As far as I know there are no Civilians in Atlantis so this applies to other planets we will come in contact with. the other categories apply to other planets as well. Those will start later on since the only alien race in Atlantis are the Athosians (Teyla's race) and Teyla is the only one of them that goes through the gate.

Back Story: Back when Joseph was 15 he volunteered to search for a kidnapped girl that was constantly shown on TV and every other media. After a short interview with the mother (the last person to be with her) he set out a small team of his friends to areas he considered advantageous in such a situation. He got a call from one of his friends and imediately found the kidnaper. Sadly it was too late for the girl. Soon after he enlisted in the military, took the training and after serving decided to go to the Search and Rescue division. He coordinated SAR missions during war times, his expertise made him invaluable for the SGC program. He refused the first time it was proposed to him but joined soon after his mother passed away.

Back Story: Ilania's parents died when she was very young from an illness that was killing most of the tribe. The elders took her and a few more of the young ones that seemed to be ok to the mountains. Usually the mountains are avoided because they get very cold at night. She lived 3 years in the mountains learning to keep warm and to hunt. She had a passion from climbing trees. As a little kid she thought that if she climbed high enough she could meet her parents again. Her ability to hunt was pretty good so she became part of the hunters. Hunters and farmers are the ones responsible for the tribe's food resources.

Equipment: Standard SGC gear with the exception of a Zat as a sidearm
Talents: A soldier through and through Ken is experienced in combat, expert in various forms of combat. With his experience with the SGC Ken's specialty has become going through the gate under fire for extractions.
Back Story: A Canadian born soldier of the USAF, Ken has gone through extensive special operations training and has served as a relief officer for SG teams. As a relief officer Ken has been able to serve with many SG teams and learn from some experienced SG team leaders. When the Atlantis program was created Ken volunteered to finally gain a permanent assignment involving the Stargate.

Equipment:M4/M203 SOPMOD with silencer, Tactical vest with ammo pockets, M4 ammo, M203 grenades, M67 Fragmentation grenades and Smoke grenades, SGC issue Berreta with ammo, laser sight and silencer, a staff weapon a Goa'uld rebel gave him as a gift, and a combat knife.
Talents:Alien tech, Infiltration, weapons expert(Goa'uld) Medic-qualified, Sniper-trained.
Back Story:First joined the SGC at 18 straight out of basic and went with the field units of the US Army's SGC units. He helped bring back Doctor Fraiser's body when she was KIA during a rescue op. He then requested training as a special operations soldier and went to Fort Bragg to begin his training. After graduating the traning as the 2nd youngest soldier to complete SpecOps training he served again with the SGC before being transferred to the Atlantis outpost to help there. He hopes that his skills as an Airborne Ranger and as a soldier will help the Atlantis crew defend against the Wraith. He is also somewhat knowledgable about alien tech as he has managed to shorten the Staff weapon he owns into more manageable size. He wants to be able to retire knowing that he did his best to help protect something and will do his utmost within orders to do so. He got his nickname of "Black Sheep" because he does not act like a typical soldier. It was an affectionate nickname from members of his SGC unit and it has stuck with him ever since.

Appearance:small, pale, whitish hair, very pale blue eyes, no musle structure. very bony look with no threat ion sight.
Clothing: a uniform he ops to wear for his own personal reasons, white with gold buttens silver cuffs with gold buttens, occationaly will waer a black turtle neck with blue jeans.
Equipment: flash light, laptop, backpack(large can be used as a pak mule)small handgun her found on a dead body upon arivalsmall bottles of mental stablizers for his "condition".
Talents: abilty to feel somones fear or presense, when his brain becomes unstable any number of reasons(emotional stress, fear, depression esc.)he goes into a unemotional state wear any live creture around him will go into a state of shock killing it on a rang of about 5 meters, in worst cases the cretures main organs will expload from stress, this is called nucular, needs mind stapalizers to stopp this.(every second his brain cells expload so he cant be in this state long before he dies him self.)
Back Story: a trumatized child in a world he doesent understand, has been the subject to a unloving fathers trikery and experiments, was forced by his father through a gate for another exoeriment, hates self pron to extrem emotional stress, fears being alone or unloved, hides behind others.
