Junior high school student dies after falling from 4th floor of her school FUKUOKA -- A junior high school student died at a hospital here on Wednesday after she fell from the fourth story of her school, police said.
The 12-year-old student, whose name is being withheld, attended a natural science class at the science room on the fourth floor of Nakama Minami Junior High School in Nakama, Fukuoka Prefecture.
After the girl said she felt ill, a teacher accompanied her to a toilet on the fourth floor. When the teacher left the toilet to contact the family of the student, the girl apparently fell from a window on the fourth floor, police said. (Mainichi)

Fraudsters net over 300 million yen in 'dream job' scam SHIZUOKA -- More than 10,000 people from across Japan were swindled out of money when they applied for a job where you could supposedly "make money by dating with quality women," police said.
Company executive Noriyuki Sato, 49, from Fuji, Shizuoka Prefecture, and two other people have been arrested for fraud for an incident in which one Shizuoka Prefecture man was cheated out of money.
Under four different company names of "Big Wave," "Paradise," "Crystal," and "Sun Academy," the three suspected fraudsters placed advertisements in adult magazines.
"Dating with rich, quality women is your job," one of their advertisements read.
When people contacted the companies, female telephone operators told them that they would earn 30,000 yen for several hours on a date with a woman and 70,000 yen for spending the night.
After job applicants paid a registration fee of 21,800 yen, the companies sent them photographs of 10 women.
The companies asked the applicants to send their personal history, saying that the information would be provided to three female customers who the men could choose. Then the companies made the applicants pay a fee of 12,000 yen to introduce three women to them, police said.
The photos of fictional female customers that the companies sent to the applicants to choose from were either those of the part-time telephone operators or cut from magazines.
However, the victims of the fraudulent operation didn't actually date with any women at all.
Police said about 10,000 apparently paid more than 300 million yen into the job scam. But only six people have filed reports with police. (Mainichi)
