.::. BUCK-TICK .::.

BUCK-TICK began in 1983 under the name Hinan go-go. The original line-up was::
Vocals: Araki (full name never released)
Guitars Hisashi Imai and Hidehiko Hoshino
Bass: Yutaka Higuchi
Drums: Atsushi Sakurai
The band didn't gain the name BUCK-TICK until after after their first few songs were released, then Imai renamed it. Creative differences soon began to push the memebers apart, the other four didn't like the punk style Araki was pushing them into. Eventually, Araki left, leaving htrem without a vocalist. Atsushi Sakurai took over vocals but they were then left with no drummer. Toll, Yutaka's older brother, took over on B-T's drums after the band he was in broke up.
Since then, BUCK-TICK has been made up of the same five members, Atsushi Sakurai on vocals, Hisashi Imai on guitar, Toll Yagami on drums, Yutaka Higuchi on bass, and Hidehiko Hoshino on guitar. The band has a long history, starting out as a Visual Kei act and although they were famous, the band was not as highly recognized as some other bands of their time such as X-Japan. TOday their record label is BMG Japan.
The name BUCK-TICK comes from the Japanese phrase "baku chiku" meaning fire-cracker but translated into English it was read as Buck-Tick and thus the name stayed.
Their sound early on was that of your typical 80's rock band, laid back and upbeat. As time wore on, they experimented with different styles and some of their newer songs have something of a pop touch to them.
