Okay, since assignment 5 has already been decided. I've decided to start this early so we can start the poll on wednesday.

From the previous post we had hands, landscape, and re-invention. We can keep these ideas for future assignments. But if anyone has more ideas for the assignment, post away!

Most of these are just fine with me just a few notes...

Vector art may be hard for some, like myself, to do because you need a program like Adobe Illustrator to properly create a vector image. I don't have Illustrator. In fact I don't enjoy the digital medium much anymore...(And It's not because I think it's cheating or anything like that...)

The drawing+coloring in someone else's style...=/ not a big fan of that. I don't mind using someone else coloring and shading techniques because you can learn a lot from doing that, but I'd prefer not to draw in someone else's style. I like my own thank you very much....

Otherwise I'm happy with this list ^^ Now I just need to figure out what I need to re-invent...(the wheel?)

*grumbles* I wont suggest anything anymore as it seems I can't explain myself clear enough.

I'm fine with all those things Teioh suggested. Also, I'd like to give more support to the drawing in someone else's style: it takes alot of skill to be able to do that and the point of doing a work like that is just that: the ability to imitate. It's also a skill that helps alot in ie. at adversiting industry, as far as I know. A very good idea for an assignment.
Also, I'd add to that assignment: not ANIME. Find some other style to imitate >:3

Yes, it's good to be able to get away from your own style as variety will help a lot in any sort of job search (if anyone is interested in doing art professionally), and in mimicking someone else's style you could possibly notice things you haven't noticed before. I developed my own style mostly by mimicking various artist that I enjoyed, then just drawing and letting the things I liked most from each style work their way into what I was doing.
Does that make sense? I have to hurry up and go to class.

What about contact? Violent, loving, anything (You all know the PG-13 going on *^.^). People interacting by contact puts different shadows and folds and all that.

Yeah, I like that idea. I like the idea of a piece with one or more people interacting in general, not necessarily just physical contact.
