The Outskirts of the Sound Village. There are scattered trees on the borders here, a few caves to hide in, but what you'll mostly see is hot, scorching desert. It is here that Miharu has chosen to meet her genin squad for their official test of conduct.

Timani makes her way here.
"good...she said not to be late...so why IS she late?...man...make up your freakin' mind...ha, I shouldnt talk, being a gennin and all....not like I wanted to do all that waork for the exsams...i'd just kill to many if I really got pissed...seeing as I have a short fuse called a temper....hahaha..."
she says stopping and placing a hand in a pocket, the other on her swords handel.

In answer to Timani's rhetorical 'why is she late' question, an arrow whizzed down from one of the remote trees and plunged into the ground just a few centimeters from Timani's feet. Miharu, unsheathed katana in one hand and grasping the bent spruce sapling of her longbow in the other, concentrated chakra into her feet and leaped from the tree, landing gracefully in front of the Uchiha genin.
"So, you're the first one here. Good," she said with an approving nod, looking around to see if the others had gotten close enough to where she could see them yet. "As soon as your other two teammates arrive, we can begin your official genin-approval test."
She did not pause to mention that Keikyoku, their new genin team-mate, was still perched in the tree which she had jumped from; no, that introduction could wait until Yuri and Kaosu arrived.

"Not until the Anzai girl gets here -- you'll have to demonstrate patience, Yuri," Miharu answered Timani just as Kaosu arrived, then turned her gaze on him and gave a nod to acknowledge him.
"Now we only have to wait for that Anzai girl to get here...fashionably late as usual, I suppose."

Suddenly a rabbit emerged from the bushes, its nose twitching as it ate part of an apple. It stood on its hind legs and began to focus as if concentrating its chakra. Yuri got up off her knees and quickly put the wooden rabbit mask she was wearing and the rest of an apple back into her bag.
"Sorry if I'm late, Miharu-sensei." she said with a bow, "And you too, Yuri-kun and Abumi-kun."
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a figure perched in a tree.
"Hey, Miharu-sensei, why's there a girl in that tree? Is she another genin?"

Miharu raised an eyebrow. "Nice of you to make your entrance before we left without you." Her gaze followed Yuri's question to the tree where Keikyoku was perched not-so-discreetly.
"Yes, there is another genin of our squad up there. She was forced to transfer here from the Moon Village."

At Miharu-sensei's abrupt chin-jerk that she should come down from the tree, Keikyoku closed her eyes, focused chakra into her molecules, and became one with the shadows. She flitted from the tree's shadow to Miharu's shadow, then materialized beside the Jounin. She bowed tersely to the other three genins of the squad.
"My name is Nobara Keikyoku," she greeted, her voice soft. "It's nice to meet the three of you."

Yuri didn't know much about the traditions here, besides what was learned at the academy, but she knew that a genin squad usually had three.
"Nice to meet ya, Keikyoku-kun! I'm Yuri Anzai, and I transfered too!"
she waved, "But it wasn't from a ninja village. That's why I'm a lot older than an average genin. Well, what's the Moon Village like?"

Hearing Kaosu-kun's comment made her think more about the strange line-up.
"Yeah, and isn't it supposed to be more boys than girls?"

"Nice to meet you, Yuri Anzai," Keikyoku acknowledged with a slight dip of her head in polite greeting. A faint smile graced her expression, her eyes clouding over with appreciative reverie. "Ah, the Moon Village," she whispered. "So dark...so beautiful, especially during the night. It does not rain as much there as it does around these parts, but I suppose that it to be expected; we live near the desert areas where rain doesn't visit our parts as much." Her oddly-colored eyes shifted over to Miharu as Kaosu made his self-conscious observation, which was actually quite a good point. Miharu being their Jounin-sensei, she assumed that the older girl would be a bit more knowledgable in the matters of such.
"Ah," Miharu muttered when Yuri spoke at first, "so you are older than I am. I suspected so...eh, this is gonna be a bit awkward." She rolled her eyes and ran a hand through her hair.
Turning her attention to Kaosu, she allowed her lips to twitch slightly at the faint urge to smile. "Our squad now has four genins, Kaosu, because the kage of the Sound Village has allowed some of the genin from the Moon village to transfer over to here, because neither village has many genin to begin with -- and the Sound Village, as it appears, has only one functionable Jounin. Take a good guess as to whom," she finished, pointing to herself and then letting that hand drop back to her side.

"Yeah, and isn't it supposed to be more boys than girls?"

"Yes..." The Zimari Jounin turned her head back to face Yuri, who was a bit taller than she was; this made her more than a little uncomfortable. "It is custom to have more boy genin than the girls in a three-man team. However, since both the Moon village and the Sound village have shortages on genin as it is, especially male genin, we have had to compromise. This is going to be a rather strange adjustment for all of us, I know, but that's life. We'll just have to deal with it."
She flipped some stray locks of hair back behind her shoulder, looking at each one in her squad with a cold gaze. "Now. Any more questions before I explain what the official pass-into-the-genin-ranks task is going to be?"

"I'm 17..." she said hopelessly, "Most of the people my age are already chunin, or even jounin. Oh well. Win some, lose some. I'm done with questions, Miharu-sensei. Please proceed." She gave an awkward bow.
