The frenzy in Towns since the new update rather reminds me of the Oklahoma Land Rush. Which just makes me wonder if there's a "Utah" out there -- a town populated entirely by LDS Gaians. Is there a such thing?

Personally, I like living in the 'mission field'. Get around too many Mormons and being a member doesn't mean any thing any more. At least in the 'mission field' you get to be an example and you are forced to stand up for what you believe in. And who knows you may bring a few along with you in the process.

There is that to be said for living in the mission field. It can also be lonely and frustrating though. You're surrounded by people who not only have different beliefs than you but who either think your beliefs are strange or who just hold completely opposed points of view. Great missionary opportunities yeah but not much chance to just relax and belong, either. I'd go and start a "Utah" (discussions of the mission field aside, it's only a game in here anyway) but I already have a house and I don't think I could convince my (RL)husband to move with me. Imagine how hard it must have been for the pioneers...

That's why I like this guild because there is comfort in the company that is here. A GREAT respite from the other stuff going on elsewhere in the other guilds!

The space 002257 is almost entirely empty (unless it's been reserved.) The areas around it are pretty sparsely settled too. It's all the way south and east. So get homesteading! smile To help people get started: How to Get a House in Towns

I'm used to a very small, <300 student population (in a VERY small town with 300 pop.), private, college-prep school. My session has >700 kids enrolled in it. 2. I'm the only LDS at my school, period, and there I'll be surrounded by LDS youth. 3. I'm from Tennessee, y'all, not some big ol' town over yonder!

My kids love EFY and it's a wonderful time to learn and make friends from wherever. There really is strength in numbers and EFY is the best time for strengthening your testimony. Go and have fun!

I think it's easier said than done. What with the Land Rush, everyone keeps reserving neighborhoods.
