Can anyone give me advice on where to find colored lace? I've looked in two or three fabric stores, but can't find any.

I've found plenty of colored lace at Johann's. If you can't find it there, you're probably looking in the wrong place. They usually have it in spools in a different area from the other lace.

Catharsi: Hmm... I probably have been looking in the wrong place. Next time I go there I'll ask someone.

Lunawolf: Heh heh. But Walmart normally doesn't have very good lace (at t least the store by my house doesn't) If can't can find it anywhere else, I'll drive to a larger store. (The Walmart closest to me is tiny!)

cloudyhead: I tried dying a dress black one time... Went totally wrong and it turned out this sickening grey color. Thanks for the idea, though.

(I didn't feel like reply to each of your ideas in a seperate post, so I just put it all on one. Thanks for your suggestions!)

what dyeing method did you use? i think lace would be easier because its not so large or thick, plus you could dye in bulk.

Dying would be a good idea, but only if what you're dying is a natural material (ie cotton, wool, etc).
That's pro'lly why your dress came out grey; it was pro'lly some artificial blend that won't take dye.
And since most fabrics are now artificial blends...I've never ventured to do anything with that bottle of dye sitting above my dryer... >_>;
