I made this topic so that I could disguss alignment problems and policies. (Sorry for making so many topics people this is the last one, I promise.)

And snece I made the topic for a reason I will go ahead and explain myself. I have a story arch based around how twisted the world can be. (yes it's like all of my storylines.) And in my story line I have a king who has forced my adventurers to do his bidding. (they are evil.) he and his two advisors, which are twins, are week as humans so I need a boost for them. I have long planned for the king to be a doppelganger but I thought that perhapse I could make his twin advisors an imp and a quasit. However, this requires them to be good or at the bare minimum neutral. So my question is this, can I change the alignment of these extremely evil creatures or is that taking the leniencies the book gives me a step to far?

Most alignments found in the monster manual are for general purposes. Any evil creature can be good and vice versa. Just make a good background for it, one way to explain it, it was born this way. Or it accidentally wore the Helm of Opposite Alignment.

The DMG says that you can override any decision made in the books. Therefore, you're not doing anything wrong with them, you're just changing the world to your will.(and if that's not what DMing is about, what is?)

But Dimitri is right; they should have a reason for their alignment. Unless, somehow they were born into that alignment. But because alignments can changed, that'd just be plain stupid... stare Well, one way or another, they might have been... I don't know... raised that way? sweatdrop Either way, I'm sure that you'll figure something out.

Humans can be powerful.

"Down with the Elves, humans are great themselves!"

Humans can be powerful.

::holds up sign with pro-human slogans::

"Down with the Elves, humans are great themselves!"

In fact, Humans are probably the most powerful besides the Half-Elfs. Humans are EVERYWHERE and they are EVERYTHING. Humans are all, while ignore the none. Humans are the most amazing of creatures, featured in a number of classes, alignments, and personalities. They are general, ignoring the specific. Constantly changing, shaping into something else. Humans are greatest of the great. Yay for humans!!!

Elves are chaotic, but it doesn't seem that they've changed there tradition in hundreds of years. Why is that? question question question Isn't that ironic, hypocritical, or contrary? Let's take a vote! talk2hand

I'm just partial to the gray elves because they seem more lawful to me and less "Let's dance and sing and grab each other's bums" like certain other elves are...

I think elves are chaotic because they are free spirits who are opposed to tyranny and don't have many harsh laws and such. Chaotic isn't necessarily a bad thing.

For the record, I have nothing against elves, i just wanted to see what Glo would say when I said they like touching each other's bums blaugh 3nodding blaugh
