 Lian had rode his skateboard all the way down to the local ice skating rink. It was another one of those sweltering 90 degree summer days with no cooling trend in sight. He had enough of staying indoors to keep cool thanks to his thick fur coat. Besides ice skating isn't that different from roller blading right?
He grumbled a bit after having to hand over his skateboard to the people at the desk. Its not like he was going to board inside the place anyways. Lian handed over the rental fee and got his ice skates. So much money just to borrow a pair of shoes. After picking out an empty table and dumping his bag on it he laced up and headed out. Only to stop and shuffle back to put some knee pads on. Who knows how much ice hurts when you fall on it.

  There were voices from the doorway.
"But MAAA.."
"Oi, no buts!"
"I do wanna go... so scary.."
"Why would it be scary?! You're a winter animal!"
Silence.
A rather thin, blonde-haired boy walked into the building. He was shouting at the top of his lungs while a taller (but still short) girl followed, doing the same. He looked no more than 4 years old and was frowning and glaring to his full capability at the girl.
Following the meander of the path leading up to the desk, Nev said breathelessly, "Two...pairs... please. Size.. 2 and 6... I believe. And ... pads" before pulling the weasel back to the front desk. Pushing a few coins forward, she recieved a small pair of black skates with a larger pair of white ones. Dragging the boy over to the chairs, she pulled the boy's purple boots off and slid his foot into the skates, attempting to lace it.
"Owie.. MA, that too tight!!" Roule pulled at Nev's hair, frustration building up in his cheeks.
"Mmmmh alriiight." She answered exasperatedly, loosening them up a tad. Putting elbow pads and knee pads on the small boy, she then laced herself up and tossed the two pairs of shoes and a purse inside one of the Rent-A-Lockers on the other side before picking the boy up awkwardly and waddling over to the rink.

Okay so it wasn't like roller blading, big deal. Lian shuffled across the ice watching others glide by. His shuffled looked akward and slow compared to everyone elses fast strides. Only the little kids were at the edges holding on to the railing or some couple supporting each other all lovey dove.
"Eh that makes me sick." he muttered while turning away. Girls still had cooties alright. "I can't be stuck on the side like this."
Lian pushed off and had a pretty good start, well till he headed towards that lady and her fuzzy son. Well he kind of looke dlike a mouse actually..wait he was going to crash into them, there was time to think about that.
"Ah watch out." Lian yelled as he tried to stop himself. Well he did but only after tripping over his other foot. "UMPH" And there he crashed right infront of them. Well if that wasn't embarassing what was?

Roule refused to step onto the ice. He clung to Nev and squawked loudly when she tried to put him down.
"Come on mia vita!" She grunted, attempting to remove him from her clothing.
"Maaaa.." he murmured, burying his face in her hoodie, "what if I fallll?"
"Well, it's cold and you like cold!" She say, finally placing him onto the ice. He squeaked before falling with a thump on the ice. Scowling, the boy pulled himself up with the banisters.
"See, it's not TOO difficult."
The girl skated not WELL, but good enough. She pushed long strides and attempted to twirl awkwardly a few times. Looking back at the weasel, she clucked her tongue.
"Come onnn, Roule, look at everyone else. You can do this!"
The weasel boy sniffed and attempted to stand up but slid down again. She looked around. Any instructors? She thought impatiently, attempting to keep Roule upright.
A second later, something throttled itself into her side. She grunted before crumpling onto the banister. Looking down, she saw an odd, burgundy coloured blonde child on the ground.
"Oooh.." she began as Roule tried to pull himself up. "Are you alright? Gah, I shouldn't have been standing here at all.."

"Ah I'm really sorry... yes i'm fine." he turned red a bit, whether you could notice a blush with all that red hued fur or not. "I'm sorry, its my fault." Lian shuffled quickly back unto his feet, clinging to the banister. "I don't know how to brake...' He said quitely. Lian let go after he was sure his feet wouldn't kick out from underneath him on the ice.
his tail twitched idlely before he noticed the weasel kid again. " Hey are you from D-corp too?" He grinned.

Nev nodded, "Nah, it's alright. It takes a while to learn." She dusted the flakes of ice and snow off and then turned to her son. "Oi Roule, you a'ight?"
Roule grunted and stood up, glaring at the girl. She gave a cheshire-cat grin. Looking across to the burgundy panda, Roule nodded unsurely. "Uhhh.. ya... you frum DCORP awell?" He wasn't clinging to the banister anymore, but the boy's legs were trembling slightly, along with his bottom lip. Roule looked like he was trying to decide whether to throw a tantrum or cry his eyes out.
"Aaa.. I standing.. sortroff.." He murmured, staring at himself and the black skates. His knees were buckled inwards as the weasel attempted to stabilize himself. Nev gave him a hand and he stood up, still shaking slightly.

"I wish it was just like roller blading though." he sort of sounded like he was pouting but didn't really show it. Turning his attention to the smaller kid. "Yea. I just saw my dragon egg a couple of days ago. You'll get to see yous too some time. " His tail flicked, almost hitting some one passing by, throwing them a bit off balance. Lian frowned noticing Roule looking rather unhappy.
"It doesn't hurt that bad, and its kind of like an adventure doing a new thing." he pushed forward a bit, but started to lose his balance. Diggin one of the heels in stopped him but it also almost knocked himself over again. "Okay so thats not the best example.." Lian laughed but it came out more as a stuttering nervous laugh, not at all like he intendted. "Er."

Roule blushed slightly, "I donno how to rorrer.. blade.." he said softly, eyeing the panda.
His eyes widened at the mention of a dragon. "Really?! What diyurs look like?!" His voice hitched in excitement! Wow! This boy almost had a dragon! Roule was slightly jealous and extremely excited. They were so cool! So far, he had only met one other person with a dragon.. snakey.. thing. Pausing, he pouted. "Yeaa.. Ma says I should be good at dis.. but I not.."
Nev scowled. "Well, you are a "winter" creature and stuff! You shouldn't be afraid of the cold or ice." She grinned at Lian wolfishly and pointed a finger, "Oh, don't dig your heels in so much. You cause a dent in the ice and then you trip over that. Easier to give enough momentum to propel yourself but not enough for you to fall over."
Roule watched his mom skate. He should be able to do this!

"Ah well maybe you can try roller skating some time. All the wheels aren't in a row and its easier to skate." He really didn't mean to say that for commenting. Oh well he was like that when he was younger... maybe.
"Yea the egg was about this big." Lian held up his hands to show how big it was, around basketball sized by the look. " It was purple with dark purple swirls on it. The lady said when it hatched it'd be a six legged air serpent like.. ah this dragon, cept with more legs." He pointed at the chinese dragon on his shirt. "Its not hatched yet though..."
"Well I didn't know that. my dad didn't tell me how to ice skate." He pulled out his heel and tried again. It went a little better this time though he aimed himself at the wall with the banister. " Ah you're right." Lian glided over towards the pair again, with out as much trouble this time.

Roule nodded. It sounded.. sort of like fun. Hopefully, it wouldn't hurt as much. And also, with the approval of Ma as well. (But she probably wasn't any good at rollerblading...huh.)
Listening, the boy watched him intently. He wanted to know everything about dragons! Hopefully, someone would give him one someday. "..wow.. 6 legs? that scary.." The boy said, slightly miffed. Could something move with six legs? He wondered about that. "Do know when it hatch?"
His sentences were really fragmented, but then again, he didn't exactly know perfect grammar.
Nev beamed at Lian. "Ahh, but I bet he does alot more useful things than teaching you how to iceskate anyways. Is your dad here?" She asked, hoping to meet another parent. They always seemed so nice to meet.

"There are bugs that have more legs then my dragon will. Like a spider." Lian grinned maybe the kid was scared of creepy crawlers. "No, but I'm sure Dcorp will tell me when it does."
"Yea I guess so. I came here by myself cause my dad was finishing moving my uncle in." He didn't say uncle in the nicest tone. Maybe they had a fight or purhaps they didn't get along. Lian glanced down at his watch. "He should be here now though." He turned to look towards the entrance for him. Maybe he was getting his skates...

Roulette thought curiously about a spider. A thing with more legs than 6! How many did it have? 7? 8? 60? 60 would have to be it, because that was the highest number he knew.
"Uweeh.. will it be a long time?" He asked, slightly pestering now. A dragon! He was so lucky. ..Hmm, did Roule even know his name?!
Nev nodded, her eyebrow crinkling slighty. "I see. Well, if your dad comes, make sure to introduce me and him! I love to meet more parents, 'cause I think I've really neglected everything for the past few months."
Roule prodded the panda provacatively. "Oi oi," he said, eyes wide, "whats your name? Ma diden tell me.. Me Roule!" He gave a small smile in compensation of a handshake.

"It feels like a long time. my drogon was in a shrine like thing, and it needed to be respected or something." Lian scratched behind his ear. Yea that sounded right.
He turned his attention back to the woman. " Okay. he likes talking to ladies so i don't think that'll be a problem." Ah children and the way they say things with out thinking sometimes. But before he could comment anymore on his fathers habits, the little white weasel wanted his attention again.
" Oh my names Lian, or Lee if thats easier for you to say. Nice to meet you Roule." he smiled back.

"Ooh... reespeck?" Roule had absolutely no clue what that meant, but sure, he could go along. Ma was usually good at pretending to know stuff when she really didn't.
The boy nodded, almost meekly to the larger boy. "Aaa, nice to meet you .. too, Lee." He glanced over at his Ma who had began talking.
"Ooooh, really?" She said, grinning. She really wasn't the "compliment" type, but it was nice in a while. Shrugging, Nev turned back to skating, attempting to pirouette. Not getting farther than a few awkward (and rather painful) looking twirls, she came back, wondering what the boys were talking about.

"What do you like to do?" Lian skated slowly, he wasn't feeling up to trying anything more risky. The boy didn't really want to end up with anymore bruises then he already had. "I like to skateboard when its not really hot outside.."
