The caravan rumbled into the Twiggle Forest only a few days after their wide circle about Enallas. Oqaia's mind, for one, had been eased and cleared by the sight of their gypsy brothers and sisters- those many readings she'd had for the sake of the slew of Banya Fortunes were far from her thoughts as they entered the shady beauty of the Twiggle. Valelldia, however, had her mind set upon the events that the Banyas had foretold- and even the least cryptic of fortunes- had only added to the greater mystery of what would happen.

And what she did understand... she knew she could not tell those under her care. ...That would affect their choices, and there certainly were choices to be made. That, the meij had made quite clear. It was the only thing it had done so about, it seems.

The cool whispers of the winds seemed to fade once they met with the wall of forest. Filtering down through the leaves and branches after they were caught, those telling winds seemed only to say..

Welcome.... to the Forest....

^_^ Alrighty people. Feel free to rp- we are travelling, but nice n' steady- enough that you can set your oxen/donkeys/horses to follow the person ahead of you and walk alongside someone else's wagon to talk or to crawl up onto their leadseat with them. This is the last chance you have to discuss the meij fortunes, or to try and decide to stick together with someone- or to prepare. Do NOT attempt to insert new characters/NPC's into the Rp, as that will be my role a little later. However, feel free to rp amongst yourselves.
Note: Not all gypsies/Fortunettes have been plotted as main players in this event, but I reserve the right to pull heavy rp'ers into the main mix at my discretion. ^_^
Any questions, please PM me at Oqaia.

|Woo, first post for Mene. heart Hehe.|
Caroline smiles as she leans back, allowing Cornelius to break into an even, steady pace. The mule's used to working in a line, so knows to just...follow the wagon in front of 'im. "'At's a good boy," she says to him. After a moment, she calls to Rojiza, who's riding in back, "How are our wee feathered friends faring, Ro?" Rojiza had chosen to ride inside the wagon rather on the seat with her mother, for the purpose of taking care of the Banyas. Taog's known for having his feathers ruffled easily, and she doesn't precisely know about Finnean yet. Either way, best to err on the side of caution.
"I'm going to walk alongside the wagon. I feel like I've been sittin' up here for hours!" Caroline hops down from the wagon seat, walking alongside her own beloved wagon. What her main purpose is, though, is to find Marissa and discuss the fortunes one last time, and perhaps suggest that they stick together, make choices together, and ultimately try and protect both Fortunettes as best they can.

"Still playing with that trinket, iubito?"

Marissa chuckled, throwing a glance back at Kale, who had all of his treasures lined up in the wagon. He now had two smashed coins, the warmstone, and a piece of flint. A trove to rival any majesty, as far as he was concerned. He fiddled with them, turning them upside down or tapping them together. He was displeased with the dropping temperature of the shady forest- he much preferred the heat of the Enallas.

Marissa welcomed the coolness. She treasured the breeze and took a deep breath. Still, as much as the weather agreed with her, she could not swallow the lump in her throat, thinking of the Banyas and their fortunes.

Emelyn steadied her oxen, and gave them the ha'ing command with a light click of her reign-tip to continue to follow Blessed Change. Then, she hopped down from her leadseat and stood still as the wagons slowly moved past her, waiting to see who was alert in the wagons behind her- which was pretty much every wagon. The woman always seemed to find herself near the head of the wagontrain- which she enjoyed... but sometimes it made her long for the comraderie and togetherness shown by those in the middle of the long line of wagons.

Pierre sat in the leadseat in her place, holding the reigns but not actually directing the oxen. Emelyn knew that a day would come soon that she would teach him to drive... but something about that mysterious glimmer of mischief in his eyes told her it was a long ways in coming.

She gave him a curt wave, then waited for the other wagons to pass her. Pierre, in the meantime, took the now-used familiar whistle from his neck, and placed it on the seat next to him. He'd been playing with it since it had summonded the owl that he'd named D.O. ...He'd told his mother that it stood for Dark Omen... but really, it was short for Damn Owl. The harkcall familiar didn't seem to mind, however- perching inside the rafters of the wagon, mostly hiding himself from view except to fly out one of the windows when they moored for the night. He always returned by morning, however.

Pierre was tired with the little red whistle now, having blown it for two or three days and revealing no new animals of note. So he put it down, summarily forgetting it existed, and dove back into the bulk of the wagon to take a nap.

((Sizzla: If you want to steal it, it's sitting there on the seat. ...Or, you can talk to Em and she'll give it to you. ^_^ Either way, matters not.))

Caroline found her way up to Marissa and Kale's wagon. The trek was only getting past three or so wagons. She hops up onto the porch-like step that precedes the door, and knocks. "Marissa?" she calls. "It's Caroline. I've a need t'be speakin' wi'ye."

Rojiza notes with alarm that nobody is driving this thing, but then figures that her mother wouldn't have left unless it was safe. Yes, she notes at last. Cornelius seems to be following Varekai just fine. She strokes the two Banyas, swinging contentedly (for now) in their cages. Someday she'd let them out to fly around, but only when she's sure they'd come back.

Kale hears the knock and makes it to the door first, struggling to pull it open. He grins up at Caroline when he sees her, raising his arms, asking greedily to be picked up. Marissa cranes her neck backwards, but as soon as she sees the visitor, abandons her post near the front of the wagon and greets Caroline warmly. "Welcome, prieten," she says with a smile. She invites Caroline to sit at the velvet-cushioned bench that rests beneath the wagon's single window.

"Aye, Kale!" she exclaims, picking the boy up and sticking him on a hip. "An' what a bonny wee zorro we have here, eh?" she says, tweaking his nose gently. She then smiles more calmly at Marissa. "Always nice t'see ye, Marissa, hermana." She sits down on the bench, shifting Kale to her lap and bouncing her legs lightly. "We need to be speakin'. These woods....they feel magicked."

Kale is thrilled by the attention, content to sit happily and listen to the adult's conversation.

Marissa, with a deep breath, nods. "Aye," she says, "They do. The banyas have been picking up on it the most." The woman gestures to the birds on the gilded perches. Aryel is ruffling her feathers nervously, as Lucia yawns in aggitation. "I believe the choice, whatever it may be, is growing near." Her tone is grave.

Caroline nods again, idly letting Kale play with her hands, decorated with heavy rings. "Aye. It seems Kale and Rojiza play a large part in this choice. Mayhap it'd be wise for us to stay together. Inform each other. Make our choices after conferencin'." She casts a look at the two Banyas, wondering what predictions would come from her own two birds in the future.

"I agree," she murmurs. "It's the safest, smartest thing for us to do." She watches her son amuse himself, his sweet features so bright with glee at the sparkling jewelery. She glances out the window. "Are...Are you scared?" she asks softly. She sounds foolish; she doens't care.

"Aye, I'm terrified," replies Caroline, remaining calm. "I'd be a fool if I wasna 'fraid. But we've got to be strong. Perservere, and all that. We'll make it through. The Meij wouldna give us a task we couldna handle." She pats Marissa's hand comfortingly, shifting Kale's weight to a more comfortable situation on her lap.

Marissa meets Caroline's eyes and smiles. She admires this woman, so able to keep her head, so faithful in the mysterious meij stream. "You're right," she says. "We'll just... chin up, and be strong."

Kale, growing restless, whines softly and makes a move to leave Caroline's lap, anxious to get back to his treasures.

Caroline sets Kale back on the floor, remembering fondly the times when her energetic little girl was this small. Not so long ago...
She smiles at Marissa. "Durn right we will!" she exclaims. "But listen. Ro's new Banya bird prophesied something about fae. Now, I havena much experience with the fae folk, but wee Finnean said that they'd adore my little girl." She doesn't complete the full prophecy, about how Ro thinks everyone likes Caroline better than her.

Kale doesn't bother getting to his feet and crawls back to his collection. He pushes them all together to make a little pile, setting the warmstone gently on top.

Marissa takes a moment to consider. "Hm," she begins, "Well...I can't say I know much either. I've heard that fae are fondest of beautiful things, jewelery, for instance. Anything that sparkles. Could that relate to Rojiza?" She frowns in thought.
