Decendants of the dragons, the Sar'kaan (or dragon-kin) are close to nature and wise beyond their years. They are often druids and shamans or warriors and always shy away from dealing with the realms of the dead. Occassionally a warlock crops up but they are often shunned and live on the outskirts of the tribes. Nomadic in nature and prone to wanderings, the Sar'kaan form loose 'packs' among their tribe that are often connected by blood. The live primarily in the Grand Desert and during the Sumar'iss (the great storm) they migrate underground to the Ner'an Caves.

The Great Desert to the north, with its swirling desert storms every three years, is called home by one of the inhabitants of Seron, the Sark'aan. A nomadic tribe, the Sark'aan often move from place to place, as to not drain away the resources of one place or oasis, ensuring that when they return, it will still remain to be teeming with life. The Sumar'iss, a string of simultaneous sand storms throughout the region, force the Sark'aan to retreat to their underground caverns to wait out the passing storms. Because of this continuous occurrence (once every three years), the homes of the Sark'aan are made out of hides and leather, easily to be taken down in a moments' notice.

Descendants of dragon heritage, the Sark'aan are wise beyond their years, and have a firm understand of nature and its magics. Falling on the shoulders of warriors, druids, and shamans, the Sark'aan people try to live in peace, though as of late, it has been more of an ideal than a practicality. The druids using their unique attunement to nature, they have been able to snare beasts within tangling roots, while the shamans have been able to conjure fire and ice from the burning ashes of fires and from the frigid air. Warriors trained in the way of the axe, bow, and staff, they have nearly created a religion, and definitely a way of life, for their castes to live by.

Believing the everything in the world possesses a spirit of its own, the Sark'aan are extremely adept in combining the herbs from the lands to conjure up any necessity that they may need, whether in life or in battle. With a series of sacred pools close to the fringe lands between the Grand Desert and the forests, the Sark'aan have always maintained a tradition of spiritual rights and the worshipping of their fallen ancestors in battles and strives past. However, with recent conflicts, the Sark'aan have begun to fear losing their physical connection to the spirit realm, and as such, have found themselves fighting in earnest for one of the first times in their history.

While the Sar'kaan (Sar) are nomads, they are a matriarchal society that follows a wise Seer by the name of Tumer'al (her true name has been forgotten). No one really knows how old she is but it is said she has refused her final Path and so is still in 'young adult' form (which is possible). They wander around the Great Desert and set up camp following the oasis that dot around the area. They can't stay at any other the Oasis for long or it will dry out.

In the desert, one can often find openings to The Ner'an Caves under the dunes. The ancient caves span almost all the desert and is a safe haven as well as being full of artifacts and pieces of their past. The Great Desert has many legends and mysteries. Some would say the Desert was created by divine intervention, others might say the wind blew too hard, but none of the stories are actually correct. The desert is mysterious in it's form and creation and superstitions reign.
