a few days ago i mentioned to my mom that i was interested in buying a nintendo ds over the weekend. she called me immature... that i was a child like my older brother because we still play games, and she said that we needed to grow up. ironically, my mom use to be really addicted to tetris for our old gameboy. she was so into it that my dad would have to literally hide the gameboy away from her. anyways, as soon as i mentioned that i'd probably get tetris for the ds, her eyes lit up and she was like 'oooh! i'm going to take your game then!' rofl
my conclusion is that no one ever really grows out of their favorite games. they may stop playing them for awhile, but they'll have that craving to go back and replay their favorite games again. perhaps there's a child within us that never grows up? that sounded really cheesey, but i'm sure you get the point. what do you think?
i personally think my mom making fun of me is a prime example of this. she thinks when i play video games that it's lame, but as soon as she heard the name of an old favorite, she got excited. my sister also quitted playing games for awhile because she 'grew out of it'... but then she suddenly wanted a gameboy sp so she could play all the classic nes games she use to love like metroid! whee
hehe, that's one thing to look foward to when i'm a granny and be able to spend my days playing old video games that i use to love. they'll definately bring back a lot of happy memories of younger days. cool

Ugh, sorry but I don't really like people like your mom. They're way too judgemental.

My mom basically hates games. She sold off my dad's SNES. We were all pissed. Glad I don't live with her anymore. My dad plays games all the time. I'm trying to convince him to play FF4 again, lol. I hope to be old and gray and still have my computer, filled with old roms. That would be the life. smile

I'm almost on my 20s...Yeah, my mom gets mad at me everytime she sees me play video games or on the internet...She keeps telling me to go out or do something. Well, I just don't feel like going anywhere...She said adults have better things to do besides video games.
My mom only like classic games like Pac-Man. She can't stand watching me play Resident Evil and other violent games. She keep telling me that game is not lady like. lol

I think everyone should let themselves be a kid sometimes. If everyone just goes around being serious all the time, life loses it's point. It's not going to kill you to sit down and be happy for a little while, is it? X3
Like, if someone bought me Rayman for the PC, I would cuddle them so hard. God, I loved that game.
And come ON, who WON'T give into Pokemon. It's POKEMON! THE GAMES ARE AWESOME!
