So his name isn't Usagi Yojimbo? sweatdrop I always thought it was.
xd And I was looking at the cast, and there's a person named Hime that Usagi made up as a story who is a princess. How nice since that means princess

I have nothing to add to this thread! BUT I have a lame story!
When I was like... 11 or so my mom and I moved in with my aunt, uncle and their three kids. That's when I got into X-Men and D&D and stuff... it was cool. But my cousin Wesley had this friend (who was REALLY ugly... looked like freakin' Donkey Kong) whose parents had a ton of money so he had pretty much EVERY toy in the world. I "borrowed" his Usagi figure and had every intention of never returning it, but it got returned against my wishes. sad I'm such a bad person.
I hated that kid though... he took karate and thought he was badass because of it. I called him Karate Kong b/c seriously... he looked like a gorilla!!! Though on a bonus note for some bizarre reason when he got to pick to people to go see Three Ninjas with him he picked me. eek So I got to see that in the theater. *L*

That's a cool bio, S.
I'm a religious reader of Usagi Yojimbo... It is one of my top picks in the comics industry for its humor, culture portrayals, and superb artwork. I have nothing but praise for Stan Sakai and his pet rabbit!
I have never gotten the chance to read Space Usagi; however, I hear it is a good book. Has anyone here read it?

I think the Miyamoto <--> Yojimbo thing is something caused by the old toon Turtle show -- I've got the episode he introduces himself to the green boys in on tape, and he says "My name is Usagi Yojimbo: it means 'Rabbit Bodyguard"." But yes, his true full name is Miyamoto Usagi. The confusing thing can be that he is a Ronin (masterless samurai) and only occasionally gets hired to be someone's Yojimbo (bodyguard).
(This, ofcourse, means that I have spent years being able to say both rabbit and bodyguard in Japanese . . . fun, but you don't usually get the chance to use it in conversation a lot! sweatdrop )dburger *waltzes in* That's a cool bio, S. Oh my! eek I love Space Usagi! I was fortunate enough to find a copy down at my library; it's about a decendant of Miyamoto Usagi who's clan lives in outer space. He becomes the teacher and bodyguard to the heir of his clan, and during his adventures even meets his own ancestor! (That happens in a short story at the back, but it's still well worth it!) Best of all, this is a stand-alone; you don't have to really read any of the other Usagi comics before this one, since it's technically a different Usagi, but pre-knowledge from the others will only deepen the appreciation!
Here's a link to the DarkHorse Comics' page for Space Usagi . . . I hope this helps not only dburger, but anyone else interested in getting into these great comics! ]http://www.darkhorse.com/profile/profile.php?sku=47-620

Funny thing is, Sailor Moon was the first anime I ever got as a fansub -- couldn't stand the English version!
I feel like my learning has been 50/50, and even then a lot of what I learned within the halls and walls of my schools was stuff that wasn't even remotely related to anything we were studying at that particular moment . .

Eh only thing I liked from Sailor Moon was Raye, and when Serena was a wimp. I hated it after she got un wimpified...or ya know anything after Beryl died. But I just got into SM because its a lot like Ronin Warriors 'cept instead of Girls in miniskirts its guys in armor, and alot cooler, and not so badly translated.

Quote: (And I wonder what yer cousin would say if I got you to say the line "The Rabbit on the Moon is making Mouchi" to her . . . ?) I first learned about the "Rabbit on the Moon" thing from Dragon Ball :p Needless to say, Usagi is (loosely) modeled after real-life kickass samurai, Miyamoto Musashi. I totally need to read about Terry Miyamoto. She sounds awesome.
