((Assuming Pueblo sent Nehanda a note to meet early in the day- 6am))
Pueblo had wrote Nehanda to meet by the shore. Fae insisted that she would wait with her, but Pueblo knew she really wanted to see how Nehanda had changed. Smiling, she took a couple swipe attempts to catch Zanzibar, but he was too quick. Her ears leveled with her head and peered up at the gryphon; he had finally settled between her ears. They twitched and flickered every time he touched them, knowing he had always been curious of them and considering he had none externaly. "Pie, stoppit that tickles!" she giggled, finally catching him off guard. He wiggled between her hands but finally gave in. "I know a lot is happening right now... but I'll be back late tomorrow."
Fae stepped to her Aerandir's side, her head just barely above Pueblo's. "Don't forget this," she warmly reminded, handing Pubelo a small green backpack. "It has food for later and water. I also packed a few of your art pencils and pads." She smiled as the Aerandir took it and hugged her. Wrapping her arms around, she rubbed her hand up and down her shoulder before letting go. "I hope you find what you're looking for!"
The older Aerandir smiled and flicked her tail. "Me too." Turning her head off toward the sea, her calm eyes watched the hazey horizon, before a certain somebody's striped tail fell in her face.

With a flutter of ivory feathers, Nehanda arrived, dropping down beside the small group. She stifled a yawn, as she had been up very late last night, hurrying to finish her last studies of the now-filled seed pod in her possession. with an unhurried stretch of arms and wings, she smiled at everyone in greeting.
"I got your note, Pueblo! I've got my first aid kit and some munchies; Foenix fixed them, not me. I'm not allowed near the kitchen!" This was said with a self-defacing laugh as she looked over to Fae and the rambunctions Pie. "Hi there. It's really good to see you again."
As she dropped her arms down by her side, she felt the seed pod, carefully padded and packed, gouging a small hollow in her ribs. After Acia's odd cautiousness regarding the humans' reaction to her experiment, she was a bit reluctant to mention it to anyone not directly involved. But she planned to tell Pueblo as soon as they were off. After all, the wolf-girl was her best friend, and had helped in her discovery of the pods in the first place.
"So, are you ready to go?"

Fae's mouth drooped a little in awe as her eyes followed Nehanda's landing. The girl smiled and nodded. "It's nice to see you too! I see you're adjusting to flying again," she grinned, glancing at Pueblo. She couldn't wait to see them take off. "Have fun you two.." Fae couldn't help but say that a little sadly. There was so much information missing.. and she was her guardian afterall! But, what could she do? Sighing, she waved them off and collected Zanzibar. "See you later tonight?"
"Yes, we'll be flying in the sunset. See you!" Turning to Nehanda, she smiled more fully. "Oh good! Where've you been anyway?" she asked innocently as she waved goodbye to her family. Unfolding her wings, she gave a powerful push from the ground and rose into the air with Nehanda. Her tail trailed behind her in the wind, arching her wings to catch the sea breeze. She loved the feeling of the wind in her face- it was so refreshing! After they were a distance away from shore, she begun to scan the horizon.

Nehanda laughed in response to Fae's comment. "Oh, yes, I love to fly! I'm so glad we can now. And Foenix has me flying everywhere, running errands. But I don't mind," she added hastily, not wanting to sound as though her guardian was being cruel.
She waved goodbye to the kind woman and turned away with Pueblo. "There are a bunch of griffs over on Ar'Idil ready to become kids, so I've been delivering items to them. Gads, you should'a seen me; I almost fell out of a tree right on top of Oleo and his guardian Air song. Do you remember meeting them when we took that little trip over the land bridge? He's really cute." Unlike the wolf girl, she still had to take a few running steps to lift herself into the air. She did so, and smiled as they flew away from the island.
"Oh, and did you know that apparently the wisp stage was dangerous for us? They're trying some new method, so the other gryphons don't have to pass through that stage. It's kinda of creepy when I think about the things that could have happened to us." And speaking of gryphons . . . Nehanda reached down to her carry-sak and patted the seed pod. She'd wait until they were on solid ground again before bringing it out.
"So, do you have any idea where we're supposed to head?"

Pueblo's feathers quivered in the wind before they took another silent swoop alongside Nehanda. "I remember Oleo," Pueblo chuckled, imagining Nehanda's trip up. "Fae really loves watching gryphons change..." She stopped herself, suddenly growing quiet and frowned. "Handa? Is this wrong? I love Fae very much and all she's done for me and Pie...but it doesn't feel right that we can't tell our guardians about what we're doing." Her ears drooped, eyes softening. "I don't know how to feel," she edmited.
After a moment, her eyes refocused around them. The fact of being a wisp was dangerous dwelled in the back of her mind as she searched out the distance land masses. "Well, I know it's not Cetalu, Ar'Idil, or the other island we grew up on," she thought aloud. "I studied a map of all the islands before we left and the only other island that had a mountain range was a distance away." She squinted ahead and pointed. "We have to pass this island here first, I know." Her wings flapped twice, growing stiff from being straightened so much. The current just seemed to carry them! "Since the sun is rising over there...that means we need to turn left just a bit after we pass over."

Nehanda sighed over Pueblo's uncertanties, because they matched her own. "I feel the same way you do, Pueblo. They-" she referred to the older Aerandir," keep telling us that we're not allowed to tell the humans this and that, but no one can give me a solid reason as to why! Acia feels nervous aabout humans in general. "I don't know why she feels that way, but I guess I can sort of understand her personal reasons . . . but is that it? We're not allowed to share important secrets with the people who raised us, simply because someone else is afraid? That doens't make any sense to me."
It felt so incredibly good to say all of this out loud to someone who might understand her frustrations, and she flapped her wings a few times, almost violent in her strong movements. "Foenix loves me, and will support anything I do. And I know Fae feels the same way about you. So it hurts that I'm forced to keep secrets."
She was content to follow Pueblo. This was her quest, her dream, and the wolf girl had been very helpful in the first steps of understanding Nehanda's own dream.

Pueblo glanced at Nehanda, feeling some relief to know someone else knew how she felt. "Me either, and as far as I can sense, we have no reason to keep secrets!" Pueblo's wings flapped once quick and hard through a burst of small anger. Breathing, she rocked back and forth through the sky and regained her calmness quickly. "What could happen anyway?" She dangerously asked, leaving that question to hang.
Time had passed and they now soared over the new island. Pueblo observed the dense forests and glanced back to her friend. "It's probably going to be another hour or more before we reach the other island, do you want to stop before we get there?" Pueblo wouldn't mind either way, but her stomach was starting to grumble.

Nehanda nodded, and her stomach grumbled in sympathetic hunger. "That sounds like a good idea. I could definitely use a break, and a snack! And . . . I've got something to show you." Together, the two young women spiralled down to land in a break among the trees. Nehanda looked around her in pleasure. "This is a pretty place. Maybe we could come back here at some point, for fun."
She folded her legs and sat Indian-style on a soft tuffet of grasses as her stomach spoke up. It had been a while since breakfast! "I've got some cheese and veggie sandwiches and juice." The two had radically different tastes in food; Nehanda abhorred meat, but knew that her friend vastly preferred it. "And I brought some chocolate cookies, too." As she offered the drink and cookies, she couldn't help looking around. There were some ferns over beneath that tree that she didn't recognize from Cetalu or Ar'Idil . . .

Pueblo nodded in agreement and followed her friend down. Pueblo sat more relaxed on her knees, leaning on a hand. Her tail flicked through the grass as she looked about the surrounding forest. It was quite peacful. "It would be nice to paint here, and I'm sure there are unfamiliar plants for you to look at," she smiled, noticing Nehanda's stare. Her stomach groaned, quickly reminding her of food. "Oh, Fae packed me roast beef," she smiled, taking a bite out of it without hesitance. "Buh, I hab some trail mix bars," she offered and swallowed her bite. She placed the bars between them, allowing her to choose. "Mmm, chocolate cookie? Human food is so good!" She paused, wondering why she had just said that. Hadn't they always ate human food? Except when Fae picked up meat from Osero. But that tasted different. Shaking her head in disreguard, she took another bite, eating her sandwhich happily.
"So what was it that you wanted to show me?" She asked, finishing her food and washing it down with a swig of water. She placed the canteen down, licking her wet lips.

Nehanda nodded at Peublo's comment as she picked up a bar in exchange for a cookie. It occured to her that she hadn't seen much of Pueblo's painting. Maybe the wolf-girl would let her see some once they returned.
Swallowing a gulp of juice from her canteen, she reached into her bag and pulled out the seed pod. The join of pedicel and pod was clearly different. They had been seperated, then resealed with gardener's wax. "I've been studying the pods, and I talked with Acia. She agreed with everything I said. Pueblo, these are what the original Aerandir used to hold the fluff and feather. Glass jars were all the humans could come up with. I know it with every fibre of my being. Acia gave me two sets of fluff and feather, and this is one of them. I gave the other to Chao and Sanar, over on Ar'Idil. It's just a matter of waiting for things to take their natural course . . . I think."
She handed the pod over for Pueblo to inspect.

Pueblo leaned over as she munched on her cookie. Her eyes looked over the pod, checking every external visual detail. "It seems odd now, but it makes sense. They didn't have glass jars then!" Her cookie fell from her mouth as she reached for the pod. Her open hands was just hovering around it when she paused and held it there. "Woah!" She shivered, shaking her standing hairs on her back down. Accepting it, she held the pod opening to her eye and peered inside. Her ears flattened and shoulders scrunched, putting more work into looking than nessicary. "So, there's an Aerandir in there? How's it going to get out?" she asked, thinking back when the past gryphons had to burst through glass. Her eyes widened, thinking how dangerous that was. "Oh my Goddess! Those jars could have cut us up." She stared at Nehanda, now realising how important this was. "Nehanda! Pie's still a griff- he could become a wisp any day now." The young women was alarmed, but she still kept a sense of mild tone. It's just how she was. Being a child her voice was full of expression, but it had calmed greatly with age and seemed to always sound calm.
Pueblo handed the pod back to Nehanda and searched for her fallen cookie. Eating it with haste, she wasn't sure what to do. "The wisp stage is brought about by an Aerandir griff touching it's bonding item, right? So how do we avoid this dangerous stage?" She looked at Nehanda for reasoning- she always seemed one step ahead in this.

Nehanda hunched her shoulders. "I'm not sure, since I haven't seen it happen yet. But I have to assume they've found some way to avoid the Wisp stage. After all, Oleo's transformation was successful . . ." She mulled over the problem as she slipped a slice of tomato our of her sandwich and nibbled it. "So . . . we touched our item, turned into a wisp, gathered up a bunch of stuff, and then it somehow just worked together and we turned into kids. Maybe you collect all the stuff first, and then touch your bonding item? I just don't know." She raised her hands and shrugged. "I really wouldn't worry too much, Pueblo. They've figured something out, and it worked once. I'm guessing that Aly or Acia will let you know what to do when it comes time for Pie.
Turning her gaze back to the pod, she studied both it and her friend. "What did you feel when you touched the pod? Sanar told me that it feels 'right.' Acia just described it as energy, and I compare it pretty strongly to what I feel from seeds as they're preparing to sprout. Of course, I have no idea how the gryphon gets out. I'm sort of scared that the entire seed pod's going to explode!" She grinned, but her words were only half in jest.

Pueblo slouched and smiled sheepishly. "Fae knows Air, maybe she can get more details out?" She shrugged and rose the canteen opening to her lips. She swallowed the cool water, thinking about the sensation when she touched the pod. "It gave me the same feeling when I paint- comfortable, attached, like it was apart of me." She furrowed her brows at the pod. "It doesn't have any explosive chemicals, you know, produced naturally in it right?" She smiled a little, then begun to stand. "The sun's almost fully high, so we best be off soon."
The Aerandir stretched her wings and shook off the humidity. Reaching down, she slung the back pack over her shoulders with everything in it. She didn't mean to rush her friend... she was just so anxious to get to these caves. She wanted to know if her dreams, as real as they seemed, were true.

Nehanda nodded. "Actually, Oleo's coming to stay with us for a bit. I didn't really get the details from Foenix before I left, but Air's heading off the island for a bit. Maybe I'll have time to bring him over. He'd probably love to play with Pie, anyway."
She could certainly understand Pueblo's eagerness to be off as the other girl stood, so she made quick work of the remains of her lunch. It only took a moment to re-pack the pod in her carry-sak, and she secured the bag on her back. It took a moment to make sure it sat comfortably out of the way of her wings, but she grinned at her friend before taking a few running steps and leaping into the air. Wings beating strongly, she called back playfully, "Hey, what are you waiting for?"

Pueblo smiled and agreed; they would probably have all sorts of fun together. Zanzibar being all energy and Oleo loving attention, there could be no wrong.
As Nehanda rose into the air, a surprising wind gust blew right into Pueblo. She shielded her face with her forearm, but the second it had gone, she shot into the air, spiraling upward. Once she was next to Nehanda, she grinned goofily, her hairs slightly frazzled by the new trick. "For you, slow poke!" She bantered back, now a few feet ahead. They were still low enough to trees, and Pueblo flew through wide branches, daring Nehanda to chase her out of the island.
