I have some friends who cut (who doesn't) and I just recently looked at my arms. I see little cuts and scratches all over them, and I can remember so many more, and while I can almost understand why someone might cut, it just seems obscure that people actually cut themselves, when the world's cuttin' us up anyway. Wouldn't it be better to cut yourself up clearing a bunch of blackberries out of someone's yard for $50 than cutting yourself up with a knife or a safety pin? Discuss.

I'd rather have the first one, because at least I get $50 out of it. Also, at least then you have a CHANCE of not getting cut up.

My friend used to cut. She stopped because I would smack her everytime she did, and eventually threatened to tell my mom if she cut again. : D ...I still don't understand the point of it. Then again, I get squeamish at the thought of cutting, which is why I always have bracelets on my wrists. *shudder*

Inflicting pain releases one's feelings of uselessness. Self-abuse is the easiest way for a lot of people to cause pain, because they don't have to hurt others to do so. Others take it out on others, both physically and mentally, because they know that they can. I use self-abuse, but only in the form of progress. One method I use is to work to exhaustion, then go to sleep. I get a good rest, and I get something done. Another I use is hard rock. Screaming hurts, but not as much as knowing that you're just another smiling face in the eyes of someone you love. Same with playing the guitar or bass until you blister/bleed. As for inflicting pain on others, I try not to. If there's a kicking bag handy, there's no question as to what I'm going to do, and I'll also be more agressive in the physically straining things I do. (such as heavy lifting) But I do this so this I can go to sleep without wishing I was dead, not to be cool and brag about it. . . it's self-abuse, and it's intentional, but I can't really do much of anything else, you know?

But why is this feeling of uselessness so severe that you have to hurt yourself? I mean, if you think about it, everyone's just a speck in the grand scheme of things, and you may feel invisible now, but the meek shall inherit the earth or whatever And what does hurting yourself or kicking things do to help your problem? You need to talk about your problems and figure out how to solve them, or just don't worry This, too, shall pass No day but today : D Okay, that's my good word of the day : )

Because, by the fifth time you do everything perfect, get told that perfect's not good enough, then find out that something else is, it pisses you off. stare I'm naturally violent when mad, what can I say? It doesn't hurt ME, pain hurts ME. I could be a psychopath, or I could be violent towards myself when angry. Yeah, I choose the latter.

Life IS useless. Our purpose here is to further the human race. Woohoo, that's nice. But what's the point in furthering it when all the race is going to end up doing is trying to further it more?
THERE IS NONE, I TELL YOU. mad
Which is why we should do whatever the hell we want if it doesn't hurt anybody. But of course we don't. xp

But there are better ways to deal with stuff
And screw people who are too picky
: P
Anyway, the purpose of life is to be happy, not to make babies
There are too many babies already

Hah, Lattu and I agree, working off the annoyance, etc is nice...I write alot too though. and occasionally I drink. But mainly, what he says, and better kicking a kickboxnig bag then someone ele's face right? (well, matter of opinion but...less trouble in the end anyhow) but I don't consider it self abuse...I just consider it me trying not to kill somebody.

Kicking a few certain people in their faces qould be a lot more fun, but there'd be long-term consequences for that. The consequences of kicking something really hard? My foot will hurt for 20 seconds, meaning 20 seconds of DDR. I can't play DDR when I'm angry, 'cause galvanised stainless steel and heavy duty polycarbonate plastic can't handle 300 stomps from me per minutes.
