lol
no, there's no news of an official FFVI sequel but if Squeenix came out with a redone version of FFVI (with FFX-2 graphics) along with a sequel (let's say it would be worthy of the FFVI title to avoid argument) in a fairly cheap collectors package, would you buy it?
Should there be an On/Off button for voice acting or should there be voice acting at all?
Would you even approve of such a project?
Be specific.

I'll post my views after a few posts from you guys.

Have voice acting, but give the choice to disable it.
:3
Also, it might be kinda hard to redo FF6 in 3-D, but I'd be interested enough to rent it, and probably buy it.

I'd cry if they made a sequel.

A remake in 3d would be okay, if it was for PS2 and let you use your PS FF:A FFVI files. ninja

I saw a couple of roughly done characters for a PSX remake they were thinking about before VII came out. I dunno, flashy graphics are nice, but it would really just be FFVI with shiny graphics, and therefore, not really worht throwing ANOTHER $50+ bucks into. However, completely off subject, if they remade Chrono Trigger in 3d with flashy graphics and an orchestrated soundtrack, I'd buy two copies, but that's only because I'm a hypocrite. blaugh go figure

Those 3d models weren't for the PSX but the Nintendo64. I think they "ditched" the sequel project after leaving Nintendo.

Poor Ninty. Square and Ninty always worked so well together...

I'd buy it in about 2 seconds...just like I did with the PSX version...despite it not being a different game.

Id would also buy it, for two reasons:

1.) Its Final Fantasy VI

2.) So I had the right to complain if the game was crap in anyway.

If they were to remake Final Fantasy VI with 3d graphics, there would be some ground rules they would have to considder before I'd buy it without question:

1.) The world map must not be done so that the characters are 1/10 the height of the mountains ala Final Fantasy VII/VIII. Either the characters must be tiny and move really fast, or they must keep the old style of flat worldmap.

2.) The voice acting must be optional or nonexistant. I can't stress that enough, Final Fantasy X and X-2 could have been so much better...

3.) Make sure the camera doesn't have problems with object collision or teleport around all the time, I hate that in 3d games.

4.) No Tifa Busts, Cloud Hair or Cloud Swords.

5.) Better 3d models and physics than in the FMVs for Anthology, especially for Kefka.

6.) The story must remain intact, no changing it around so that it appeals more to certain demographics.

If they followed these six simple rules, then I see no problem with a remake. However, a sequel might be a bit much, especially considdering the way the game ended. What would you do, run around fixing the world? Final Fantasy meets Sim City... nah.

I think I'm the only person in the world that enjoys crappy voice-acting. >__<

Anyway,

I'd buy it. o.o I just would.

Unless... They made the characters look "cool" (as in... making them appeal to a newer audience or something...). >.o Then I'd have to think about it. e.e

I like bad voice acting in bad games, but not bad voice acting in otherwise good games. Resident Evil 1 is a good example of where bad voice acting and poor writing added to the game. It was just funny.

Goodness, RE1 was filled with more cliches/cheesy dialogue than swiss cheese is filled with holes.

"Here you go Jill, because you are the 'Master of Lockpicking' " or some thing very similar to that.

If they made a sequal they would have to make it to occur during FF6 and have guest appearances of the original FF6 cast probably some before the story starts and in the initial after math of the World of Rune. That or they could go the way Lufia did and make the whole game happen during the first war of the magi or just a generation before FF6 started.

Makeing a remake would be nice if they added a little small things but nothing that important maybe an extra mini game or two. It would be nice you could watch the entire opra sequence with Maria the way it should go before the Oper sequence and after with the changes to the play and the new ending. The only other thing they might want to add is couple of more mutli teamed battles or events like when the party split up to see what they were doing while celes was asleep.

That is all I can think of as far as little extras go to this great game.
