I just got moved into my dorms here at BYU I and the spirit of this place is so nice and nearly all my room mates are younger than me it is sooooo crazy
But more on the serious side of things the spirit here even walking around is so filling I do feel like what my mom said"Its like kicking through rose petals in church but at BYU it is like you are swimming in them." It is soo true.
So anyone else here? or feel the same at places you may have been.

Actually, this might seem odd but I'd never concider going to any of those. Why? Well I find that I do better in a lesser mormon environment becaues I can stand up - and out- for my beliefs. But, at those types of schools you can see other Mormons doing things they shouldn't and it can make you think "well they are lds and they do it..." I'd rather not thanks.

i didn't get accepted to BYU, so I went to texas--met my hubby. it's easier to choose a guy in a place where there aren't a lot of options razz who knows...i may have met him at byu(cause he was there), but might have liked a different guy. *shrugs* small schools are good, better than large schools, in my opinion.

Large schools offer more classes. I was going to go to Roy High this year, a 4A school. But no we're moving to hell Southern Utah, and I'm going to the SMALLEST High school ever built. They offer 1 computer class. only 1 type of band. which has orchestra in it, because they're both so small! I hate it!!!!!!!! crying crying scream gonk stressed sweatdrop evil evil eek crying stare scream gonk

I was talking about colleges, but that's very true about large schools....i think that's the only good thing about large schools....small schools aren't as crowded, which i like

My band teacher is mormon and went to BYU I, and he said it was great. In fact, while he was there, his class worked A LOT on building up the music program, so I know it's gotta be good, so I'm planning on going there, for now, but who knows what God has in store for me?

I love BYU-I!!!! I chose it because I like small schools. My view on it is BYU has strength in academics and BYU-I has strength in fellowship and student unity. One of my fav things is walking home for lunch and hearing the clock tower play hymns. I know they do that at BYU too. I'm not sure if they do this there, but they do at BYU-I; everyone says hi to you in passing. You could have never seen them before in your life and never will again and will never even carry on a conversation together, but you'll say hi and exchange a smile. It's awesome!

I think it depends on the person whether it would be best for them to go to a BYU, or other school. Some environments are just better for certain people. I'm currently going to a community college before I go any where else so I can figure out what I want to do before I start spending a whole bunch of money on classes that I could just easily take in a community college.
I'm not sure where I will go from here, all my sisters graduated from BYU, but that may not be the best school for what I want to major in, so I'm going to shop around, so to speak.
