 Obie tugged on her long sleeves as she walked slowly towards the archery range. She felt silly wearing a long sleeved shirt when it was so hot out, but she wasn't in the mood to deal with the odd stares and looks people had been giving her. Word travelled faster than ever in this school, especially when Izumi was involved. Slowly she kicked her shoes off at the doorway and stepped up into the dojo.

 Jess stood on the platform staring at the target, she had her bow in one hand and an arrow in the other but had yet to fire a shot. She smiled, it was summer, summer was a good time. Jess could now train outside most days turning her winter pale skin deep olive tones she had her mother's blood to thank for.
At the sound of Obie's steps on the wood she turned and smiled.
"Hey." She said drawing the bow and fireing her first shot of the day. "Long time no see."

Obie almost didn't recognize her sensei, having thought she was another student. smiling lightly at Jess' greeting, again tugging on her sleeves, she stepped closer to her.
"I like your new hair. It's very nice," she smiled, looking out across the range to see the arrow quivering in the target.
"I uh... came to tell you that you should probably just drop my name from the club roster. I won't be able to get in any practice for a good long while now, and I've been so scarce anyways. It's not fair to keep me on when someone else could have my spot," she said softly, turning slightly to face her.

"Thanks." Jess said with a half smile as she placed her bow in the rack. At Obie's next words she frowned and turned to face her.
"You should know I don't drop students without a damn good reason." She said gesturing to a seat. "I would also like a reason for your absence in the first place." Back in sensei mode she sat down and took out the admin file. "This is not a light weight commitment Obie." She said raising a questioning eyebrow.

Obie sat down in the seat Jess pointed to and folded her arms carefully over her lap. "I know sensei... and I don't want to give it up. But... I physically can't particpate for another few weeks and then I'll just be back at square one," she replied, nervously readjusting her sleeves needlessly. "And the reason for me not being here is that a lot of personal stuff has come up, and I've had to stop coming in order to keep up with my studies."

"Bollocks." Jess said looking at her. "But whatever, you don't care, i don't care."She shrugged and wrote something down. "What I do care about is what's happened to you to make you physically incapable of coming to the club?"
She sighed a little, Obie like Kayne and Ra needed what the club had to offer, it would be ashame to lose her to less useful commitments.

Obie cringed inwardly at Jess' curse. She was honestly speaking the truth, she thought, but didn't want to argue. But where to begin on why she couldn't physically attend? Slowly, Obie slipped her sleeves up on both of her arms to reveal tightly bound bandages along the length of both of them.
"I'm not really sure... what happened," she said, not looking up at Jess. "The... crazy kid who slashed Ra... got me too."

Jess looked at Obie's arm and then frowned at her words.
"Again!" She exclaimed glaring down at the girl's bandaged arm. "What the hell happened?"
The last thing she thught she would have to deal with when she took the job from gennai was some knife happy student.

Obie openly cringed at Jess' irritation and retracted her arms tightly against herself. "I was... walking off campus with someone and he was following us. The guy I was with got irritated and called him out on it... and it all was just a huge blur from there. He seemed really intent on hurting me though... if Nato hadn't been there... It was bad sensei. He openly threatened to kill us... that's when this happened," she said, glancing down at her arms.

Jess shook her head and muttered something in Italian. Why did guys always have to play macho and retaliate to everything. At the mention of the boys name she looked up at Obie. She had never met such a self destructive girl before.
"If he hadn7t been with you the fight may not have been a fight."She sighed running her fingers through her strangely short hair. "He threatened to kill you? He just decided or something triggered him? What prompted the argument?" Jess smiled a little. "It's important if I want to stop this boy."

Sighing, Obie looked up at Jess and tucked some of her long hair behind her ears.
"It was his name. I said his name and asked him to stop because he was seriously hurting Nato. Come to think of it... the whole fight started because I had said his friend's name. He found out that I had been talking to his friend and got really upset with me about it. So that's when the fight really started. When I asked him to stop he came after me, then threatened to kill Nato. I opened my big mouth and he came after me," she said shuddering and trying to forget the vivid details of that day.

Jess listened to her, or tried to and frowned once more.
"O.k I'm a little confused. He was trying to hurt ... that guy you were with because he was trying to defend you? And he was trying to hurt you because you said his name?"
Running her fingers through her hair ahain Jess shook her head, trying to make sense of the situation. "Why did you talk to his friend? What possessed yout to do that?"

"Okay," Obie sighed again. "I didn't know that Makito was his friend when I started talking to him, and actually he's quite charming. He blatantly told me to stay away from Izumi. Nato and I were walking off campus to have lunch and Izumi was following behind us. Apparently he and Nato had had some minor altercation before hand or something. Izumi said something out of the blue to Nato about some kid name Brae killing himself. Nato just ignored him and tried to walk away. I... couldn't understand why they were both being so cold so I asked Izumi. He then proceeded to tell me that Nato slept with Brae while we were together, then asked me if I considered myself to be Makito's friend," she said, starting from the very beginning. "Things went straight downhill after that."

Jess blinked at her, suddenly everything falling into place, the day at the canteen and Brae's fainting fit.
"O.k I get about the friend. But forget all that ..." SHe said still a bit to shocked to say anything. Surely Brae hadn't killed himself? She would have heard about it. "Obie ... do you know how old Brae is?" She asked, frowning a little. If she disliked the nato boy before, now he was on her black list.

Obie frowned at Jess' question. What did that have to do with anything? "No," she said, shaking her head. "But... what does that have to do with anything?" she asked, a sinking feeling in her stomach.
