The small grey male sloshed his way across the forest floor, cussing all the way. Night had set in and the rain had come early, soaking the loner to the bone and chilling him just as deep, leaving the normally angry wolf infuriated and praying for shelter. He had made good time today, deciding almost 7 nights ago that he would leave his makeshift den at the edge of the freelands and venture farther into the woods. He was headed south, following waning scents of other wolves, their scents stuck in his nose and curled his lips into a snarl. He figured, after hearing news of what happened with his family, that his son must be here somewhere.
It had been a long while since he had been chased away. The markings in his fur had become less apparent, the blue of his face fading to a more dull color. He wondered how his son would look now, most definitely a new adult by this time. He had come out looking exactly like his mother, no doubt about it. The only thing he had inherited in looks from his father was the strange blue.
Taking a deep sigh he raised his head to peer around, now hoping to catch a glimpse of anything other than haze and trees. It didn't look like the rain would let up, and the echoing boom of thunder on the horizon settled that thought deep in his mind.

Fute found himself perched upon the ledge of the highest rock of a formation of three, the rain slashing down against his fur like bullets, feeling like pineneedles to his back but sending cool waves down his spine all at once. The land was muddy, and the trees swayed vigorously in the direction the wind would take them each passing second. It'd been a few days since he'd been alongside Rochir and headed down that mountain to Whisper, where apparently a bear had awaited them all. His memory blurred in anything further, however, as just as soon as they reached her, things seemed to block themselves out.
How he'd gotten to this location wasn't of too much concern to the male. There wasn't even much on his mind at the moment; unless of course one were to count Rochir. It seemed the other male was always embedded in his mind for some reason now. Alongside the minor, miniscule thoughts of his new, apparent, 'Shaman' abilities. That which he'd yet to figure out, but figured would come together soon enough. Either way, this moment in time wasn't unlike any other. Yeah. He was a rather dull wolf for the time being, and carried out a rather dull life.
A sigh heaved from his maw as he picked himself up and jumped down from his location, deciding to go for a walk into the night. The night had always held precious memories and precious meaning to him for some reason. Not only this, but there was a scent of something he couldn't quite place. Being inquisitive in nature ever since puphood, he seen no harm in checking it out. It might even turn out to be another wolf; who knew.

Slowly Mik turned himself round and round, taking note of South beforehand. Not that South was important, he just figured it would be best to continue in one direction, rather than get lost by running helter skelter. He yipped softly, a fleeting noise on the wind battered down by water falling from nowhere, in an sorry attempt to lure another wolf into showing him shelter. He wasn't particularly happy about the decision and his eyes burned with the thought of having to deal with a stranger. Unnecessarily pissed off, he continued to the West a few paces before turning and going East a few more. Horizontal scars - from the claws of his father in law - laid over pained hips, early arthritis setting in from age irritated by the cold.
Opening his maw he barked again, a haunting sound that eccoed in the trees like the wild scream of a banshee with all the subtleties of a whiporwil. There had to be someone out here. Not every damn wolf has a cozy den to go home to at night, a warm body to sleep by.
The mud crowding his feet and clinging to his belly, chest and tail were doing nothing to soothe him. The rain filtered through the trees in most places, bringing sap from the pine needles that stuck in his fur, matting it. If he DID find another wolf, he would be a sight for sore eyes, and a handfull at that with his anger growing more apparent every moment.

The looming smell of another crept closer and closer into Fute's nostrils, filling his mind with different messages as to what - or whom - this could be. After a few moments, the rather lofty male came to the conclusion that this was, indeed, another wolf in the area. It was made even moreso clear by the time a bark sharply echoed its way into sound, causing his ears to perk up promptly towards the direction in which it came from. "New friend, perhaps." The thought made a smile creep across his muzzle. It wasn't unlike him anymore to automatically think of someone new and unfamiliar as a friend, bypassing rational mind radiations that this new person could be dangerous. Nope; the optimistic Fute was back.
Although his mood had certainly just perked up, there was no doubt about it that the overly hyper attitude of oh-so-long-ago was no longer a part of who he was. Nomatter, this was a moment to celebrate! Just...in his own way for this day in life. Therefore within a matter of a few more seconds, he sounded a bark of his own in response, then lept forward swiftly, trecking towards the others' location, pacing himself as he went. No rush; no need to burn too much energy. It was just good to meet someone else. Not to mention the other one probably needed assistance. After all, the rain, thunder, and commotion alone mixed with being out here in the open, no shelters nearby that he knew of? It must've not been a pretty sight. Yes, it'd be good to not have to be alone on this night. He simply hope the other would think of things so well.

His own ears pricked upon hearing something other than darkness. "Good. Someone's coming to 'rescue' me." he spat, lips curling again as the stench of the other wolf entered his nose. Mik had lost all his curiosity as a young adult, and had lost much of his mind after his wife birthed their pups and he was exiled. Letting go of his anger for a moment, he scented the damp air again, making sure it wasn't one of his own that would come into view. And it wasn't, at least he didn't think it really was. This was a new wolf and a strange wolf at that, but through the rain and scents of the forest Mik could almost make himself believe he smelled his son, too.
As the scent came closer, Mik worked hard to put himself in a non-threatening position. He was never big to begin with, and hell he wasn't even medium sized but still he made himself appear neutral. Truthfully, by this point in life, the old male couldn't care less if this wolf killed him and ate him.

All four paws stomped the ground with each leap, his galloping keeping a steady pace for the good few minutes whilst he ran. Soon enough, the scent became very strong, and it was obviously time to slow down; that which he proceeded to do. Finally, after a few seconds more, the other, 'new' wolf came into view; a true marvel for the male's orbs to behold. Something about this one almost seemed....familiar.....for lack of better terms, although he couldn't really place what it was. Perhaps it was the way this one looked. Or perhaps it was his scent. Or even, rather, perhaps it was something else entirely... Either way, there was little to be made of the thought right this second, and so he shoved it aside.
The other one was smaller than he, gray in appearance with odd blue colorations striking across his face and such. His coat seemed dull, lacking a little luster, leading Fute to believe he was much older than himself. He didn't seem threatening either, and the fact that he was an elder of sorts already made Fute respect him somewhat. He believed in showing respect to his elders, and listening to them carefully. Their knowledge and wisdom held a much wider boundary than that of himself, despite new versus old-age lands. "Why, hello there." he said calmly, trying to be as friendly as possible after settling into a comfortable position.

"Hello." he spoke roughly, his voice grizzled with age. At least this one wasn't splashed with colors that made his eyes burn. He almost looked natural in the spots. Mik approved... of the wolf's coat at least.
"I am named Mikhael.. er.. Mik-ay-ehl." the wolf sounded out for the spotted male. It wasn't likely that he could say it right, it was mostly foreign. "Most simply call me Mik." The way he said it one would have thought the word was "Meek". With a bow of his head he silenced, allowing the stranger to introduce himself.

He nodded when the male had spoken. "Very well then. It's great to meet you, 'Mik'. My name is Fute." His name was of no concern to ever be pronounced wrong, as whilst foreign, it held a clear distinct sounding that couldn't be misplaced; regardless the accent. "What are you doing out here alone, at night, in the middle of a storm... if I might ask?" The thunderclaps from overhead set the mood for an unsettling night to heave way should either of them fail to find shelter until it all had passed over. For now, however, that matter could wait; he just couldn't help but slightly wonder for the older one. He offered a polite grin in greeting.

"I'm traveling.. " to put it shortly. It was a half truth, but he didn't feel the need to tell this wolf he was searching for someone. Even though... "I'm searching for someone.. I got caught by surprise, the rain started so suddenly." he spoke softly and slowly, as though he wasn't all there.
"I don't have a home." the elder whined softly at this, his mind still seemingly elsewhere.

The words spewing forth from the dullcoat's mouth made Fute sigh inwardly to himself. It was never a pretty picture to stare sadness in the eyes, but this time in particular wasn't any to keep down on. "Well then.." he began, trying to think of what to say, or even what he could offer to Mik. It was no battling effort deminishing the 'sadness' of the tone from his maw and coming out with a more lighthearted way with things. It was his nature.
After thinking for a few moments, he finally made a decision as to what to respond with. "..wait. Who are you looking for again?" Just like him. Always curious. In a moment he'd offer him a place to stay, aware that neither of them were far off from Rochir, who he'd left back at a small, safe location not too far away from where he'd stood before heading towards this one here. But for right now, this question was indeed one he wanted answered, for sure he'd help if he absolutely could.

"My.." Wait. Who was this wolf and why should he know who Mik was searching for? "I've been searching for my son." he spilled rather suddenly. There was no reason not to tell him now. Hell, the spotted male could probably even help him find the one he lost so long ago. "I can tell you more, but please help me." he shifted to show the scars on his hips. No longer angry gashes, but beneath them hid a common problem amongst the elderly. He needed to be dry and warm or soon they would grow more stiff and ache worse, and Mik would find himself unable to walk for a long while.

His...son? Now that was certainly a perdicument of the sorts, wasn't it. In either outcome, he knew that if it was at all in his power, he'd help if he could. Especially since Mik was now even asking for his help. The scars quickly revealed themselves on his hips, making Fute begin to feel rather sorry for the old fella'.
He leaned forward and gave the other a gentle hug of the sorts; what a wolf could, anyways. "Tell me.. Who is your son? What does he look like? I will do all that I can to help you, I promise.." Peaceful and kind in nature, it was clear now that he'd have to personally see to it that this one wasn't let out of his sight for a while.

The kindness from the spotted male caught Mik off guard. It had been a while since anyone had shown him anything but hatred. His mate would have liked this one. It was apparent that the male had softened up a bit from his angry state earlier, and when 'hugged' did his best to return the gesture with a grunt.
"He does not look like me, that's for sure." the old wolf suddenly said, a fond smile across his maw. "He's all handsomely orangeish red, black legs and a white fluff of a tail. He looks just like his mother.. " Of course the old male was going by Rochir's look as a pup. There was no telling how his fur had changed over time.

The spotted male took a moment to think about the description Mik had given to him. There would certainly be many wolves in the woods that carried the same qualities as depicted in his wordings, but Fute for one had only ever come to meet Rochir as a wolf slightly similar to what was being said. But it couldn't be Rochir now....could it? He shrugged that thought off gingerly and decided to question the male even further.
"Can you tell me anything else about him? Anything special that'd make him...stand out from the crowd, so to speak?" Without more clues, hints, details...he wouldn't be able to assist him. The rushing waters trickled down his back, drenching him even moreso from all the downpour. We'll catch a cold in this rackety rain! XD" he thought to himself in a joking manner.

"I.. I wouldn't know." he shivered. His brain was shutting down, racked by cold and pain. In truth, the old wolf wouldn't know of the long rough mane of fur down his son's neck and back. That had developed for the child after he had grown leggier, older. "Blue." he stated, unable to say more.
"I need.. " he swayed, almost falling. Instead he half sat, keeping his rear just from being consumed by cold mud, lest they ache and burn more. "I need shelter, warmth." he spoke quietly, finally able to finish his sentance.
