Syetam: Wayland
Position in System: 1
Sector: unknown
Region: Outer Rim
Capital City: New Nyatso
Population: 510,700
Length of Day: 23 hours
Length of Year: 535 days
Environment: Semi-tropical
Sentient Species: Mynerishi, Psadans
Other Species: Humans, Noghri

A primitive, backwater planet, Wayland was chosen by Emperor Palpatine as a hiding place for his high-technology projects, such as the cloaking device and his Spaarti cylinders.

A forested planet not unlike Yavin 4, Wayland's treetop canopy was divided into two unique levels. Its day lasted 23 standard hours, and its year consumed 535 local days. The planet was home to the Psadan and Myneyrsh races, both of which lack any higher technology.

It was originally discovered during the Old Republic's second expansion wave, but was lost from the records for many years. The colonists were forced to survive with little or no technology, and unknown to them, no chance of rescue or resupply. These first colonists quickly angered the native Psadan and Myneyrsh races, stealing land for their own use through superior technology. After this, the humans were lucky to survive another month or so, before they were all killed.

Just before his death, Palpatine placed the mad clone Joruus C'baoth on the planet to guard his technology hoards stored in Mount Tantiss. He ruled there with the cruel sense of justice of a Dark Jedi. The Mount Tantiss base included a fully functional Imperial base, several thousand occupants, as well as a seperate hidden area in the mountain where thousands of Spaarti cylinders were used for cloning. The base remained hidden and operational until Luke Skywalker was called to the planet.

In the swirl of events surrounding Grand Admiral Thrawn's death, Mount Tantiss was destroyed and C'baoth killed. In the years that followed, the Noghri were relocated to Wayland, and the city of New Nystao was formed in the shadow of Mount Tantiss. The New Republic discovered that it would be nearly impossible to restore Honoghr, and gave the Noghri a chance to rebuild on Wayland.

Since then, Wayland has remained for the most part unchanged. Only the one Noghri city, New Nyatso exists in the dense forests, where Noghri, Humans, Psadans, Mynerishi, and other visiting alieans live in relative peace.

Locations

These are the various Imperial locations here on Wayland.

Mt. Chiss- Imperial Cloning Facility
The primary base-of-operations for the Imperials, Mt. Chiss houses several thousand spaarti cloning cylinders. Right now, they only produce 24,000 fully trained clones every month; they have a potential of creating millions eventually. The base is also a military function, where the local commander, Elladan Kenet, watches over. There are about 4000 registered personel. Defenses include stormtroopers, techs, and various automated defenses inside, with a pair of AT-ATs, several maulers and AT-STs, and even more troopers. The base itself is hidden inside the mountain. Entry is only possible with special clearance of at least officer's rank, or personel ID.

Imperial Naval Yard
The first naval yard for the Imperial navy since the Empire's defeat at Tatooine, the base manufactures and deploys new-age Acclamantors and Victory Star Destroyers every few days. Because of it's on-planet location, the facility isn't large enough to construct anything larger, but for what it's worth, there's none needed.

New Chysylla- Imperial Base and Vehicle Factory
The base surrounding the naval yards. New Chysylla is about twenty miles east from Mt. Chiss, and on the coast. The base houses barraks, a Command Center, anti-vehicle and infantry defenses, radar, a droid repair center, a uniform outfitter, a blaster and eqiptment plant, and a Vehicle Factory. The latest Imperial technology is developed here and then built. The garrison is 4000 units. A road leads west to Mt. Chiss, and a hovertrain runs north to Mt. Psadan.

Mt. Psadan Facility
Due to lack of other facilities on other planets, the local commander went ahead and had a mine constructed. This way, instead of waiting days or weeks for small shipments, he can get his own, process it, and use it to construct what he needs.

New Imperial Technology

Acclamantor-class assault ship Mark II
The 'modern' Acclamantor, completely upgraded versus it's Clone Wars counter-part. Better armor and shields, a faster hyperdrive, and bolder guns, and still the same cargo space, a single one of these ships is better even than the favored Victory Star Destroyers. All Acclamantors carry 10 squadrons of 4 bombers (40) and 20 squadrons of 7 fighters (140). Crew includes 10,000 personel, 20 AT-ATs, 40 AT-STs, 40 TIE ap-1s, three pre-fab bases, and 14,000 personel for ground deploy in vehicles or pre-fab base.

*NOTE- The 10,000 crew personel includes pilots, stormtrooper guards, technicians, officers, etc. Droids do not count to population.

Victory-class Star Destroyer Mark II
The Victory-class Star Destroyer was so successful for beyond a century, a newer, more modern model has been crafted. All turbolaser batteries and ion cannons more powerful, and concussion missile launchers enough to shatter a fleet of old Acclamantors. Like it's predesesor, it lacks the cargo space for huge deployable armies, but carries more fighters and bombers, and is overall better suited to space battle. The best feature? It still costs less than an ISD. All Victories carry 20 squadrons of 4 bombers (80) and 40 squadrons of 7 fighters (280). Crew includes 20,000 personel, 10 AT-ATs, 20 AT-STs, 20 TIE ap-1s, one pre-fab base, and 4,000 personel for ground deploy in vehicles or pre-fab base.

*NOTE- The 20,000 crew personel includes pilots, stormtrooper guards, technicians, officers, etc. Droids do not count to population.

Imperial TIE ap-3 (TIE Driller)
A newer version of the TIE Maulers and TIE Crawlers of the Civil War, boasts anti-armor guns along with it's infantry-crushing blasters, and a diamon-boron bit drill strong enough to chew through permecrete and even durasteel.

Imperial TIE Trolley
New transport vehicle with the cockpit of a TIE, and a large, low bed, designed for hauling raw goods and debris. Ten short legs for good movement, but slow speed. Similar to the old Republic troop-carriers.

Imperial AT-MT (All Terrain Medium Transport)
A mini AT-AT, with better armor than the Scout Walker, but slower speed. Operates on four legs like it's big cousin, but more maneuverable weapony, and a manable turrent on topside. Can carry up to 15 passengers, plus 2 crew.

Imperial Clones
Standard clones, bred by the Empirial Remnant, and designed by Elladan Kenet, these generic soldiers are 'niman'; the jack of all trades. While not proficient in any one service, such as technician, security, or recon, these standard clones are capable of just about any task- to a minor degree. They have been taught all of the basic training of all aspects of the Empire's gruntwork. There are no officer varients, due to their limited warranty of one year, but this may yet change. Nevertheless, a clone is still a threat to be handled if your situation turns to the worse. Unlike other Empirials, clones are resistant to Force powers, due to the complicated nature regarding identical life-readings and the Force itself (abilities such as Mind Trick are useless).

Project: Clone

For lack of boredom here, traditional Spaarti technology as used by the Empire could create clones in twenty days. However, these clones experienced a disease called 'clone madness'.

To counter this, clones are only being used for one year, until a cure can be found, or better clones can be made.

Imperial 711th Elite Pilot Division
Cloned from the best Imperial pilots availble at the time, these new clones are designed and trained SPECIFICALLY to pilot fighter-craft, shuttles, and assault craft. This training is provided on top of their rudimentary basic training.

Imperial 305th Elite Commando Division
Cloned from the best Imperial stormtroopers, and designed and trained for the most covert and/or difficult missions, they are 'last resorts', siege breakers, and the best at any line of stormtrooper work. They are the equivilant of the 501st, AKA Vader's Fist.

Imperial 229th Elite Technician Division
Cloned from the best Imperial technicians, they're bred to be the best mechanics, designers, workers, and whatever is needed to imrpove the Imperial war-machine. Other then basic training, they can all pilot support craft such as TIE ap-3s, AT-STs and AT-ATs, and others. Their gear is not as heavry or hardy as stormtroopers, but still more than regular technicians.

*Note* Each division/legion contains 6500 units.

The Indomitable broke hyperspace the next day over the jungle world. Once the Emperor's warehouse, Wayland was now the Noghri homeworld. This new fleet was being led by Thrawn's distant descendent Elladan Kenet to return to Wayland and start an Imperial presence.

As it was, Captain Kenet had the best weapon in his hands, better than the entire Republic Fleets: the Grand Admiral's personal journal. Not only did he have the coordinates, he had the schematics to EVERYTHING the legendary Chiss saw in his ventures, including the Spaarti cylinders used for his cloning projects. If they could be recreated, he could have new clones every 20 days...

~

As leader and commanding officer of the project, appointed by the Dark Lord himself, Elladan had the planet scanned for life. Intelligence showed one settlement, New Nyatso, home to a few thousand Noghri, humans, and aliens described by Thrawn to be Mynerishi and Psadans. Choosing to avoid attention, they locked orbit on the opposite side, fired a turbolaser to clear tress and deployed a prefabricated base down to the planet, officially beginning Imperial colonization.

Within two hours, base camp was set up, and the scouts were deployed. Once a tactical map was available, Elladan reviewed it.

Their prefab base was almost smack dab in the middle of the forest. To the east, some thirty miles, was a large bay leading on to the ocean. On all other sides, endless forests, with a single mountain about fifty to the north. It was there, Elladan decided, that they should put the new cloning facility.

While scouts went to search the area, Elladan began reviewing everything Thrawn wrote about his spaarti cylinders.

Rayce came out of hyperspace around a jungle planet, which looked very similar to Yavin 4, his destination. Since he had never been to Yavin, he didn't know to look for the giant gas ball. Rayce brought his small vessel into the lower atmosphere to look for the civilization of Twi'leks that had asked for his aid.

Rayce landed in the forest near what seemed to be a small outpost. Rayce stepped out of the vessel and wiped his brow in the extreme humidity of the jungle. "Very interesting. Some of that machinery looked familiar. Ah well." The young man began to hike through the jungle. After about twenty minutes he saw a pair of Imperial scout troopers. The young mechanic drew his small blaster and hid behind a tree, cursing lightly.

Rayce's ship had been spotted almost as soon as it came out of hyperspace. Elladan already had his forces alerted. "Take me down to the planet!"

While Rayce was preoccupied watching a pair of scouts, two more were ready to ambush him. They lowered their rifles. "Lower your blaster!"

Rayce cursed, then tossed his blaster to the ground. "Great. Way to go, Rayce. Didn't he always tell me to always look in both direction...?" Rayce sighed and held up his empty hands, muttering silent curses.

In no time, Rayce was hauled off via speeder bike to the Imperial Base. It was fairly heavily armed, and the prefab outpust had to offer a lot in the way of rural hospitality. He was taken to the Command Center, where a tall Chiss in uniform waited on him. "Right on schedule. May i have your name?"

"That depends, Imperial. How long do you need the information before you kill me?" Rayce's eyes flared as he glared at the Chiss. His ancestors had once been members of the Rebellion, and he had always been taught to despise the Empire. Now was no exception.

Elladan smirked. "I never intended on killing you, though it does sound like a viable option. You've unknowingly found your way into Imperial Space. That is no crime, however it was preferred this location remain hidden."

He turned around, and beckoned inside. "Bring him in." The soldiers complied, and followed the captain to an office.

Rayce struggled a bit, but walked all the same. He knew that the Imperials would possibly kill him, but he didn't have much of a choice. Still, the Imperials were treating him better than he had expected. Rayce still glared at the Chiss when he stood in the office of the Imperial captain. "Nice interior. Very reminiscent of Grand Admiral Thrawn."

He smiled a bit. "Thank you. I take pride in my distant relation. Please, sit. I'm sorry if our accomodations seem very last minute, but we've only been here for the better part of today. Can I offer you a glass of water?" He held out a pitcher and plastic cup.

Rayce shook his head. Though he admired the hospitality of the Chiss, he was still very wary. "Why not just kill me if you want to keep your secrets?"

He nodded. "Good logic, but mine is better; why kill a man when you can incarcerate him under his own will and offer him a chance to survive?"
