Which one do you like better?
Personally I think both of them are wonderful. Their musics are great, they both have respectable voices.
I personally like Ayumi's voice just a little more, she has a lovely voice range she could be cute and squeaky, angelic, to low and majestic. However, in Boa's defence, Ayumi has had more years of singing then Boa.
Ayumi also seems..real..oh so real (don't get me wrong, Boa is not fake or anything) She doesn't hold that high and mighty professional air she can be a clutz sometimes, forgets her lyrics, but then takes it in with good humor, and even replaces her lyrics that she forgets (in her concert while singing Truama) with a little verse- "I forgot my lyrics, it's no good"
She wrote every one of her lyrics, those they aren't all brilliant and such they are filled with so much emotion from life expierences and poignant. AND she doesn't lipsync (we know that by the fact she forgets her lyrics sometimes)
Boa's songs are so good, I love her music and her in general so much she's worked very hard and started her career since the age of 10 (debuted at age 13) she's accomplished so much, winning so many awards, winning top spots, knows 4 languages, she's taking the Asian culture by storm.

*runs away from rabid ayu fans* ninja
oh, and no one can even come close to BoA's dancing skills. i just find her more talented all-around.

I usually listen to BoA more than I do Ayumi, mainly because BoA has songs in Korean and Chinese too. prefer BoA but I still think Ayumi is a geart singer.

hmm, I think it has to depend on their song. I mean, don't get me wrong, I like BoA, but I think there are a lot better Japanese artist out there besides her (coming from a Jrock fan) XDDD mrgreen

I like BoA better, but I like Ayumi too! They're both great singers, I just like BoA's because she's got a lot of upbeat songs beside those slower ones she has. And she's a great dancer too! 4laugh Even though she's not really Japanese (as I first thought she was sweatdrop ), she can speak and sing in the language so well too! blaugh
I like Ayumi's more sentimental songs though. Perfect when you want to calm down biggrin

I like Boa sometimes because I love the Korean language (the Korean version of Every Heart is hands down, my favorite version) but I really like Ayumi's lyrics more.

I thought Boa was Korean in background. I'm not sure o.O when I saw her Cds at my cousin's house, they were in Korean.
Go Korea!
I haven't heard a ton of Ayumi, so I'd have to say Boa. But I like both of them.

You haven't seen Koda Kumi dance ^_^ Find the video called Butterfly. ah, yes, i like koda kumi too, but in a different way. that butterfly video is quite sexy, and a very good song too. still, you can count on amazing dancing for every upbeat song of boa's, unlike koda kumi. it's kind of like... routine, really, and that's part of boa's allure for me. for koda-san, she's my favourite sexy-kakkoii singer. sweatdrop
