Hello, everyone. This is Whirling Dervish, aka one of hilaroma's lovely mules. Thanks for all the help and suggestions on improving my Lt. Jim Dangle of Reno 911! cosplay for the Avatar Arena in Week 27. I will update my progress from the arena in this thread from now on. Here are some reference pictures:    And some video clips! Any advice to improve? I'm kinda iffy on the shades, gloves, and boots. Especially the shades. I keep going back and forth on whether I like these or the mirror shades better. =/

I think I like the black shades better, especially when compared to the image you have in your sig. heart
I've never seen the show, so I'd be rather at a loss for writing a description...
I couldn't think of any better items to go with the cosplay than what you're wearing, really. The boots seem to be a good match, the gloves are a good choice, and I think those glasses are your best bet. Also nice that several of the items aren't part of the same set so you may avoid some of the harsher critics in that manner.

I can see how you would go back and forth between the mirror shades, and the black ones. I'd have to go with the black ones too, though. The outfit is absolutely perfect though, I don't think anyone who has seen even one episode of Reno 911 will fail to realize who it is. Nice job! heart

I've only had one person in AT tell me I needed the mirror shades. Everyone else liked the black ones. Aww, Mala must see Reno! Nice job! heart Yeah, the mirror shades are more accurate to what he's actually wearing, but all the pictures make them look like plain black ones. sweatdrop I think I'll end up going with these because they cover a bit more of my face and balance with the black at the top, middle, and bottom. =) I hope this goes over in the Arena as well as it has already in AT. Agreed. #3 looks the best. It maches that faux-stern expression and looks the best in terms of compensating for the lack of moustache.

Hmm, that's what I thought. His personality is actually more like #2...but for people who haven't actually seen the show, #3 would be the best then.
I really wish I could put a moustache on him, but the only one on Gaia is too big and bushy. Dangle's is more like, dare I say...a Hitler moustache. sweatdrop
