At first she had enjoyed it, the bright sunlight beating down on the land and the lack of rain. But now plants were starting to droop, and she wanted it to rain and cool off a little. The bright sun was okay, but it was hurting the land. Rehani wandered down from Pride Rock, running out into the savannah, her green eyes looking skywards, but there was little cloud cover today. Where it started to worry her, her son Baakir had been happy with clear skies.
The tan princess began to slow, looking out over the all too familiar land. Soon as she stopped, she sat down, looking up at the sky, frozen like a statue.

(( Mind if I ask to see a piccie of Rehani? ^__^ ))
A grown, ash-pelted male made his way back over to Pride Rock, having basked in the sun for much too long already. "I hate heat..." he muttered to himself. He spotted a small figure from afar and grunted somewhat annoyed. He passed by her and cocked his brow. "You know it's too hot out here right about now. It isn't advisable to sit out in the open." Kazi had said this in a rather gruff, uncaring voice. It wasn't as though it was his fault it was frustratingly hot...

((Sure. -fetches- -button envy xD- )) Rehani heard a voice coming near her, and turned her head to see a lion she hadn't met before. Her ears perked up as interest caught her. "I know that. I'm waiting for rain." She looked back up with a hopeful look on her face, though she knew it wasn't going to come. With a small sigh, she looked his way. "What's your name? I'm Rehani!"

(( lol She's pretty. ^___^ ))
He smirked and looked up at the sky, his ears twitching slightly every so often. "Kazi, pleased to meet you," he replied, a bit more decently this time. "So...Rehani was it? What makes you think that it'll rain in the middle of the afternoon on a hot day like this?" he asked, eyes wandering down to meet the lioness's. "Just hoping, I'm assuming?"

((Thankee.))
"Pleased to meet you, Kazi," she said politely. "Yep. Rehani. I was just hoping. The heat's killing the lands." She sounded rather sad, which was the truth. She didn't want to see the lands she grew up in suffer. She met his eyes, blinking. He was the same color as Denahi, wasn't he? Close. "So, Kazi, why are you out in the middle of the hot day?"

Kazi tilted his head slightly when she looked back up him, but quickly shrugged it off. Just a curious look he assumed. "I was out since earlier this morning by the waterhole. Sat a little too long out in the sun because I fell asleep, now I want some shade." He shook his head and sighed. "My head kinda hurts...probably from the heat too..." He looked around him to see if the land was really...dying, as she had said. "I think these lands are well enough on their own. You ought to worry more about yourself."

"I don't worry much about anything except my cubs. I just want some rain." She said, looking at him again. "Why don't you go the the shade then? There's always some place to hide from the sun."

"I got caught up in a conversation with you, that's why," he retorted with an amused smirk. "You should get some shade too. I think your cubs would worry about you if you get heat-stroke or something..." he went on to say. Kazi usually didn't mind other people's business, but it was almost like being put up against the sun itself if you stayed out in the heat. "Can't you hope for rain in the shade?"

"I guess so. So, umm, where're you going to go?" She wasn't sure if this lion was a part of her pride. She wasn't always able to keep up with everyone, and... well, rogues hung out on the lands sometimes.

"Any place with shade," he responded simply. It was true too, he didn't care where it was within the lands, as long as it was in the shade. "Mmm, maybe somewhere near Pride Rock would be fine." Kazi turned and continued walking, though his pace at the moment was slow to give Rehani some time to catch up with him. "C'mon, let's go before we fry even more."

"Okay." Rehani replied, following him. "So... Where're you from?" She asked, curious as usual. The heat had drained her playfulness for the most part.

Kazi thought a moment before answering her inquiry. "I was born in the pride lands, but then I became a rogue...and then I came back. I'm going to settle here in the pride lands now," he responded. The male wasn't too sure how to answer the question since he had been a pridelander once before he was a rogue...so where he came from was a little hazy. "And you?"

"I was born here, raised here, and I've never really left except to explore and go somewhere with my mate." She had thought about it, but this was home. "Must sound boring, huh?"

Kazi and shook his head. "It would, but then again, if I lived the same life I wouldn't say it's all that boring. I'm sure you've had some fun over the years." The male walked into the shade once they had neared Pride Rock, a relieved look on his face. "I love this huge boulder," he mused, "It's the best place to go to for shade."

"Some fun, yeah. But as a rogue you could go most anywhere. Meet new lions. Make friends." She went into the shde, surprised at how good it felt compared to thesun. She didn't think it would have made that big a difference.
