Story
Quarantine
A man draped in a brown cloak, with a faint golden lining looked over the throng of followers before him, and smiled a toothy smile beneath the veil of his robe. Behind him many more like him, each with the same intent. “Our world has been robbed of its grace, its beauty,” he began, “and its dignity!” The crowd roared in agreement. “And they!” He pointed towards the collection of silver towers in the distance. “They will pay in blood for what they have done! And we will destroy them with these!” He roared holding up a large metal arm, covered in scorch marks. “We will destroy them with their own villainous machinations! We will crush them in the name of Gaia!”

This world was a simple place of nature, where the world as it was and its inhabitants followed abidingly. But with the discovery of science, life was altered for the better. A company known as the Wave sprouted up immediately at this simple breakthrough, and from there the world changed. The Wave quickly established a republic government, vowing to bring peace and order to the lives of everyone. Nearly effortlessly, the founder and owner, Alexander Nuren, was elected and used the technology his company developed to cure disease and do everything he said he would creating a simple and easy lifestyle for everyone. In the time of two years had they expanded from a simple forest village to a town rivaling those common in the Middle Ages. It wasn’t long before they surpassed the very laws of nature and created a world born of technology that spanned over the entire continent. Nothing was ever to be natural again. The food, the water, the air, everything was automated by the omnipotent Wave that governed over this new world. All who resided within their rule were even happier than when they had lived for Gaia
But of course, this came at a steep price. To get what the Wave had, they did something unthinkable, abominable, almost horrifying to imagine. To create the advancements that they did, they had to drain the world of all its resources. The breezy meadows, lush forests, even the clouds were lost in the Wave’s pursuit for perfection. Beyond the city of the Wave is the dry desert known as the Tide. No one enters. No one needs to, all anyone could ever want is within the city walls.
But within the grim sea of sand is a small pocket of green that is sustained by magic and sheer will alone. Beneath the green canopies and behind the sheltering trees is a society known as Gaia. These are the last remaining followers of the previous age, faithful throughout the years. Using the power of nature did they keep a small reminder of their home.
And they are not the only ones who reminisce in a simpler time. There were many people who believed in what Gaia had taught them long ago, and the left the cities to create settlements in sand, calling themselves the Tide Dwellers. They live in their primitive homes hobbled together in the constant changing sand dunes, surviving off the scarce wild life and what ever they can steal from the near by Wave cities.
Not only this, but there are those who reside within the cities of the Wave, that still believe in Gaia as the Tide Dwellers do, but they fear the sand, they fear what would happen if they left the security of the future. Trapped between the confines of what was and what is to be, those that wish to join Gaia, but dare not leave the Wave are known as the Lost.
But now it is time for revenge. Whispers have traveled from ear to ear, in both the city of the Wave and between the followers of Gaia, that a revolution is to begin. That the ultimate war between man and machine is to come. But as the men are divided, can they succeed?

Overview
There are four definite sides.
The Wave is the society of humans and other such species that use technology to their fullest advantage, using it as both a weapon and a life system. Their leaders are the head executives of the Wave Company who control the city’s power source. Their main weapons are firearms and armed vehicles (tanks, mechs…)
The Followers of Gaia are a people who live like they did when they lived with Gaia, the spirit that embodies nature as a whole. They use druid magic to manipulate what is left of nature. But recently, they have begun to steal Wave technology, creating their own weapons to combat those of the Wave. Their main weapons is their ancient magic as well as they’re stolen technology (Outdated weaponry, EMP, grafted weaponry)
The Tide Dwellers are followers of Gaia, but are slightly more primitive. Having lived in the Wave cities for too long, their connection to Gaia has faltered and their magic is much weaker. But living in the desert has made them stronger and more resilient. They posses a great resilience to the harsh wrath of the sand, as well have become very reliable at using the desert to its fullest extent. Their main weaponry is outdated Wave technology and improvised weaponry (broken technology fashioned into clubs and maces). Some say they can control the sand, creating storms to cover their tracks or drowning their pursuers in it, but it has been verified that this is a rare gift amongst the Tide Dwellers and can only be used by those most connected to Gaia.
The last group is the Lost. Though they live within the Wave, they are followers of Gaia, as well. Because of this, some of their connection to Gaia reaming and they are able to manipulate small aspects of what little nature there is in the cities. They can do minor things such as start small fires, freeze water, and float using the winds. Some say that they can do greater things in times of danger when their life is threatened. They are torn between the comforts of Wave and the purity of Gaia, and are the most neutral of the four factions. Their weaponry consists of Wave technology (firearms and armed vehicles) and their weak druid magic.
-----------------------------
All groups can have any species, EXCEPT FOR ANGELS AND DEMONS. Within reason here, I don't think they'd very well into the story. But pretty much everything else is cool. Nekos and other were animals could be genetically engineered, as well as vampires and other such denizens of the night. Just a heads up.
Those who live within the Wave cities and the Followers of Gaia (including the Tide Dwellers) are aware of the impending war, so security all around has been increased. All Wave cities double as barracks that hold solders ready to kill anyone who has any connection at all to Gaia, including the Lost. Not only this, but weapon advancements are being sped up across all the cities. The Followers of Gaia are aware of this. Knowing this, attacks on the cities have become more frequent, not only for liberation missions, but to slow troop movement, steal more technology or hinder it.
Like wise, the Wave have been invading Tide Dweller settlements in an effort to locate the Forest of Gaia.
The race is on. Will Gaia be able to amass enough firepower and followers to take down the Wave? Or will the Wave find the Forest before Gaia can even launch the first blow?! Choose a side and fight for the future

Sorry it's a bit long. Guess something I'll work on. But yeah, any suggestions?
EDIT: So I altered it a little bit by adding what you suggested. Tell me what you think. Newly added information is red.
