji being open to Kaworu and talking about the relationship he has with his father, something he has never told anyone else about AND the vision of Kaworu and Rei standing side by side talking to him towards the end of EoE is something to notice.

I didn't really see Kaworu as gay or not gay. He's just Kaworu. I think he loved/sympathized/cherished Shinji. Whether they had sex is inconsequental to me. Though, I do admit, it would've been hot.

I think Noir is just extremely slashable, no evidence. At least not so far. Lang or Sybrid can attest to that, not me. gonk


I think Shinji is messed up enough to take love any place he can get it. Including a male neutral

That little "Is this better... Shinji-kun?" thing was, indeed, a little awkward. Shinji looked as if he were on some kind of pleasure inducing narcotic after hearing that.

In all fairness; He was just utterly confused, and desperate for belonging and affection.
Such is the case with a lot of people in a similar position.

Kaworu was the only person that focused solely on him, gave him attention, confidence and acceptance.
Even if it was only for a very short period of time, it had a very large impact on Shinji's life, and on Shinji as a person.
Had he not met Kaworu, the 'fate of mankind' in "End of Evangelion" would surely not have turned out in the "favorable" way that it did.

(ie: Shinji choosing "Free will", and giving that same choice to the rest of humanity.")

So it seems that most people disagree with the suggestion of Kaworu and Shinji being 'gay', which is good.
Because if they did believe that, then they'd have missed the intent of those few interactions.


And to Vergessener Held or Yuri, whoever;
Noir is just VERY heavily hinted.
Although, most of it was intended to be taken as a 'strong friendship' kind of theme.

Noir was very much about the depth of bonds and interactions between people, and the eventual growth of trust and dependance, and growth as an individual.
I can agree that some of the scenes, thoughts, and lines did seem a little overly played on, but those had to account for different character personalities, and cultural backgrounds.

The only real inuendo you can take seriously, was on Chloe's part for, I take it you've seen the series, very obvious reasons...

But, I'm almost positive that was a very intended aspect to how she was raised, or trained, as a 'sappling'.
