"Such harsh words! I'm offended!" Phantom grinned and walked in a circle. Then he sat down and stared at Sashta, gaze not leaving her for a spilt second even to blink. If it was an attempt to scare her or he felt at threat of being mauled was anyones guess.
"I'd suggest you take me seriously, or it'll be the last mistake you ever make," the female warned him. Her voice was steady and her eyes angry. Even as the much larger alpha stood and circled around her, neither changed.
"You're so pretty, Sashta, did I ever tell you that? I bet your blood is lovely, too. Like Ran's."

Devvyl though he smelled Sashta on the changing breeze, and investigated. His ears pricked forward just in time to hear the last bit of Sashta's warning, and the strange wolf's threat.
Given that the last time he had unknowingly walked in on a hostile conversation had been in his late adolescence, and it hadn't been the best experience of his lifetime, he wasn't too keen on repeating it. So he waited a moment, listening before he made himself visible. His scent couldn't be missed; he was now windward from the pair and the wolf with the false-friendly tone wasn't likely to ignore him.
