I just hope I'm allowed to post this... being new an all. I dont go to a fanfiction site, and this is my first fanfic. So I post it here. :3 I'll donate later, so dont bring those collection cups out on me.
Eh, so I'm a very young writer. I did this about 6 months ago, and havent finished the 3rd chapter due to needing a write it just as I'm going through a particular scene in ToS. I'm too lazy, nyah. The only reason I'm posting this, is well... I'm afraid I got quite a bit of the facts wrong, and ToS is too vague, so quite a bit of this logic is made up. sweatdrop
I'm sorry for grammar problems. As I said, I am very young, and my stupid schoolsystem hasnt even covered dialogue, or gone into major details on anything. So what you see down there is mostly instinct from reading hundreds of books.
Since I wrote this, weve gone into more about sentance fluency, ect. further chapters(If ever) will have much better writing, less instinct, more knowledge.
If you find anything that has to do with Tales Lore that I did wrong, PLEASE PLEASE TELL ME! v_v; Comments are very appreciated.. read it please?
-Salice Yggdrasill's fanfic about Salice Yggdrasill-
A dream for a world... for my sister and me.
Two human-like beings lay in various states of unconsciousness, one laying gracefully down, like sleeping; the other propping itself up with arms put in between it’s kneeling legs. Their eyes were both closed, one serene, one ragged.
At first glance, you would think that they were the same people, they looked and dressed exactly the same. They both had long, platinum-blonde hair that reached just below their shoulders. An irregularly long wisp of bangs obscured half of their left eye, and the rest of the bangs feathered to the right, put perfectly into each other, veiling the right eye. Their eyes were striking emerald green, slightly slanted to produce a more evil, aggressive look. But taking a closer look, one saw that the sleeping one’s face was sharp and pointy, while the other’s slightly blocky. The bodies were built differently too, the hunched over and ragged one being more solid and powerful, the other one being slim and lithe. Slender and fast, the body of the sleeping one was curvier, with wider hips and a slimmer waist. A girl, evidently. Broad shouldered and more muscular, her partner was a male.
The differences in their clothes were hardly noticeable, the differences consisting only in the way that they fit and where things were strategically placed. They wore a white, tight-fitting suit that covered the body neck down, except the openings in the sleeves that let the arms and shoes protrude. A diamond was cut out of the cloth right below the neck and was hemmed with a gold material that could have been metal or fabric. The gold stretched around the diamond and branched out on several directions around the suit, but in the middle of it was an oddly shaped thing cut out of the same golden material. Set inside it was a glittering crystal that matched their eyes and caught the light, sending emerald light glittering around the room. The diamond was set higher and smaller on the female, to prevent showing of unnecessary things.
Their eye lids fluttered at the same time, which was unusual noting their separate conditions. As the male’s eyes opened, a slow, small smile spread upon his face, as he looked upon the women with pride. The look was somewhat arrogant, and his eyes were cold and calm, which just blatantly showed you that he never lost himself in anger; never made rash decisions because of it. The women’s gaze wandered around the room until it finally came to rest upon the man, and her face copied his. Blinking two large eyes she spoke.
“You are Lord Yggdrasill, Mithos Yggdrasill, sister of Martel and leader of Cruxis,” she said this as a statement, and a fact, “and you have made me. I speak because my soul is yours, I know what you know, and your past is mine. I hold you dreams and your ambitions, and I will strive to make those true. I am not you, but me, though I am you. You are my friend, and I trust you, for you are me. You trust me. Yet I waste my breath, because you know this, for I am you.” This was a blunt thing to say, and she said it without hesitation, her voice a higher copy of Lord Yggdrasill’s.
Yggdrasill was silent, contemplating how he had done this. He did not truly know why this had happened, only it was an odd combination of Cruxis Crystals, possessing a body of another, and changing existing souls into a different kind. The concept was relatively simple, yet the details were confusing. In order to create… himself, he would have to posses a Cruxis crystal, yet if he did that, he would simply exist in that, not create an independent entity. If he tried to more extremes measures, he would lose his own soul and cease to control… himself. So he had to make a duplicate… but how? After a bit of experimenting on weaker souls, he found out that if a person was subjected to being around a person for a long time, they eventually started to copy some of the persons actions. But to decide to do this, his soul would change minorly. So if one soul was in the presence of another… wouldn’t it have the same effect? It did. It was pretty simple after that discovery, he simply by took the soul of a person from one of his abnormal exphere/Cruxis Crystal experiments, one in where their soul was trapped inside the Crystal, where the crystal had mutilated their body, and was working on their soul. He projected himself, his soul, over the one inside the crystal, and it slowly twisted and mutated, to change. It copied him, and became him. This soul, knowing what he knew, possessed his one of his lifeless, soulless, minions, the Dark Sword. This would give her the ability to control her growth and appearance, and exist forever. But making an exact copy of himself wouldn’t benefit him, so she had to change. The easiest way was to give himself feminine instincts, females had slightly different ways of reactions, but she was still him. Not only would this make her different, yet the same but she would have the advantages he did not have as a male. Doing that was easy, he did not change his soul in anyway. He simply put it in a females body, thus also the dark sword.
She shared his dream of making Martel live again, and achieving the age of half-elves. The Origin sword, the source of his power, could only be tapped into by himself, the vessel that carried his soul. But she was him, had his soul, and could achieve the same power as him.
Her voice again cut into his musings, “You made me because you can no longer trust anyone but yourself. Yuan is a double agent. Kratos has been leaking info to help his son and his causes, and all the humans and elves out there hate you.” She stood up and great pink and black wings spread from her back. “…,” thought Yggdrasill, “what?!” He reached out a hand and a black feather floated down into his outstretched hand. He examined its color, its intensity. If was the same as his... but black, whitening into grey where the color was lighter. The deepness of the color was the same, as was the texture, size, shape, pattern, and density. His smile dropped, and he wondered inside his head, “What is the meaning of this?” She placed a finger over her lips and said softly, “I will always support you,” and flew out the door, doing what he wanted, he thought. She knows what he wanted to happen, naturally. His brow creased in thought, but then stopped, as some un-known force suppressed suspicions and offered comfort. All worries concerning her vanished and he too got up, and his violet and blue wings blossomed out, and he flew out of the room. There was nothing in there that showed that they had ever been there, except a blue feather and a pink feather. They twirled around each other, dancing on the wind stirred up by Yggdrasill’s wings.
Note- *Hugs whoever read it* *Glomps Otaku Nyu* Thankyou for the comments! ^-^ The next is much shorter. ^_^;
-2nd chapter upon request- She floated, stationary, in large room. Murderers and Perfect Murderers floated past her, patrolling this part of the area. These annoyed her, but She tolerated them. She had been messing with the controls, trying to make the machine detect intruders from all entrances other than the main one, but the thing refused to be programmed that way. Muttering darkly, she relented for a while. A Perfect murderer was blundering past her when the thought occurred to her that She had no identity except she was essentially Lord Yggdrasill’s clone. Filthy human and elven names would do no good. Sarah, Margret, and such weren’t even considerations. She would not go to Yggdrasill, for he would have no idea, because she was him, and anything that would occur to him would have occurred to her. She cocked her head, and searched her mind for the biggest knowledge sink in Tetha’alle. She mumbled for a while, and finally decided on Syback’s library. She flipped in her wings and mentally called forth power to teleport herself from Dherris-Kharlan to just outside Syback. Closing her eyes and murmured, a ring of light enveloped her and shot upward, slowly diminishing.
She appeared with low hissing sound outside Syback. Her form blinked as she changed her garb to a white dress hemmed with gold, with the familiar missing triangle. She entered Syback and went into the Library, not knowing what to do, just searching for ideas. After browsing through around 40 books, she came upon an interesting book concerning the living weapons of the two worlds. They were interesting beings, odd human like things that were lifeless, like She and Yggdrasill. They could see right through a person, and by doing this they looked at each person, and respected them in a different way. Once they found the person the respected most, they would change into a weapon, very powerful, and customized to their wielder’s needs. Silverant was called Ssangarant, and Tetha’alla was called Telascelice.
She closed her eyes as 6 letters rocketed through her mind, “SALICE.” She knew this was who she was. She did not know why, but it was. Some small musing deep inside her mind made sense. Wasn’t she essentially Lord Yggdrasill’s weapon? His tool? Salice smirked; living weapons? They were lifeless! Dropping all thought from her mind now, she pressed her book to her chest, and a silvery mist swirled around her. It sparkled and glittered as a ring of light circled her and shot up, bringing her back to Dherris-Kharlan.
When Salice got back, Lord Yggdrasill was waiting for her. “The chosen’s party is heading this way. The traitor Zelos is with them. We will make the mana transfusion when the come,” as his words flowed through her, and she felt unmeasured happiness, and her lips twitched into a smile. He teleported, and she followed right behind him as his thoughts filled her mind.
Notes: Uhm... Yo. My references.. are made up. smile ; -Chapter 3:-
Lord Yggdrasill sent Kratos out on a make work job, since he didn’t know about Salice yet and he didn’t trust him enough to reveal her. Pronyma cruised in behind him. “My Lord, Zelos has fallen,” Pronyma reported, “and the band he was traveling with has progressed on into the teleporter. Your orders?”
“Do nothing,” Yggdrasill murmured,” stay here.”
“But my Lor-“
“And be quiet.” said the serene voice of Salice.
The grand cardinal’s head shot around in instant fury, her mouth shouting before her eyes got there. “And Who besides Lord Yggdrasill has any right to say that?” she asked heatedly, her features transformed with indignation.
“Precisely.” Salice commented, drifting past her.
Lady Pronyma’s mouth dropped open with shock as her Master received her and took the bag she had been carrying. She had never seen this angel before, who looked, acted, and spoke like her Lord! She spluttered for a moment, and then regained her composure.
“As you wish.” she muttered.
The object appeared to be a carrier full of glittering jewels. Yggdrasill placed each of the shimmering beauties in shallow holes of a large device in front of him, flipped a few switches, and finally activated it by channeling some of his own mana into the device. It’s base vibrated, and the vibrations sped up through the whole thing. The grand cardinal’s eyes fallowed the vibrations. First to the girl with sun-colored hair lying encased in a dome and then up to the shimmering turquoise flower of exquisite ethereal beauty, hanging in mid-air and giving off the strong scent of mana.
Salice quietly flew up and perched behind the device, looking at the back of the girl trapped in the “Machine.” concealed partially from view. Good timing, infact.
With a clang of steel, the door behind them opened and emitted a tall boy, eyes blazing and sword drawn.
Crowing heroically, he spoke, “Yggdrasill! Your twisted scheme ends here!”
Lord Yggdrasill spun around, “Lloyd! How did you get here? That lock can only be opened by the members of Cruxis high order! No Matter. I’ll just squish you like the bug you are.” As he spoke, light welled up in his hand. It swirled, forming a writhing sphere of light.
Lloyd saw it, and blocked for the inevitable. Except that it didn’t come. Rocketing off his palm, the deadly sphere shot towards Lloyd, but was intercepted at the last moment by nothing other than… a simple fireball. Up on the balcony, a small and silver-hiared boy had his arm thrust out, a kendama(sp?) in his outstretched fingers. Behind him were several serious looking adults, that Salice recognized immediately. Regal, Presea, Raine, Genis, and the scantily-clad Sheena. They jumped down with a nimbleness that could only be provided by expheres, and gathered at Lloyds side.
“Guys!” Lloyd exclaimed, “your alive!” Yggdrasill tossed his head, flipping his hair. “No matter,” he smirked, “I’ll just have to get rid of more of you…”
Yggdrasill turned his head toward Pronyma, and spoke in a dismissive tone, one that you would use when dealing with a nuisance, “Pronyma, it’s your fault they’re still alive, kill them.” He turned his head towards Collete and Martel, watching intently. Salice felt like throwing back her head and laughing out loud. All that she had ever “worked” and “aspired” for was finally coming true…. yet somewhere inside her was a little voice of doubt. That what she was assisting with was totally wrong. She frowned, where was this coming from? She knew that Lord Yggdrasill was not feeling this. Why should she? Then her mind ceased to remember that it had ever rebelled. Happiness surged over her and she forgot, too busy watching the mana transfusion to even note that Pronyma was failing.
The sounds of battle stopped and Salice heard the thud of Pronyma falling to the ground. She didn’t care, she was too fixed on the mana transfer to notice.
“Lord... Yggdrasill... it hurts,” came the rasping voice of Pronyma, who lay defeated on the ground, crawling towards Yggdrasill, “Help... me… Lord Yggdrasill.. Mithos...”
A snarl issued from Lord Yggdrasill, and he tore his eyes from Colette to glare at Pronyma, “How dare you call me by that name! Only my former companions can call me by that!” Little tendrils of energy swirled into his hand, and a ball of light was formed. It took off from Yggdrasill’s palm and struck Pronyma, causing her to shudder. Her body began to fade, becoming dark red lights that drifted towards the heavens.
“That’s… so cruel…” said Presea Combatir. Salice let ask a tiny gasp, responding to Presea’s feelings with an odd sense of concern. Most of her body agreed with Yggdrasill’s actions, but some part deep within her repulsed, spreading itself and affecting her in ways it never should. She willed it away, but it wouldn’t totally go, just hung around her mind in a grey mist.
While she was fighting her moral battle deep inside her own mind, she suddenly became aware of her surroundings at the sound of Yggdrasill’s voice, “I will kill you all!” He then launched into a battle with the chosen’s group. While she was fighting her moral battle deep inside her own mind, she suddenly became aware of her surroundings at the sound of Yggdrasill’s voice, “I will kill you all!” He then launched into a battle with the chosen’s group. Salice’s head sort of felt funny. She ignored the combat and watched the light pretty lights of the mana transfusion. Why didn’t they… just let Martel rest? Existing… for 4000 years... all alone.. must have been terrible. She sank to her knees, her eyes pointed at the ceiling, yet looking at something far, far away…
She didn’t notice herself fail the battle and crouch on the floor, 20 feet away. She didn’t notice the soft hiss of a chamber releasing, nor soft footsteps on the tile.
“Why..? What have you done?” said a gentle voice, hauntingly familiar. She had not heard it for so… so… long…
Mithos whirled and, rocketing to his feet. Salice leapt explosively up.
It was Collete, a serene expression on her face, walking gracefully towards them.
“Martel,” Mithos and Salice gasped together.

xd Oh, I've done that with my picture image files before. Fun times, fun times...
I love the new chapter, by the way. heart 3nodding ...Um. I feel pretty stupid asking this, but what was your referance point for the other naming of the worlds, and the lifeless beings that transformed into weapons? Is that from another Tales game I've never played? Or is it just your own idea? sweatdrop
