Traveling slowly through the Pridelands, Kirjava couldn't shake off this nervous feeling. It felt so weird being able to do whatever she wanted without a red pelt telling her what to do. It was like old times, though she was very skinny from lack of food and with a son by her side. Speaking of which, crimson eyes shifted towards her son. He seemed to be holding up pretty well after their long escape to this place. That was a good thing, she wasn't sure if she could handle anything happening to her son. A small smile made it's way to her muzzle, "Come on Ravi, let's go."
Golden eyes took in everything around him. This area was so green, a sharp contrast to the golden dunes of the desert, the only area Ravi ever knew. Feeling someone watching him, he shifted his gaze towards his mother and smiled. Nodding his head, he followed after her quietly.

Two lions went through the Pridelands as well, though no nervousness cloaked this, the only place either of them knew like the back of their paws. Rehani smiled down at her own son, who had seemed to gain a little bit of a brighter side since his encounter with the wild dog Chenza. Oh, she knew all about it. Where Baakir may act secretive, it only took a little persuasion to find out what she wanted. She hit at her little boy lightly with her tail, looking the other way as if innocent.
"Oh yeah. Real mature, mom." The black-backed tan lion pounced on the offending tail, giving it a small yank before darting beneath her. The juvenile was in a much better mood than he'd been in for a while, it seemed.

While traveling through the grassy plains, Kirjava took in and relished the feeling of grassy inbetween her paws. What a nice contrast to the sands from the desert. Padding quietly, sounds from the distance caught her attention immediately. Oh dear, they were going to get caught and get in trouble, possibly sent back to the Firekin as runaways. Crimson eyes scanned the area as she stood in front of her son. Lowering her head towards him, she whispered, "There are others out here, be careful. We don't want to cause any trouble, Ravi." She warned him before raising her head and looking around to find the source of the voices. If living in the desert had taught her one thing, she should be wary and alert for danger.
Bumping into his mother's paw, Ravi shook his head before glancing up. "Mom?" His mother stood there gazing around. That only meant one thing, she spotted others. He heard his mother's words and heeded them by hiding behind her. His tail curled around her back leg as he was scared. Ravi was hidden for all of his life, to keep him safe from the Firekin and therefore, he was scared of others. "Mom? Are we going to have to go back to the desert?"

Rehani moved to the side, turning her head to look at Baakir without his protection, smiling as the cub darted beneath her again. She ducked her head down in front. "Hi!" She said with a smile, those green eyes they shared lighting up.
Baakir smiled back, darting out from beneath her and running away from Rehani fast as his little legs would carry him.If he had inherited anything, he had inherited the want to play. He heard his mother's pawsteps behind him, aware that she was holding herself back from darting forward and grabbing him. "Can't catch meeeee!" he called out behind him, sticking out his tongue out at Rehani.

As the voices got closer, Kirjava could make out a lioness with her cub. Crimson eyes gazed at the female with faint recognition. This female looked very familiar. Shrugging it off, she couldn't dwell on it and replied back, "Hi!" Turning to her son, she nudged him to greet the others as well. He was too shy and quiet for his own good sometimes.
Ravi felt the nudge and stumbled to the ground. Scrambling back to his mother's side quickly, his golden eyes remained on the ground and stay quiet. He couldn't get any words to come out of his throat, he was too scared. Though, he snuck a few glanced at the others and noticed one large lion and a cub about his size.

As the voice spoke, Rehani did dart forth with full power, ensnaring Baakir and placing him by her side with a little difficulty. By the Circle, she wasn't going to be able to stop him soon. She looked at the newcomers, seeing another lioness and her cub. "Hi!" She said, looking over that pelt of theirs with interest. She had seen it before, a long, long, long time ago. But where?
Baakir didn't drt beneath his mother, holdinghis head up and proudlike as he looked at the two. Funny, huh? They looked alike the same way he and his mother did. "Hello! My name's Baakir!" He said in a friendly voice, looking between the two strange lions.

Crimson eyes looked to the cub and smiled slowly. As he introduced himself, Kirjava felt it was only right that she should do the same thing. "I'm Kirjava, it's nice to meet you, Baakir." Noticing her hiding son, she gently nosed him out. He was too shy. "And this is my son, Ravi. I hope we didn't interupt anything."
Shoved out of his hiding place by his own mother, Ravi mewed softly. Shyly, he looked towards the cub who called himself Baakir, to the lioness and then back to Baakir again. His mother introduced himself as he shyly greeted them, "Hi."

"Kirjava?" Rehani asked quietly, looking at the lioness with an absolutely shocked face. She knew that name, and she knew those memories. She looked down at Ravi, nodding while trying to supress the feeling of stupidity. After all this time... and they both had cubs, too! "Kirjava, it's me. Rehani. Remember? Me, you, Aleu, and Denahi used to play together when we were cubs."
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Kirjava and Ravi." He said, looking up at her mother as she spoke. Really? He turned his head back to the other lioness. This one had known both his mother and father when they had been littler than him? And who on earth was Aleu? Oh well. No use pondering over the ramblings of oldies. He turned to the shy cub, taking a few steps forward. "Whya hiding?"
((I needto getto bed. I'll respond sometime tomorrow. G'night, Kirei!))

As the lioness recognized her, Kirjava's eyes got wide. Rehani...Rehani...now why did that name sound familiar? Oh yes, because she had met Denahi in the desert and that made her think of Rehani. A smile grew across her features as she remembered playing with Rehani. Wow, that seemed like so many moons ago, and now they were grown up! "Rehani! It's been such a long time! I thought you looked familiar!" She took a few steps forward to nuzzle her friend.
Ears turned as his mother recognized a long-lost friend. Golden eyes got wide as Ravi looked up at his mom. She sure knew a lot of lions! As Baakir talked to him, he meekly replied, "I've..I've never met anyone before, other than my Auntie Kib."

Rehani smiled, nuzzling back her old friend. "What have you been up to since forever ago?" She asked, tail flicking behind her. Surely Kirjava had been happy and safe, same as herself. After all, she had a little one. With a small look down, she wondered who the cub's father was, and if Kirjava had any others.
"I haven't met many, and I'm not scared. Come on, let's play." He said, hoping the other young one would agree.

As Baakir asked Ravi to go and play, Kirjava thought that was a good idea. Her son needs to interact more with others, especially cubs his own age. Lowering her head to nudge him towards Baakir, "Go and play, I'll be right here with Rehani." Crimson eyes watched as her son slowly crept over to Baakir to have some fun. She turned her attention back towards Rehani, "I guess there's a lot to tell you, especially since we've just escaped our former pride. We were slaves to the Firekin."
Feeling his mother's nudge, Ravi took it that it was time to leave the two alone. Walking slowly over towards Baakir, he gave a small smile. "Let's play then," he paused, "But, I don't know of anything to play. I've never played before."

"Slaves," Rehani said quietly. Denahi had been a slave... had he known she was there? With a little one? She couldn't blame him for escaping when he did, and she was glad that he had. But he couldn't tell her? "Stupid Firekin," she mumbled, glaring in the general direction of the desert.
"Well, for the first time, it'd probably be bestto play tag. Tag is where one of us starts out being it,and we try to catch the other to make them it. You're trying to be not it. Like the idea?" He asked, tail flicking. This could be fun.

Nodding her head, crimson eyes looked to her friend as she sat down. "Yes, I had wandered too far into the desert this time and was picked up by one of them. While it was utterly awful, I did meet another slave who became my sister. It was nice, since she helped me have Ravi since I had no clue what to do!" Kirjava lightly smiled at the memory of it, she was terrified at the time. "I didn't really think of escaping before Sis told me that we had to leave, for Ravi's sake. I didn't want to leave without her, but she forced me to do so anyway. And then, Aleu came to take me away." Stopping for a bit, she turned to gaze at the green grass, it was a sight for sore eyes.
Listening to Baakir, Ravi had never heard of this game before, but it sounded like fun. He nodded his head, "So, whoever is it has to chase the other lion around to tag them and then that lion becomes it?" He slowly smiled, feeling better around this other cub. But, it would be funny to run here in the grass for all he's ever really walked on was the sand and this was completely different.

Rehani looked back at Kirjava, giving a small nod. "I'm glad you found someone to care for you and Ravi." She looked down, trying to think of a way to offer help. Her green eyes lit up, her head lifting up. "You could stay here... It'd be safe, I'm almost sure of it." It was just a suggestion, a hope for her friend.
"Yeah, you got it." Baakir nodded, bouncing in place. "You want me to be it first? I'll give you a few seconds headstart." It wasn't meant as a handicap, just something so they weren't sitting near eachother, hitting eachother and saying 'Tag'.

Sitting herself down next to an old friend, Kirjava suddenly felt old. It seems like only yesterday they were cubs and playing among the grass. Crimson eyes scanned the area before a soft sigh escaped, "I wouldn't know if I could feel comfortable in a pride right now. The idea sounds nice, but Kib is right, I do need to think of what is best for Ravi..." Her voice slowly died off before turning back towards her friend, "So tell me, how many cubs do you have?"
Happy to hear that he understood the basis of this game, Ravi wasn't feeling quite so uncomfortable anymore. Golden eyes were lit with excitement as he nodded before dashing off. "Ok." This would be fun, or at least he hoped so. Have to try new things, that's what his mother told him.
