I don't know if theres suppose to be anything about this but I was always wondering why it has so many characters with the initials L.L
Lex Luthor Lionel Luthor Lana Lang Lois Lane
I believe theres one or two more but I can't think of them right now. Anybody ever wonder about this?

I'm not entirly sure about, why they chose to give Lex's father Lionel double 'L's. However I can just about tell you there is no meaning behind it other than the trend of most main and secondary characters in a comic having the same letter for both first and last names... suposadly it made the name easyer to remember...

Well, I know it was a typical thing in many superhero comics to use double initials, normally of the same letter, in a specific superhero series. For instance, Bruce Wayne's (Batman) girlfriends were normally V names (Vicky Vale). Superman used Ls obviously. This happened mostly in DC Publisher's comics. (However, Spiderman--from Marvel Publishers--did not have double letters or even the same letter. There was Mary Jane Watson and another girl named Betty something.)

Actually Marvel does more double letter characters than DC does... However it was mostly just the main character of the title, Bruce Banner, Peter Parker, Ralph Robers, Richard Rider and Mary MacPherran to name the ones I can think of off the top of my head....

I think, personally, the double letters DO make it easier because then you aren't fighting over Last or first names on what letter it starts with to guess the name... sounds cheese but it happens to me all the time. It also seems to roll off the tounge a little better when the two name have the same strting letter like Pete Parker. Or Even Clark Kent because both C and K have similiar sounds that make it easier to remember
