Umm, has anyone read or heard of Donald Walsh (i think its Walsh) and his three books about "conversation with God"?
He claims to have just picked up a pen and his hand started to write by itself. He says that his books are a message from God, and it's sort of a conversation where the author asks God questions and Gon answers or they have great discussions about great questions.

I don't know what to think of these books, or the author or whether these books are indeed what he claims that they are... But I have read the first book (at least the main parts in it) and it certainly is very fascinating!
I'm not entirely convinced that it is a conversation with God, but the more I read, the more I start to doubt that it isn't, actually.

I would appreciate some comments from you guys...

i've just recently had a discussion about the idea of modern day prophets. and i think that may apply here.

if what they are saying conflicts with the Bible, it's trouble. they may claim to be hearing from God. but God isn't going to say something that will contradict himself.

i haven't read the book myself mind you. so i really don't know. but. that's what i think when i read that kinda stuff. be cautious.

Yes, it's bad if the book contradicts the Bible, you are so right. But these books don't discuss the Bible itself, so it is hard to compare the teachings... In these books the author asks "God" all the questions that he wanted answers for in life, and then he gets them explained, answered and/or discussed. And, I mean, the more I read, the less I start to doubt the book. Cause it all souds so good...
But, like you said, I have to be cautious. That's one of the reasons I posted here, because comments from you help me in this matter, whether you have read the books in particular or not.
