how ironic that you mention that game, since i got both digial devil saga 1 and 2 not too long ago. i havent had the opportunity to play them in any great detail, but it looks not to dissapoint. i just finished persona 2 last night, so dds is next on my rpg to-play list.

The only ATLUS game I played was Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne and it an awesome game. The gameplay is fantastic like being able to recruit enemies to your side on the battle field (with a "cost" of course), fuse two demon to create a more powerful demon, getting (almost) all the bosses on your side as well, but only with fusing of course, customize move skills for your character and tons tons of other stuff you can do in the game. The graphics look great I like the gothic art style in Nocturne and the music rocks. This game is one of my favorite RPG games and it's the game that made wanna get back into the RPG genre again. I can't wait to get my hands on Digital Devil Saga 1&2 and Devil Summoner, which is (currently)coming out this October. I hear that Persona is another great RPG series I'll have to play the first one someday.

ive played the first persona, it was fantastic... apart from the translation, which was godawful. i prefer persona 2 eternal punishment to the first one though...

im making decent progress in digital devil saga 1 right now. i find the skill aquisition system quite compelling, even if it is similar to ffx's grid system. overall i think DDS1 has a better skill learning system then nocturne, since you never lose any skill, ever. that was one thing that pissed me off about nocturne. though the monster fusion system made it like a demonic pokemon of sorts, it worked quite well. if you knew what you were doing, you could make some god powerful monsters for your team.
