I've seen it... Have you?

If so, what did you think?

Would you see it again?

What did you like about it?

What didn't you like?

Don't be afraid to to share details!

SPOILERS FROM THIS POINT ON!

GREAT CEASER'S GHOST!
Super Son?
The Costume wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

Dislikes:

I thought it was unoriginal.

Lex Luthor, again!
Tries to ensure his rule over Earth by killing everyone on Earth with his property scam.
They recycled lines to help attach the new movie to the old ones.

No surprise when Lex and Supes re-unite.

They might as well have called the movie Lois Lane and Friends.

Lex Luthor used Superman's alien technology? confused

Cyclops/Richard White? stare

Blah!

I saw alot of points where the story could have been altered to be better. The Fortress really needs a big heavy key or something. rolleyes

As others mention things from the movie I will be able to comment more.

i think the suit looks great, tho i still miss the yellow symbol on the cape.

i know ur a fan of the classics and the comic books.. but with movies, u have to expect changes to b made for the character to b made likable/interesting to people other than the most die-hard of comic fans.

did u actually want something else to happen when superman finally sees luthor? sure, it was unnerving to see kumar rough our boy up a little, but luthor's old plan a is still his greatest.

as for the new twist they added, i pretty much expected it, but seeing it unfold was pretty exciting. i loved the whole "revelation" on the ship. biggrin cyclops wasnt so bad in it either.. i actually feel for him cuz his character sees the end of his family comin in the eventual sequels.

brando's recycled lines were used very well, n of course, they had to connect this movie to the first two reeve ones somehow. it is a sequel..

the classic references throughout the movie were great too! i love the car pose from the action comics cover, but my favorite is the "i didnt mean to startle you" line in the rooftop meeting. whee

the action scenes............ beautifully done of course. bein at that baseball game woulda been amazing! mrgreen

as i said in a different thread, i might also still b seduced by the 3-d imax scenes. wink

Likes: Spacey as Luthor. Whoever played Jimmy. Everyone was just so... THEM. And Routh did a great job as clumsy-ing it up to be Clark and charisma-ing it up when he was Superman.
Spacey's little "Krrrrrryptonite".
Jor El's little omniscient tidbits of advice.
Bullet in the eyeball FTW!
EDIT: Oh, and the random references to the comics of course. "How many f's in catastrophic?" And of course the car scene. Classic. Luff. Incarnate.

Dislikes: Superson. Meh. Kind of thought it was convoluted.
Luthor's GF. Thought Luthor would have smacked her long ago for being such a smart a**.
Does anyone realy want land that will give them cancer in a few years?

Overall impression: I would watch it again. And again. And buy it on special edition DVD when it comes out. I'm not a big Superman fan, but GAWD I loved that.

I wasn't really refering to Brando's lines.... I was refering to "Superman's" and Lois'.
I did like the part where Lex yelled at Lois.

xd YEah, that was pretty great. "Say it, just once" "You're insane" "No, not that one."

I definately felt it was a good homage to thr Chris Reeves Superman Movies. Hopefully it will keep the Super Hero Movie genre going.

I enjoyed how the film stayed along the lines of the Reeves films and thusly so the opening credits made me happy.

Spacey as Lex ("Krrrrrrryptonite!").

Action Comics #1 Superman car pose. whee

Lois and the smoking.

The Piano playin', hyperventalin', a** kickin'.

I liked how the film wasn't made so I would hate Richard in favor of the Man of Steel, that a normal individual could be just as worthy, caring, balanced, and courageous; a man qualified enough to go up against Superman as a suitor.

The best friggin' catch ever in a movie baseball game in my opinion. I like flashy iconic Superman-ness, what can I say.

The costume worked.

Jimmy eatin' his burrito.

Brando's lines; how and when they where inserted into the film.

Gotham was mentioned in a news broadcast.

I liked the fact that Lex got out because Superman missed his court date.

Routh did a good Clark and a good Supes, power to him.

Bosworth did way better then I thought she would, even if she wasn't as perky as Margot Kidder.

I personally enjoyed the plot and the pace it went at.

Dislikes:

More bumbly Clark-ness please. mad

I wouldn't buy property from Lex Luthor and somehow I don't think I'm the only one.

I totally wanted a General Zod reference.

Supes' kid stares. A lot.

The film did not explain much for people who have never seen the other films or don't know much about Superman. Didn't bother me but I can see where that might be troublesome to others.

While I enjoyed the plot I did have some issues with it that root mostly in the Gene Hackmen Luthor which has carried over to Spacy which has never really been like the comic Luthor. Comic Luthor would make his own technology to beat Superman with- and I kinda wanted to see the character drift away form the "I'm a criminal villain!" mentality that was his character in the Reeves films. But alas.

Dear Kevin Spacey:

I thought no one could ever replace Gene Hackman in my heart as the theatrical Lex Luthor. But you managed to kick Hackman out and stomp his face into the ground with your cold-hearted ruthlessness and dashes of comedic moments. You had me FOREVER when you stepped out of the shower in your bathrobe with toothbrush in hand.

Wipe your boots before you step in and settle down please. heart

P.S. How you met your end was both ironically delicious and hilarious to boot.

I still wont see this movie. Never was a big fan of superman, never will be. MAYBE if someone else rents it...or it when it comes out on Starz, then maybe I'll watch it.

Maybe.
