The first King of Fighters without storyline. TONS of fighters and moves, it kept the EX and Advanced modes of '97 plus many new DMs. Alternative versions of Fatal Fury and Art of Fighting teams and some more fighters! For me, the classic among classics.

98 is the most popular of the retro kof's, with little downsides, i suggest you find it somewhere.

well other than dreamcast, it'll be hard to find
i say just download a rom, buy it when they release it in a PS2 collection or something
can't tell you where to get roms tho.

well dreemcasts are quite rair theas days.
and I think that thare isiny a kof 98 rom(I have lookde and only found 96)
so Ile go with the ps2 releace.(lets hope they have one)

I bought the pirate release for PS with '96 '97 and '98 and yup i had plenty of fun with that CD, BUT sadly '96 never worked. I hafta find that CD again.

emulators i can help you with, for they are not illegal!
winkawaks, nebula and neorage x all play neogeo roms nicely. if one doesn't work on one of them, try a diff emu.
i can't be bothered looking for sites for you, but try to find zophars emulation site, he should have every emulator on there.
