kanji are chinese characters adopted in japanese
kanji are chinese characters adopted in japanese
Are kanji exactly the same as the original chinese?
no, the original kanji of china have twisted and change to make japanese kanji. here are some difference:
kokuji(国字) are kanji invented in japan here is list-
鰯 樫 粁 喰 込 榊鴫 糎 凧 鱈 栂 辻峠 栃 噸 凪匂 畑 畠 噺 鋲 辺 柾 俣 麿 粍 杢 籾 匁 鑓 枠 毟 挘 桛 梻働
some are not use much, but some are very common
kokkkun(国訓) are the meanings of kanji changed from chinese:
沖- offshore, chinese: rinse
森-forest, chinese: luxrious
椿-camelia, chinese: chun
also japanese characters are made look different from original chinese, and some kanji and hanzi (chinese type kanji) that were once same now look different.
gikun- are japanese kanji that dont read with any kun or on, the kanji are meaning and reading original japanese word (many of our vocabulary like this)
i hope you know that japanese not all borrowed now.
