description: Pic of akeno, I wanted to try a half-body shot... symbolic in the fact the message of Akeno is just a tool to his powers and is as expendable as the bandages he wears. Also, a bit more...but has to do with the story I'm creating. Tried an experimental method for finished lineart.


description: This is Akeno, my main character in my new .hack// story ^^ He was inspired by my avie...somethings I may change later are his skin tone, his glove, belt and boot color, and weapon color scheme. And, I think pose is a bit off making it look weird. I've been doing some experimental coloring with Photoshop, but still think I might find better results with open canvas with how I'm doing it.

Please comment and tell me what I need to improve on since I really want to learn.

I want to really start doing 4-komas (ya know...those 4 panel up to down comic strips)...but they are hard o.o so well, I just did this to try out the chibiness on the tablet...came out quite nicely.

omg...I didn't even notice this (and it's my art XD) but Kara's blade looks like a shark...I need to do a strip about that XD XD

Your style is defininetly cool xD Just gotta fix some high proportions =p
and the chibi one is cute

personally i like photoshop cuz i have a wider variety of things to do with my picture if i want to fix something or add a background and whatnot. but i like OC for lining sometimes

the first one was also a test in disguise crying honestly I just wanted to try sketching and then seeing how Akeno came out fully colored. (and yes...I quickly colored the second one...I didn't try to cell shade it so...I just did it all on one layer...)

Very sorry...I'll post some more...presentable art soon. crying

Oh and to note, I'm quite experienced with layers and such...if you need evidence you can check my gallery and the two different early colorings I did of other peoples art. The chibi was more of a rush, and slightly on purpose since I like chibi looking a bit more childish in a way... (when it's the type of chibi I just did...)

And well, I like photoshop a lot for flat coloring or a cell shade type style...but I also want to try something different (since I found a lot of nice and interesting tutorials for open canvas...and I love how you can have so many different styles in it).

thank you ^^ and ya it's a little off...I dunno what I was thinking when I wanted the pose... but whatever, it came out a little weird I think since I still had small troubles with creating the stick figure of it (stick figures are so nice XD XD)


[side note]: Created a sketchy...WIP...very-very messy XD but, this time I'll create some better lineart for my coloring. And, to please Tawney I'll use my layers this time XD (I only use them if I have the time and attention span to draw...oh and also if I want to create alt. art verisons ^^) And I'll probably experiment with lighting with layers.

The .hack one is really good...I like the sky...alot blaugh
