The red hued lioness strode aimlessly forward, the torture of the noontime sun lost upon her wandering mind. Her steps were absent of any ambition, devoid of any destination. Had she ever had an intent? Any goal, beyond blindly wandering the dunes? Perhaps, long ago...
She had departed unannounced. Her sister's death had left an irreplaceable gape in her heart and seeing the Blood fall into shambles tore an even bigger hole. With her life disintegrating around her, Waka had simply chosen the easy path, opting to leave and forget the life she had once led. However, old habits die hard...
Waka's amethyst eyes lit to an imperfection along the usually smooth, golden horizon. Waka's breath caught in her throat at the sight. The cliffs! She hadn't realized she getting so close to her old home. Unwelcome memories flooded back into her skull. Waka allowed a pause, questions forming in her mind.
After an unmeasured amount of time, the lioness began moving once again, toward the dunes. Her gait was stronger than before, an ambition evident with every step. Home...
((I hope that's good. I literally haven't RPed in over a year, so I'm kind of out of it. *Dies. @@; ))

While the new lioness wandered the lands of her once home, a darker figure traced her steps. Nuri was growing agitated with all of the newcomers, and how the king welcomed all of them without background checks. Sure, he had done the same with her, but she had a good background to give, had he only asked. The question was, would the others that were to come also have the blood through their veigns.
Pausing in her 'hunt', the dark lioness just watched for a moment as the other paused as well. Ears perking, she watched for any sign of a threat, not reconizing the elder lioness as her Half-Aunt on her father's side. Hissing as the female moved on, Nuri realized just where the red-hued lion was heading. The dens.
It was at that moment that the silent watcher went into action, moreso to protect her young than the others of her pride. Slowly, she gained the distance that seperated the two, ready to question the purpose of the other who decided to return to the pridelands.

Waka was mesmerized by the sight of the cliffs. It seemed eons ago when she had last lay in their shade. Waka had left her home so abruptly, she didn't even realize how sorely she had missed it. It would be a a most wonderful feeling when she finally returned-No! Waka berated herself for her thoughts. She would not stay. She could not stay.
Waka was suddenly attracted by the ever-so-faint sound of paw steps upon the baking sand. Swinging her head around, Waka watched with narrowed eyes as the younger lioness approached, taking note of the red colored pelt. A sudden, almost primal anger seared through Waka's being at the sight of the other.
"What do you want?" Waka was surprised at the sound of her own voice. It had been so long since she had formed words, let alone speak to another beast, even her own voice sounded foreign. Even so, Waka was pleased to find it had the same vicious edge to it.

Nuri hid her smirk as the other turned, noting the surprise in the dark depths of Waka's eyes. However, she was ready for when the anger came, all but used to the moodswings that most rogues held, including herself. Keeping her face void of any and all emotion, the dark lioness eyed the other with disdain before speaking up in a smooth, even tone.
"I could ask you the same thing. Trespassers are not welcome in the sands, that that includes you, rogue," She said it all without seeming to care, just walking past and inbetween Waka and the caves, "Now, you can leave willingly, or I can force you. Either way, you won't be staying much longer." It was at that moment, the slow smirk of a killer moved across her maw, deep eyes glowing from their dark rims as the hunt called to her veins.

The lioness's comments did nothing to ease Waka's anger. However, Waka was not in the mood to toy with the lioness. She would not banter and trade insults. She would get to the cliffs, and if the way there included tearing through this damned imposter, then so be it.
"I do not have time for your idle threats. Trust me, I've heard them all before. " Waka flashed her own wicked grin at Nuri. This lioness amused her, in a sadistic sort of way. Rogue, trespasser...
"You should know you are in the way of what I want. I wasn't planning on making this an obstacle course, but if you insist." The grin on Waka's maw was quickly replaced by an equally wicked snarl. "Those of the Blood are not easily crossed, imposter!"
((XD; Just so you know, Waka thinks just about all of the Blood are dead. She left when the pride was almost finished, so that's why she's calling Nuri can imposter. <3))

Nuri simply raised a brow at the smirk, and blinked at the threat of her being an imposter of her blood. Lowering her head lightly, she sniffed the scent of the other, but only caught the winds of roguedom. Raising her head once more, the same slow smirk crossed her maw, before her tail flickered in amusement.
"Tell me, if you are so close to the blood of these lands, just what knowlage do you have of the current pride in all its glory...prove to me just how deep the fire runs in your veins, and maybe I will let you pass and speak to the king...but that is up to me, now isn't it?" She settled on her haunces, her relaxed pose showing that this was nothing more than a idle mind game to pass the time and delay Waka's travels. However, if the elder lioness wished to pass by without Nuri's permission, there would be quite a spilling of the blood that day.

The snarl slowly melted from Waka's maw, though a look of utter disgust remaind in its place. "Fine, I'll play your games." Waka forced her voice to be calm. Anger would not help this situation. As much as Waka hated to admit it, she was getting old. Perhaps a fight wouldn't be as easy as first thought.
Mimicking Nuri's pose, Waka paused a moment before beginning. "I know nothing of the current king. If king he can be called." Waka allowed a small growl to escape from her maw.
"I do know of the time when the Blood was strong. Makadari, my king, reigned supreme and the pride flourished under Finar-si's grace. We had many slaves and every hunt was successful. Makadari had a promising heir, Kiu. I believed the Blood would never die out." Waka paused here, almost smiling at the memory. "The glory of the Blood was not to be, however. My king, my sister, my niece, all perished in a plague that swept the desert. With the remains of the Blood in shambles, I simply walked away into the desert, hoping to bury my grief. But today, I have returned. I am Waka."

Nuri just smirked like a satisfied cat when Waka sat down, admiting defeat. The movement fading as quick as it was shown, the female blinked and waited, tail swinging before the true tale was told. Her ears flickered in movement, and a clear scowl shown across her features as Waka spoke of Finar-si and the plague, her blood boiling still from the anger of her travels. When all was said and done, the stone stoic face of Nuri just continued to still across her features.
"Waka?" She said at last, eyes thoughtful, "Did you happen to have a half brother?" Keeping the tone nonchalant, she just continued to stare and wait for an answer.

Waka's eyes flickered to the face of Nuri with surprise. "A half brother? Perhaps. Why do you ask?" Waka well remembered her half brother. He had been called Adish...A grim smug formed upon Waka's maw at the memory of their first meeting. It had not transpired too well. Afterwards, Waka had never been overly fond of him. Even if he was related.
But why would Nuri be asking of her half brother? Perhaps a relation of Adish? Yes, that was most certainly it. Waka silently scrutinized Nuri. She did look like him, in a way. Well, this was clearly an interesting development. Maybe some of the Blood yet survived. A small glimmer of pride entered Waka's heart. The Blood were not so easily defeated, even by nature's own cruel handiwork.

The dark hued lioness walked upon the golden crest of the dessert, her bright golden eyes and small white markings very visable.
She was the image of her old mother Walii apart from some minor differances and always thought of her and the father she never got to meet properly as a cub.
Her children had been learning the ways of the world and she couldn't hold onto them for very long.
However that didn't stop them cleaning them at the most inappropriate of times like a usual mother should.
The lioness' thoughts where clashed however as the sound of speaking interupting her minds voice, making her very wary as the sound of Nuri and a stranger came to her ears and she immediatly moved towards the sound.
As she came upon the mound and saw them, she immediatly narrowed her venomous golden eyes. This one looked of the Blood, but she wouldn't do anything unless Nuri said so. And she waited patiently in the background beside the darker hued female.

A young cub, Motobi'ata prowled her way about, as she skipped happily to where the commotion was happening. Her curious mind forced her to come, even though she never wanted Kavuasi to leave her sight. Father was her most important possession, she could never live without him. Looking back, her golden eyes glared into a distance, looking over the vast desert. She was already homesick for his presence.
She spotted familiar faces in the pride, but one she was uncertian of. She broke the conversation immediatly, and barged in. ... ... who are you?! Her sweet innocent cub face made her even more adorable than ever, even this wandering lioness couldn't resist her. She sat down, like she was the most important lion in the group, even though she really wasn't. These were all adults, and she was small, and insignificant.

Upon sight of the young cub, Nuri immediatly turned towards the other adult, her eyes warning to watch out for the innocent cub as she proved a point to the one before her. Moving to her paws, Nuri looked Waka over once more before speaking softly this time, voice filled with an emotion untraceable, yet still there.
"My father held a half-sister in this pride...one who made a fool of him the first step he took into these lands. She was a scout, one who watched the borders...she should be as old as you...same looks as well." Eying Waka a moment longer, she added, "Her name was Waka..." Waiting, Nuri knew that the other could easily take the opertunity, but maybe the female could make a sign, prove something. Yet, she also knew that those around her would finally know her her blood, which was something she worked to hide since Chomo and herself trailed down the sands.

Teleka had decided to wander a little, get away from the fighting cubs and let Kijinga deal with them for a while. He hadn't been heading anywhere in particular till he had seen his sister heading somewhere, in which case he followed her.
His pelt like hers showed the colour of their mother, his held the same marking as hers on his rump but in a different way. Shaking his black and white mane he followed till he saw Nuri but he wasn't interested in fighting with her now, he wanted to see the newcomer.
He stretched his body before walking down and standing next to his sister. He didn't say anything, just listened and looked at the new lioness.

Waka's eyes brushed over the arriving lioness. A small, quick flash of recognition passed through her mind at the sight of the other. Walii. Waka never remembered Walii bearing any cubs. Walii was another survivor of the plague, however. It was feasible.
Waka watched with silent amusement as the cub entered the group. Well, she was getting quite a welcoming party wasn't she? Choosing to simply ignore the cub, as cubs had never truly been Waka's expertise, Waka instead settled upon paying attention to Nuri. She was the one asking the questions, after all.
As Nuri stood to speak her part, Waka saw off in the distance a male lion approaching. He was still too far away to tell what he looked like, however. The welcoming party continued to grow.
Opting to stay sitting, Waka listened to Nuri, her trained ears not missing the sudden emotion that was in her words. "Adish was your father?" That was all she said, a simple question. Yet a simple question can sometimes have complicated answers.
