Fedha was a little grouchy on the dim evening,
he'd been growing and he knew it. But he was
also putting on a little weight, which he was
not happy with at all. Never in his short life
had he been pudgey, he thought these things
weren't supposed to work in this manner any-
how. Cubs lost their cub fat, when they had it.
They did not gain cub fat as they grew! It
was almost a little amusing, how insacure he felt
about his new found pudge.

He sighed softly, body swaying with a feminine
graze that obviously came from Fedha watching
either of his two mothers. He was headed not
for his rock on the evening, but for one of the
many shrinking pools in the pride land. He did
not want to go there for swimming, and not to
quench any sort of thirst, he'd thought it would
be nice to look at though. His tail flicked, and he
forced his thoughts away from himself and his
growing state, letting new thoughts come at
random. Mostly they were of his family, or small
annoyances (often the two were related). Often
though, thoughts of another cub entered his
mind. He shook his head and huffed.

*Sitting upon Fedha’s rock, Ausi sat still, eyeing out past the mist lands. She would wait here, knowing that the light coated male would come around sooner or later. This was after all, his rock, so she assumed that he would come back to it-- or hoped that he would. Twitching her ears she sighed and looked up at the sky, dry and cold. The soft bleu from above reminded her of Fedha’s eyes, mmm, odd. The day that he had left her, he father had come to take her home, and he was rather upset about it too. Being alone and all. With a soft sigh the dark female stood up and circled her sitting place, before sitting down again her tail inching along her hind paws. Today was a slow day, but she hopped for the best.*

Once he got the the small pond he found
himself severely disappointed. It was very
dried up, which kind of made him nervous.
Were all of the other lakes, ponds, et cetra,
like this? He shook his head slowly, shutting
his eyes a moment. He didn't get much
sleep the past few nights, he'd been having
troubling dreams. He could even feel
something dreadful spilling through the
wind's current. With slow steps he pulled
himself away from the water, moving through
the woods.

He thought of a few interesting places to go,
but predictably his paws led him slowly back
to his rock. Once he spotted Ausi though he
let a small growl enter his throat. "Why are
you here?" He called out, continuing to move
forward, toward her and his rock.

"I was waiting for you."

*She called back, eyed him down. Her smile crossed her maw as she turned to the side slightly, using her teeth to withdraw something that she had set beside her. Within her maw lay a tiny bleu stone, the hue was so similar to Fedha’s eye color. She placed in down before herself and sat back.*

"I found this, and well, Its for you. I can assume that you won’t want it, but by telling you that if you don’t it won’t bother, I am hoping that my not caring will make you want it."

*She smiled brightly, eyeing down at the stone. Her father had found a cave full of them! And when he fell in-love with her mother he gave her one. The little cub just liked the color. With a soft sigh she eyed him again and spoke. He looked a bit odd today, bigger...?*

"What are you doing today?"

He eyed the stone for a moment, then looked
away as if expressing no interest in it what-so-
ever. He'd look at it more closely when she was
gone, probably. He pulled himself onto the rock,
watching her a moment. Waiting for him, pah. No
one ever waited for him to show up in a place.
Not ever. He sat himself down, somewhat away
from her and her gift stone. He let his tail slowly
curl about his paws, his body hunched just slightly.
No longer did he sit with such grace as he had
those odd number of days ago, he still felt awkward.
Though hunching like that just drew more attention
toward it.

"I was doing a bit of exploring, looking at the
different watering holes." He thought about not
asking her what she was doing, but then figured
that it wouldn't hurt. "What about you?"

"Well, I was waiting for you, for a while. Right now I'm doing nothing productive."

*Ausi smiled brightly and licked her left paw, purring almost as the light sun raze hit her backside. Her soft bleu orbs fixed upon his slightly changed form, before she spoke.*

"You look... different. You gained weight? Eating more?"

*Well, to hell with being forward, eh? With a soft c**k of the brow the little female studied him, before eyeing him once more. He seemed different... what was it?*

Pretty much what he already knew. His tail
gave a small flick and his eyes followed her
tongue a moment as she licked at her paw.
You look... different. His ears perked up
and his gaze flicked to meet her own. Suddenly
his fur began to prickle though, while she
continued her thoughts. Gained weight?
Fedha let out a little hiss, shifting his body. "I...
I.. No." He said, stiffly and promptly looked
away, feeling embaressed. He wasn't eating
more, he was eating the same dammit!

This wasn't fair, he didn't like being made to
feel awkward. "Y...you've just been eating less.
Or something. I'm the same.. you're just..
skinnier." He muttered out, in hopes of saving
his own chubby a**. Too bad what he'd said didn't
make sense.

"Oh just shut up." He snapped, though she
hadn't said anything through his explanation. "I
don't like you waiting for me here. Didn't you make
friends yet or something?" Though part of him did
like the fact she'd waited here.

"I think you look better this way... thats all."

*Frowning slightly at his words the young cub winkled her nose and smirked, relaxing her back muscles. Ausi's soft gaze fell from him and to her paws as he verbally attacked her. So what if she had no other real friends, wasn't one enough? She had family, they were like friends... right? Pulling her ears back, as if to indicate that she was upset the darker coated cub stood up and pawed at the stone that she had gave him, before flicking it off of the rock and into a patch of dry grass.

She pulled her sight away from him and pushed herself to jump off of the large rock that they rested upon. If he didn't like he waiting she wouldn't, and if he didn't like her around then she would leave. She was simple, yet very hard to read. With a soft sigh she spoke out to him, turning her back to him.*

"I'd like to think that one friend is better then none at all.. Anyway, have a good day, okay?"

*In anger the darker coated cub took herself away from him, moving on and into a new direction. She was a bit hurt, but not by him. She felt bad for only having one real friend. He was really the only other cub she had, her sisters... family, her mother, father... they didn't count. Maybe she just needed to branch out? Lost in thought Ausi walked away, though still in fine sight of her male counter-part.*

Liked him better this way? He thought he
looked rediculous. But that was after seeing
himself so skinny, wasn't it? As she began
to get upset Fedha first began to get a please
look on his face, tail tip flicking to the side.
Though his gaze went immedietly to the stone
as she pawed at it, and shot to the direction it
went in, cringing just slightly.

He looked back to her as she stood and got
off of his rock. one friend. better than none.
Fedha took a deep breath, his claws flexing
lightly against the rock. He shot his eyes for a
brief moment, though it was a bad idea. A flurry
of images suddenly invaided his mind and with a
start and a gasp his eyes snapped open again.
Two Paths.

The thought quickly fled as he stood himself up,
glancing again to where the stone had fallen. He
would have to get it later. "No friends is much safer
than one friend. Several friends is safer than one
friend, too.." He didn't know why he said it, he was
trying to delay her in leaving. He wasn't sure exactly
why, just the images and the thought had something to
do with it. And they'd made him suddenly frightened,
which could be seen in his eyes. Though no other part
of him betrayed the fear.

His large paws brought him forward, his ears half
pressed back. Dammit, why did she make him so
confused? So discontent?

*Ausi's eyes laced upward as she stopped her movement, hearing him out once more. She wasn’t hurt, or mad at him, no. She felt that she should respect his wishes to be alone; he seemed to want it so. If he wanted her to stay, he would have to tell her, because Ausi didn’t know. She eyed the hill that she was about to walk down, before speaking.*

"Well, it looks like you are stuck in the middle. You can be alone, though I am here, as a friend still—but from the looks of it, I am your only friend, so you have only one... one after all is better then none. Don’t want what you have, and don’t push away what is given to you, it's selfish."

*She smiled at him and nodded. Maybe she did feel like she wanted to be here, as his friend, and maybe she felt lost, whatever this feeling was she hated walking away... but he seemed upset with her. The darker coated cub turned again and started off in her fixed direction, but before she could stop herself and turn back to him she felt the ground below her quake, and in the blink of an eye she was sent tumbling down the hill that she had been moving to, hitting her body against as few tiny rocks as she rolled down. Her tiny paws moved closer to her body and she ducked her head.

She mewed as she hit the end of the hill, rolling onto her side, next to an old log by the water fall. She seemed slightly dazed, and unable to move. Coughing softly she lay herself down, mewing softly to herself. She wanted her father right now... she wanted to feel better. Was this karma, or some sick fate? Was she being punished for walking away from him?*

He stopped when she stopped, several feet
away from her. He listened to her words a
moment and then snorted. "One is not better
than none." He repeated. Having one friend
ment only spending time with that friend, never
able to divid your time with other friends. In
the end you would be consumed by them, would
you not? He was about to explain this when
she turned to go again. But this time she fell
down the hill!

On impulse Fedha's paws carried him quickly
forward, and he moved down the hill carefully.
"Idiot!" He cried out, angry. Why did she keep
walking away like that? Look, she got hurt now.
He would not feel responsible. "Stop walking
away like that, I wasn't done talking!" He growled
out, though he'd gotten right to her were she lay,
his gaze flicking over her body to look for any hurts.
Fedha was worried! And he did feel guilty! His tail
flicked behind him though, in an irritated manner. Just
think what her parents would say if she came home
hurt and his name was mentioned. They might misjudge
the situation.

"Ooo..."

*Ausi's eyes slowly reopened as she glanced up at him, unable to really life her head. She felt sick, as if she had fallen onto her head. Dazed and slightly confused she coughed and nuzzled her head back and forth, as into make sure she could still move her neck. Ausi wasn’t bleeding or cut, but she felt sore and weak. She would need help standing and getting back onto her paws. Knowing that Fedha would have a hard time doing this himself, due to his not wanting to get to close to her, the little female spoke softly.*

"I’m sorry."

*She smiled slightly, before wincing. She would need her father. Boy was he going to be upset. She would have to explain herself this time, indeed.*

"Please, could you go get my father...? He is not too far away from your rock. Just call out the name... Akamu. He should come."

*Ausi’s tiny paws moved closer to her chest as she lay, her body limp for the time being.*

Fedha blanched. Why was she always being
so nice? It was a little sickening, to say the
least. And what was she so sorry for? His
ears flattened against his head.
Go get her dad?

He wasn't sure about getting her dad, that
might not be a good idea... He growled slightly
and huffed, turning on paw as he stalked back
up hill, fur bristling and he didn't say one word.
Dammit, she was going to pay for this. What if
her dad blamed him?

Once he got back to the rock his anger was
ebbing away, a little bit of apprehension was
filling it's place. "....Akamu? M..Mr. Akamu?" He
called out, hopping onto his rock to get a better
look around.

*Narrowing green eyes could be seen flashing as the tiny male cub spoke out. Little did the pair know, Akamu has settled himself down just far enough too hear what was going on. Though he didn’t see his cub fall, he did notice that she had disappeared from view. With massive paws the red coated male stood up and slowly made his way to the gray male. His size was twice as big as the adult Mist male, and his claws looked as though they could cut through stone. He was huge, monster size to the cub as he stood before him, glaring down at him with a slight frustration within his eyes.

Tilting his head to the side the Firekin spoke out, his tone deep and dark.*

"What happened to Ausi? She was with you a moment ago."

*So this was Ausi’s father, they held some resemblance, but as Ausi said before, she looked more like her mother then her father. His eyes laced along the tiny male cub’s form as he stood, awaiting his reply. Akamu felt uneasy, did something happen to his daughter? With narrowing eyes the male let a soft snarl pass him, as if to show his slight anger with this situation.*

The male felt his fur prickling, fluffing up
ever so slightly. His mouth was open to
give a reply, but this other made him very
nervous. He'd never met an adult, male
lion before, you have to remember.

He swallowed. "S..she sli..pped down.. a hill.."
He was still staring up, and after a moment
he came to his senses and turned slightly,
one paw gesturing in the direction. "Sh...she
can't... get up?" Oh gods, he better not be
blamed for this. He could feel himself shaking.
He was just happy no one else was around to see.
