So every year a city near mine (3 hour drive) puts on this festival. They perform 2 Shakespeare plays and in the past few years my mom and I have started going. However we generally only get to see one of the two plays. This year we may be lucky enough to see both but if not which would people suggest we go see?
The Taming of the Shrew
Or
Two gentlemen of Verona

TotS is really funny x3
It's a bit like My Fair Lady (if that's the right one... with Eliza Doolittle and the rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain?)

My Fair Lady is the one with eliza doolittle etc but, I don't see many connections between that and Taming of the Shrew. Of course, my only exposure to Taming of the Shrew is when my school did Kiss Me Kate.

I didn't really like Taming of the Shrew. That paly takes a really cool chracter and destroys her. the other one I have yet to see. I'm going to the Shakespeare festival in Canada in a couple weeks but i can't remember what all we are seeing.

I'm partial to Taming of the Shrew. It's where my username comes from!
"You are called plain Kate, And bonny Kate and sometimes Kate the curse; But Kate, the prettiest Kate in Christendom Kate of Kate Hall, my super-dainty Kate, For dainties are all Kates, and therefore, Kate, Take this of me, Kate of my consolation."

The Taming of the Shrew can be played so that Kate is not tamed as much as choosing to be allied with Petruchio. That's how my community theater just finished running it. We actually ended the play by having Kate pie Petruchio in the face, which was really fun.
I would choose Taming of the Shrew in your position. It's a fun play, especially with the right director.

Well, seeing as Taming of the Shrew has an overwhelming majority, my vote is so not neccesary...
But still, TotS is about a bazillion times better than Two Gentlemen blah blah blah.

Well, since everyone agrees on TotS that's what my mom and I have decided to see. We're going this weekend. *^^* Thanks a ton, I honestly knew nothing about either of the plays.
