I was just wondering, of all the people here, who would go into a used bookstore and buy some books? I haven't seen any used book stores in my neighborhood before, so I don't have any experience when it comes to buying used books. But if it's a book that I like, and if its not at all expensive then I would definitely buy it.

Used books are possibly the best things to ever grace the earth. You can find out-of-print and hard-to-find items, they're cheap, and they smell nice. >_<
You can also entertain yourself late at night by trying to figure the causes of stains on the pages. xd

I'm a sucker for used books. I can't walk past a charity shop if there are some enticing boxes of books for me to browse through. There's nothing better than picking up books you've wanted to read for ages for only 50p =D.

I love going into used bookstores and browsing through all the old and out-of-print titles. There is nothing better on this world.

I love used books, because they are already worn in, and I don't have to fold the book as much. And they smell so good. They are so cheap.

I love browsing through as a rule but I don't buy books I haven't read yet because if I didn't like them then they would take up the precious little space I have for things in my room. But book used book stores a great place to get books and I never pass one with out looking through atleast a few!

Many used bookstores also offer trades. You bring in books you no longer want and they'll give you store credit for them. So you trade in an old book for..well another old book but one that is new to you. It helps keep clutter down but your mind active.
You can find some really gorgeous old bound books with illustrations or crazy wacky books that you can't imagine anyone every buying. Bookstores are a blessing and should be treated as such.

I think that getting a used book is ok as long as it is not a piece of crap that has writing and coffee stains all on it!

I went shopping this past week for new clothes and accessories with my mother. On the way we passed a used book store. As soon as I cried out "Book World" my mother immediately parked the car. It was great! I spent a fair amount of time in there and discovered that they do the store credit option for bringing in your own used. I purchased a few, although I'm sure I could have used all of the money I had brought with me for that day! Later we stopped at the Goodwill in mother's quest for possibly finding bubble glass frames there, and I find even more books to buy! It's been used book heaven this past week.
I shall not mention the rows and rows of of books at an antiques shop we also visited. whee

I bought a used copy of The Phantom of the Opera while I was in Maine, and my little brother walked around flipping the pages and sniffing it. O____O
It was two bucks, though. And great entertainment.

It was two bucks, though. And great entertainment. Oh, I wouldn't mind having a copy of that book! I read it during an accelerated reader competition we had in high school and enjoyed it.
