The day is bright, even though the jungle trees, and it's late morning. Walking along through the trees is a young brown and white leopardess, her head is held high and she steps with intentional grace though no one is around to impress. Not that she knows of. With a soft hum to herself, she stops beside a tree where she has stored her last hunt. Her steel blue eyes scan around her, though it's not so easy from the ground because of all of the trees.
"Alright," she says low to herself, then gets back to her feet and climbs to the lowest branch on the tree. Then she takes another look around.

[ Majani bounded through the jungle brush. The damp air feeling as though it was weiging him down, his breathing slightly harder than normal. What a morning. It seemed he had been leaving Halili and his little clearing more and more often as of late. But there was so much to see and do! Surely Halili would forgive him. He was planning on spending more time with her as they grew together.
He tripped over himself several times, before deciding to stop and rest for a while. "So... Tierd..." he panted and lay on the wet ground. ]

Mleli's ears turn when she hears the sounds of something heading her way, something that was moving at a decent pace. She looks over her shoulder in the direction of the bounding, looking unconcerned. Until she spots the young lion, who happens to come and sits very near her current perch.
"Heh," she mumbles to herself, looking around again and having no intention of saying anything to the little lion.

[ Majani sighed. Maybe it was a bad idea to wander around today. He glanced around, hoping to see something, or someone, to talk to. His gaze was turned toward the tree branches, then another animal. What was it though? "Excuse me!" he tried getting it's attention, "What are you?" he was quite puzzed. How did it get up in that tree? Shouldn't it of fallen as it tried? ]

Mleli looks back down at the lion when she hears it call out to her, then gives a quick sigh before getting to her feet. It'd be rude to ignore the creature even if the question wasn't so polite, in her mind, so she leaps down from the tree and smirks.
"I am a leopard," she explains in a proud voice, her tone becomes less flattering when she continues, "And you are a lion." It almost sounds like it's a question, but it is infact just her pointing out the difference.
"What are you doing out here?" she asks, her tone is mildly curious.

[ He stared in shock. How did it manage to jump that far? He grinned at her and said "Yes. A lion!" He puffed out his cheast. He was very proud of his lion stature. "I live in the jungle... With Halili, another lion. She's such a sweetie!" even though she was a little on the slow side, he still liked her. "Why are you here?" he tilted his head in wonder. ]

The leopardess didn't show it, but then jump hadn't been like landing on clouds, it did hurt a little bit to land from even that lowest branch. She raises an eyebrow at the little one when he proudly agrees that is a lion, shaking her head. Typical lion, she scoffs. It doesn't occur to her that she feels the same way about being a leopard.
"Ah, a couple small lions living in the jungle?" she asks, "Or is this Halili bigger than you are? I also live in the jungle, but here to be more specific."

[ Majani bounced up and down, gleefully. He was still exited about meeting someone of a different race! Maybe it was a god day to come out to play! "We aren't small!" he protested. "We're medium sized! And Halili is my size! A little older though." It hurt to admit that he was younger, but he could work though it! "I like the jungle... It's quiet and when you meet someone, you become happy!" ]

"You aren't big, though," Mleli counters his protest, eyeing the beginnings of his mane. Admittedly, she herself wasn't exactly an adult, but in a young male lion is obvious that they aren't fully grown yet because of the mane.
"So you aren't siblings then," she notes from the fact this other lion is a little older, "The jungle is nice, but it depends who you meet." Her voice is confident, but not entirely friendly.

[ Majani pouted. "So? I can sort of defend myself..." he kicked his paws around. She was staring at his ... part of a mane. It was samll and nothing to be proud of.
"I hope we're not siblings. It would be akward. And yes.. It is nice." He shook off the sad and pounced at her. "OH! What's your NAME?" How silly of him to have forgotten! ]

Her head lifts proudly at the expression on his face when he says he can defend himself, and realizes that she's eyeing his mane. But the suddeness with which he pounces at her startles her, and she scrambles back with a hiss. Silly self defense, completely unnecessary but natural. She shrugs her shoulders a bit to regain her composure.
"My name is Mleli," she replies stiffly, "I suppose you'll tell me your name?"

[ "AH!" Majani jumped. He didn't think she would hiss at him! He scrambled back a foot or two before speaking again. "I..I'm Majani." He forced out and kept his distance. "Are you.. Gonna do that alot??" He was refering to her hssing. ]

Mleli watches the lion back off, pleased to see that he didn't like being hissed at. She looks smugly at him, shaking her head gently in response to his question.
"No, I won't if you don't startle me," she explains, sparing no effort in sound apologetic. That would be admitting it's her own fault.
"Majani," she repeats his name, considering it, "Interesting name."

[ This lepord thing was CRAZY! Calm, to angry, to calm again in meer moments! "Don't you think you startled me? I was just playing around with you! Say sorry!" His voice was a little shaky still, which upset him deeply. "My name means Grass. Which makes no sence for I am not green." He inspected himself. Nope. No green anywhere. ]

"Well, I'm not used to having creatures leap at me," she doesn't sound pleased, and whatever semi-friendly tone she'd used before is lost, "If something was thrown at you, would you duck or let it hit you in the head? If something leaps at me unexpectedly, I defend myself. And I'm pleased to say it worked, didn't it?"
"If it means that much to you, I'm sorry," she adds, then moves back into the conversation about his name in a more conversational tone, "And that's exactly why your name is interesting. Of course, I'm not feathered." She gives a small shrug, for there's no arguing that she doesn't have any tail feathers, but her name is still Mleli. Choosing a name can, seemingly, be metaphorical, or just plain random.
