In was wondering if Megatokyo would become an anime, it is a great manga that evolved from web comics. Does anyone have any news about it?

It's probly not.
Fred barely gets through the week with three comics, do you think he has he patiance to attempt anime? I higly dobut it...

Even if it was to become animated, the best I can see happening is somehow Williams Street ([adult swim]) would start doing an animation based on the works of megatokyo. There really is slim chance of it ever becomming truly an anime. I'm not saying I wouldn't like to see it, but think about some things: Most people have enough trouble watching anime with English dubs, now they would be stuck with sub-par english voice actors (not that all english VA are bad, but most aren't near the calibur of Japan's). I doubt it would stand a chance of making it to Japan or even having an anime of it start there. In short: I don't mean to dash any hopes, but it would take a miracle for MT to be made into an anime and more for it to be good.

Well as an animated series, Megatokyo shouldn't be fitted like the comic since each chapter is a whole day and eachchapter is 100+ pages so...yeah.

If it were turned into a series, chances are, it would probably take place before or after their trip to Japan and elaborate on some of their "friends" in the states. Plus, we haven't heard from Tsubasa and his journey for a while.

I think we have TWO other threads about this actually whee *should put a link to one in a sticky some place to make it stay visable* any way, it usually comes down to "not very likely" is what we decide. It involves a question of animated or not, subtitled or not (and that would be LOTS of subtitles if yes, and make largo look stupid for not understanding them speaking in english if no), and consider emo 's always done everything himself for MT, minus the time with Largo helpping, so would he have to do all the animation and stuff himself? If so, that's a ridiculous amount of work, if not, who's going to do it to make sure it still looks like his drawing style, and what about who's going to do the voices? There's lots of stuff involved that would probably just make it too complicated a project to be worth the effort for the results when the manga is succesful enough and time consuming enough on it's own.

Story board would suit him well I'd think, it just may be odd to go from sole creator controling everything to having so much out of your hands. That's true, it would kill the whole joke trying to really put sound to the 1337 xd I'm just imaging it though with if MT became an anime, it would be like Harry Potter becoming a movie series. Either stuff gets too changed if too much freedom is left to the other people making the thing, or the author has to watch over it so carefully the whole way to make sure it's going how they want that the original paper format get's neglected and seriously set back. just imagine all the DPDs and even more then that SGDs we'd be getting rofl

...Well, it's not easy finding bilingual voice-actors in general, for that matter, so...hypothetically, if Fred's gonna be picky like that, it'll take forever.
Or what COULD happen is get 2 voiceactors for Piro. Like how Disney has one voice actor for the acting and another for the singing.
And it's "necessarily". Whenever an E is followed by a C, it's usually followed by another E. In a word like that, anyways...

This might not be so hard.

Professional voice actors should be able to change the character of their voices. It might not be so hard to find actors with similar variations in voice.
