You know Barbie, the doll whom almost all of us girls played with? Now I've heard and read of this many times, but there were people who have calculated Barbie's proportions, and they said if she were human, she would be about seven feet tall, weigh about eighty pounds, and be about a size 1 (I'm not sure about this one, but... I'm positive I've got the height and weight down).

Now, if you were super-thin, yet most of your weight were in your breasts like Barbie, how could you walk?! Or, mor importantly, HOW COULD YOU SURVIVE?!?!?! gonk I can't believe people want to look like that! Sure, make me feel more inadequate than I already am! crying

Oh, and as for Ken, I don't know what his dimensions are, but I'm sure he'd fall on his man-boobs.

First give her some real female organs, then we can talk... lol

Yeah, she is completely disproportionate. And she wouldn't have space inside her body for most organs either (you know, lugs, hearth, stomach...) sweatdrop

To be fair, she is a doll, and as such her primary biological function is to beguile children into buying her accesories.

From what I am told the original plans for the barbie doll were found in Hitler's bunker, and some soldier took them home, but that may just be a myth.

Yea that is a myth. Some American chick made them after watching her children play with paper cut out dolls they had made.

Well, I've noticed the "My Scene" dolls as well as the Bratz dolls, but they anger me even more, since... is it just me, or are dolls even bigger fashion freaks than before? o_O Are intelligent, shorter dolls ever gonna sell? Mebbe not. -.-;

This may be a little off-topic, but do you know what the average anime character's proportions are? I know that the women are supposed to be about seven or eight heads and the men are supposed to be about eight or nine heads (from the "How to Draw Manga" series), but they almost never look like the dimensions that the artist intended to give them (for instance, Usagi/Serena from Sailor Moon is only 4'11", while she looks about 5'6")!

Okay first of all let is be honest..... Its a doll produced by a society that forces stereotypes onto the populace...... what would you expect????
