Name your favorite DCI band and arrangement (the band doesnt have to have preformed it) and why
DCI- Madison scouts because they take control of the field and leave your ears ringing...they play with such power and elegance its awsome to listen to Arrangement-The planets *mars especially because our high school band plays it for a warm up...and its a jaw dropper for other bands passing by* Mask of Zorro too, just because we are playing it next year

Top 3 DCI Corps:
1) Blue Devils - Easy for me...that horn line is legendary...I love the traditional Jazzy style of the corps. I saw their Godfather show a couple weeks ago here in San Diego and, though there is still some cleaning that has to happen, it was AWESOME!!! I hope to march contra with them after I graduate for the '08 season
2) The Cavaliers - I dont know...every show I've ever seen of theirs just blows me away. This corps never fails to entertain and amaze me, and I cant wait to see their show entitled "Machine", although I prolly wont get to see it live *tear*.
3) Phantom Regiment - Always an awesome corps, I will always argue in favor of them in the ages-old debate of 1989 between them and Vanguard...the New World Symphony Show is the best EVER! Although the Vanguard's "Phantom" show won it, I personally dont see how Phantom lost it...
Top 5 DCI Shows:
1) 1989 Phantom Regiment: New World Symphony - As I explained before, this is my favorite show OF ALL TIME! I listen to this show every day...I still dont understand how they lost out to SCV...
2) 1997 Blue Devils: As Time Goes By - The 1st place show of 1997 is a masterpiece of sound and visual acheivement by the corps...this show is one of the reasons they top my list of favortie corps
3) 2002 Cavaliers: Frameworks - Another show I listen to day in and day out...instant classic, need I honestly say more?
4) 2003 Blue Devils: The Phenomenom of Cool - The first DCI show i ever watched got me hooked to this stuff like crack...had to be on the list
5) 1989 Santa Clara Vanguard: Phantom of the Opera - Even though I think New World SYmphony was better, this show was still amazing in so many ways...the company front at the end during "Music of the Night" always gives me goosebumps...
Honorable Mention: 1999 Madison Scouts: Jesus Christ Superstar - This show is so entertaining, I had to at least mention it...anyone who has seen it knows what I'm talking about...

Madison Scouts have me. My band director composes music that comes from their shows, and all of our three songs this year are from Madison Scouts. I've got recordings of each of them, and the rest of the show they played in.

I'm going to copy you, MYSTERIO9008; okay?
My top "3" favorite DCI corps
#1: Phantom Regiment they rock, and you gotta root for the home team! Plus, my band just had a trumpet player join their numbers. Also, they're trumpet tech (I think) taught my band. He's not teaching us anymore through. He's going to school for is Doctorite in Nursing. Doctor Nurse Jeff! #1A: Santa Clara (there's a tie!) I loved their 1989 show; it rocks my socks! I also really liked...Sharazad (sp? I think that's the name of the show anyway...)
#2: The Cavaliers. Have you seen their guard spin. Oh, if only I were a man!
#3: The Velvet Knights. If it's part of your uniform to wear red converse, you're cool in my book. Plus, their shows are hilarious!
4 years ago my band did "New World Symphony." They did really well with it (I was an 8th grader at the time) made it to finales in state, I forget what they placed, though. They took 1st in quater finales, though...

This was my first time ever seeing a DCI show live, and I was amazed, of course.
I'd have to say Southwind, and their show for this year, Duality. Of course, I'm friends with a couple members, so that may bias my opinion.
They're all amazing, though.

Erm...........THE CADETS- AMAAAAAAZING! AMAAAAAAAZING AMAAAAAAZING!!!!!!!
CAVALIERS! I tried seeing information on how to join, next day, I found out it was an all male band. Drats! But Mysterio? I'm pretty sure thats the 03' show, "FrameWorks". And i have to agree with you, ITS AAAAAAAAAAAMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZIIIIIIIIIING!!!!!!!!!! GAAAAAAAAH~ not sure about "Machine" but I listened to some more of the music and it sounded promising.
CANNOT WAIT FOR BLUE DEVILS!!!!! GAAAAAH! GODFATHER!?!? THE GODFATHER!??! WHO CAN GET THE RIGHTS TO THAT?!?!? blue devils can! razz
And then....I think it was the 89' show, but I LOVE LOVE LOOOOOOVE the music they used, Crossmen? I think so. But gah, I might be able to volunteer at the DCI show coming up in two days, I just have to get word so yeah. But DCI? amazin' maaaaan, amazin'. I really want to march with either Blue Devils or The Cadets. I think I'm leaning more on with the Cadets.

I haven't seen any of the DCI, but we were supposed to. (Didn't happen).
WOW, we played Mars last year as part of our show (we went to state, WOO) and the Mask of Zorro the year before that (bad year).

I love DCI. This is the first year I'm really following the season as it progresses, but I love to watch old shows.
My top 3 corps would be:
1. Phantom Regiment- They have the best (or very close to the best) music every year, and after all, if there was no music, what are you really left with?
2. The Cavaliers- Amazing group. The pure athleticism of their shows amazes me. They have the most complex, fast-paced drill of any corp out there and they execute it at the highest level.
3. Santa Clara Vanguard- They always have a great show. They are very fun to watch and they pick great music.
Honorable mentions go to the Bluecoats and the Glassmen, two other great corps.
Aunty J, "Frameworks" was the 2002 Cavaliers show. 2003 was "Spin Cycle". Both are very good.
My favorite shows of this year (that I've seen) are Phantom Regiment, The Glassmen, and the Blue Devils. All three are very good.

I loved (i think it was in 1994) when Santa Clara played "Fiddler on the Roof" because the pit and color guard did such a great job making the sound and dance choreography seem so much like the movie. And the marching coordinates were so awesome because they made so many Jewish symbols perfectly!
I also got to watch a DCI show this month as a field trip with a summer band i joined. My favorite this year is Pacific Crest because their theme was very serious and fun at the same time.

haha the only reason i found out about Santa Clara doing it in '94 is because I was in my school's musical when they did "Fiddler on the Roof" and I was also in marching band, so my friend found it online and I fell in love heart sweatdrop

I've never been to DCI. I was going to go to it this year with some of the other band members because it was being held in Atlanta Georgia but my Band Director canceled the trip because our synphonic band is going to be taking a trip to Atlanta later this schol year. crying
