I goto a low budget school, so we have band cmap at our high school. Mostly because all the money our band has we had to raise, the district dose not even want us to have a band cause we are so small, Last year we had 18 marchers, 1 pit, and no guard. Told you we where small. Anyway, I'm a freshmen this year which is normaly bad in most bands but when the comeing in freshmens double the band from last year and there are3 seniors, haha we dont have to worry. Anyways the tradition I'mm told is that every year someone from the band takes a freshmens virginity. HAHA... I thought it was funny....

I imagine freshman would be good in a small band. Lucky for you. Our band is HUGE (260+ ppl this year) and everyone hates frosh *points to one of my own topics* we get blamed for everything. I'm so jealous.

My band is about 320+ people this year. Our tradition is a senior always makes a freshman wear a shirt that says "Press this button [it has a red circle on it] and I will yell '[insert BD's name] IS HOT!!!'"
Good times. Oh yea, and we have skit night the last night. All the sections make a skit and the section with the best skit gets to sleep in the last morning. We won last year, plus our skit is BA this year too, so, ya know, we're gonna win again.

our band is small too so we have it at our school for a whole month. we don't have many traditions though just small stupid ones but about 75% of our band is 7th and 8th graders.

augh! you guys have huge bands! in comparison... mine is only like 124 people, going up to something like 140 next year.

You guys have really big bands...mine is about 75...and this is about as big as it's been in a while... eek but we just have freshmen initiation...it's kinda fun...but our band camp starts next week...i'm a junior this year, so i'm going to go to rookie camp in about an hour to help out meh director. xd What class do any of you go in...or do you live anywhere around Ohio that you would go to some of the competitions we're (Twin Valley South) at?? whee

wow, all of your bands are bigger than the one I'm in...this year we're at 65 members...but who knows how many pagentry....At band camp we have a Freshman of the Day Award for the most diligent Frosh and that person gets a bucket of water and dumps it on any member of leadership, yet leadership cannot move due to being at attention. It's fun, but annoying.

Duh-duh-duh a whopping 21 winds marching this year! I think our guard might be bigger than us...that's sad. cry Let's see, freshmen initiation...nope I can't think of any. At least, the flutes never did anything.
We have Band Camp at the school, too. One week out of every month (with 2 weeks in August) we're at the school practicing. COme to think of it, I don't think any of the schools in the area go anywhere for their band camps either. Pomona, maybe, but they've got a really nice field to practice on, so I don't see why they would...

This year we had 40 seniors graduate. Our band as a whole doesn't have a tradition for band camp.
Only our low brass has an outrageous initiation. they make the freshman drink this awful mixture of bananas, spam, peanut butter and I don't want to know what else is in it. I am glad at times that I am a woodwind.
The only noticeable tradition we have is before a competition we scream WAHOO! To the stands and our parents scream it back (parents...stalkers...groupies...whatever you want to call them)

I just start marching band. The first time we had it we wen up to a really neat park in the mountains and stayed there for 3 days 2 nights. It was good, tiring, and the food stunk but it was fun. We had all these march ofs and stuff. All the freshmen stuck, we never stood in for the 3 round.
We then had a one day camp where we got at the school at 8 and then we had and hour lunch, then we practiced music. Now that would be really cool, but I have to do that next week and the week after that. Except we have to be in our posistions at 7am sharp and then we stay there until 3... I DON'T KNOW IF I CAN DO IT......... it's scares me. We have to be out in the hot sun almost all day. I'm going to die.

Our tradition, THE MR.BANDCAMP BEAUTY PAGENT! ohh the talent show is great, the seniors dress up the frap boys in drag, and the girls as ugly as possible (they have seprate comps, mr.bandcamp is cooler) and they get a pick up line that they read to a senior guy, and have to do something like sing girls just wanna have fun (that was me) write your name with your butt, make a sandwich with your mouth, and have a senior eat it, and then there is the find the skittles with your mouth and the senior with the harriest chest which is coverd in wipped cream, thats nasty.

Our band is about.....243 this year? maybe 263, but I'm pretty sure its 243 this year. At Band Camp, we always have a march off and all that jazz. and If the DI wants to do something smancy then they can throw their section a party, my friend is throwing a Pit Party since he's DI of all the Pit this year. eek
