Welcome one and all to the detective agency of the world famous Oboro! Unfortunately, the detective is out on an assignment at the moment, and I, as his apprentice, have been left to watch the agency. Anyway, even though Oboro isn't here at the moment, I'm still taking jobs! For free, I'll snoop and dig around for any bit of information you could want. Just post what you'd like to know, no matter what it is (as long as it's tasteful), and I'll search high and low to answer your questions! And remember, here at Oboro's detective agency, you get nothing but straight facts, and the honest truth. So come on in! Look around, ask questions! Whatever you'd like to know, we'll find it for you!
EDIT: Investigations are free, but they are on a first come, first serve basis. I will do one investigation at a time, so if you are far down on the list, it may take a while for me to get to your request, so don't complain. You'll get your turn.
EDIT 2: While investigations are free, some of this information gathering can be difficult, so donations even as small as 5 gold are appreciated.
EDIT 3: I reserve the right to decline taking a job if it is a violation of privacy or security.

No investigation comes to mind. Maybe except why Hilary Duff actually has work.

I'll answer that without charging anything.
And the answer is: She doesn't actually have to, but you can never have enough money in a country where money is often valued higher than human life. stare Just think about it, if you don't have the money, will a doctor perform an operation that would save your life? Unless they are incredibly altruistic, you can bet that they won't.
Yeah... next question please.

Okay, new rule. I'll only charge if I actually have to go look something up. If I can answer the question myself, I'll do it for free.
Like YuBeR_13's question, for instance. There are several rumors regarding both subjects. However, as no official information has been provided by Konami on what Jeane really is, or Yuber and Pesmerga's relationship, I will not say anything on the subject. I do not want to give out false information and call it true, as that would be a lie, and if there's one thing this detective agency does NOT do, it's lie.
I will, however, provide a few rumors that have floated around about these subjects, along with various pieces of actual facts.
Jeane
Fact: 1. It has been said that all the members of her family look similar. 2. She has been present in every Suikoden game, including Rhapsodia, the only Suikoden game that Viki does not appear in. 3. Her appearance has remained more or less the same in each game. 4. Up until Suikoden V, she has not played an active role in the plot. 5. She seems to know more than she should on several subjects. 6. She refuses to wear clothing that would be deemed appropriate for life in the real world, outside of conventions and strip clubs. (Okay, I just added that one because she dresses like a skank.)
Rumors (these are purely speculation, and should by no means be regarded as the truth): 1. 'The Jeane in each game is in fact a different person, but they are all part of the same family, and all go by the same name.' This rumor coincides with fact #1.
2. 'Jeane is a Vampire.' This theory makes a little bit of sense, seeing as she hasn't changed in appearance for six games, and that she has silver hair, much like sierra, who is a vampire.
3. 'Jeane is a member of the Sindar race.' This one only makes sense because of how little we know about the Sindars. I personally believed this one until it was revealed that Lorelai is, in fact, a Sindar. I now no longer believe Jeane to be a Sindar on the sole fact that there is next to nothing that is mysterious about Lorelai.
Yuber
Facts (Copied from another site):
1. "He is like a shadow" according to Pesmerga. 2. He hates True Runes according what he said to Riou in Suikoden 3. He is not human according to multiple sources. 4. He is has the Eightfold Rune which we barely know nothing about. 5. He craves chaos, and actively seeks it according to what he said in Suikoden 3. 6. He has participated in most major wars according to Konami. 7. He has to be "summoned" by some sort of means. A method that both Leon Silverberg and Albert Silverberg have learned. 8. He has little understanding of True Runes although he is an owner of one. At times he shows a suprising naivette towards the subject of True Runes. 9. He is chased by Pesmerga for some unknown reason. 10. Technically, his gender hasn't even been confirmed.
Rumors (Copied from the same website):
1. Yuber is the incarnation of Chaos The Eightfold Rune, is probably a rune symbolizing chaos. This is because the Eightfold Star in Daoist Alchemy, along with the number 8 (Highest Yin Numeral), is a symbol of chaos. If this is the case, it is understandable why Yuber has an insatiable desire to create chaos and wade in blood. This also legitimizes his fury towards other True Runes because all True Runes naturally are against each other, just like how various forces of nature compete against each other, creating much change -- chaos. The fact that Yuber is the only one who seems to summon undead creatures (skeletons, bone dragons), seems to point towards his innate inclination towards nefarious beings.
2. Yuber is the incarnation of the "Sword" In the beginning of the Suikoden World, there was a huge battle between the brothers -- sword and shield -- which resulted in the creasting of the 27 True Runes. Some say that Yuber may be the "Sword" described in this conflict, but this theory is often based on a false assumption that sword = chaos. However, as with many references to philosophy such as Thomas Hobbes' "Leviathan," sword = order due to the fact that it is the power to enforce. In the Suikoden world, the Shield symbolizes chaos. Who knows how the "power to protect," can be considered as promoting chaos, but that's how it is in the Suikoden World. Regardless, it is hard to say that Yuber is a shield, because there is nothing about him that is very shield-like.
3. Yuber is a creature from the World of Emptiness Some people have mentioned Yuber and Pesmerga's similarity with the monsters "Mirage." In fact, the Mirages perform an attack that is nearly indentical to Yuber's Eight Devil Rune. Additionally, Yuber has been sighted "among" the monsters at the Ceremonial Site at the very end of Suikoden 3, as if stating that Yuber is a monster summoned just like all the other beaings summoned by Luc and Sarah. In fact, Yuber was summoned by Albert Silverberg, who used some arcane method call forth this being from the World of Emptiness.
Pesmerga
Fact: 1. He is pursuing Yuber for some unknown reson. 2. We know even less about him than we do Yuber.
Rumors: (See Yuber's rumor section.)
Unfortunately, with the lack of official information regarding these characters, I cannot give an accurate explination.

Mr.spiderlance Wouldnt it be easier for us to just look it up ourselves? :/ You could do that. The only reason I charge is because I'll look up information about anything, not just Suikoden, and I'll look anywhere (web, encyclopedia, library) to find an accurate answer. Yes, I will PM people to find out information about another Gaia user, but only if they voluntarily give the information out. I will NOT look up birth names or passwords, though. So I just do this to save you all some trouble. And to answer your question, YuBeR_13, The reason Viki isn't in Tactics is because there's no need for a teleporter when it's as easy to move around the map as it is. There's no random battles, and you can more or less just select a town and go there anyway. The only problem with this logic is that Viki is one of the best mages in the series, so why she got left out of the battle part of the game escapes me. Also, I didn't have to look these up. I knew them. EDIT: I changed the first post. I no longer will charge anything.

Here's a question.
"Does Viki travel through time in the order of the games, or does she travel through time in chronological order (in other words, she appears in Suikoden IV, Suikoden V, then Suikoden, then Suikoden II, Suikogaiden Vol. 2, and finally Suikoden III.)?"

YuBeR_13 "Why isn't Viki in Tactics?" I think it's because you don't really need to teleport anywhere in that game. And you can always skip over the plains and stuff. Only thing different is that there are actually days that go by. But then again, if they didn't need Viki then they really didn't need Jeane either. sweatdrop Although her magic was really helpful.

Maiden of Night Here's a question.
"Does Viki travel through time in the order of the games, or does she travel through time in chronological order (in other words, she appears in Suikoden IV, Suikoden V, then Suikoden, then Suikoden II, Suikogaiden Vol. 2, and finally Suikoden III.)?" If you do her bath scene with Jeane in IV, she makes a comment about the situation being familliar, and Jeane has no idea what she's talking about, which leads us to believe that Viki teleports in order of the games, or at least in an erratic order. In V, she makes a comment about missing another big meal, which means that she's missed more than one (not to mention, near the end, she comments about always teleporting away at banquets before they bring the food out.). If she had teleported in chronological order, this wouldn't have made sense (That is, assuming there isn't another Suikoden game to be release taking place before IV). Also, she seems to be getting the hang of messing up frequently, as she doesn't seem nearly as confused in V as she was in say... III. There's also the theory about Viki aging backwards, but that's a whole other can of worms. Again, I can only give speculation on information that has not been officially released by Konami.
