This is where we will put the threads that have the same title in. ThreadsConcreteAngel Sorry for another announcement but can the crew stop deleting the announcements I make. I know its crowded, I'm trying to help with moving threads that aren't used much anymore and such. But as I can't get on much, I need a way to communicate to everyone so leave them up please. UPDATE: Can all crew move just one thread everytime they come on. It would be very helpful. Gwyndara eek wow, I didn't know your threads were getting deleted. paladin140 I don't think that they have been deleted, but I believe that they have been made into normal threads. However, this isn't supposed to be done unless you have given consent. Gwyndara eek to make a sticky, and announcment a normal thread is as shocking as finding my own regular threads deleted. Thats right, I can only find two of my own threads. eek I even had to recreate the Bumping thread. End of Topic

Posting HazardsSereni Kitty Sorry to bug you guys, but there is a problem coming up in this guild that has been bothering me for a while. It concerns the number of posts, announcements and whatnot. I know that when the guild first started, this was brought up, and I know that many people said it wouldn't become much of a problem. I know ecause I was one of them. But; The main thread page for the guild is becoming unproffesionnally unorganized. There are 10 announcements, +1 with this one makes 11. This is just a bit chaotic, escpecially since a lot of thse 'announcements' are what people first see in the guild. Some of them aren't needed for what people first see when they stumble across our guild. Shouldn't announcemnents be... just that? A way to contact the other members of the guild quickly and to post and catch the eyes of people to bring forth true announcements? Also, a LOT of the threads in here are simply rambling threads. It is beginning to remind me of the chatterbox, guys! A lot of these threads are noticed for a moment, they have their 15 minutes in the spotlight, then are forgotten as another random thread pops up. A lot of these threads also fall under the same category! There are a lot of threads about girls, guys and dating. Shouldn't they all be in one generalized thread? I'm sorry if I'm bothering you guys, but I am tired of all this chaos and tired of becoming dizzy whenever I look at the main thread area. If you have an idea to fix this, PLEASE post it here, and please, no "quick fix ideas that come off the top of your head", like what I come up with a lot. This is a serious problem that we need to n** right here and now... Dragonwarrior_Keltyr i agree. it's getting outta hand. I'll see waht i can do. Maybe i'll combine a couple of threads or something. *salutes* Mormon_Seebs Dragonwarrior_Keltyr i agree. it's getting outta hand. I'll see waht i can do. Maybe i'll combine a couple of threads or something. *salutes* yeah combine birthdays and rules and roster and all that type stuff in one big announcement Torch24601 *sniffs* I'll kinda miss the randomness though. funtoys yeah, great idea you guys... combine ones that dont need to be seperated and i love randomness, but we should make a good first impression dont you think? ConcreteAngel I agree. There are too many threads. I have a suggestion if anyone wants to help. When crew come on, if you could move one un-used/older thread to the appropriate memorable thread, it would greatly help organize the guild better. Also, maybe we should have someone in charge of authorizing new threads for a while so its not so cluttered. They could point out where the post could be made instead of creatin a new Kafikee how do you move a whole thread? i'm not familiar with all of my super crew powers, 'cause i can do that right now funtoys I be not a crew member... so i cant help you there sorry... i would help. Kafikee *lobs two piggy banks at funtoys* start fillin' those for me, i need the monies! ConcreteAngel Kafikee how do you move a whole thread? i'm not familiar with all of my super crew powers, 'cause i can do that right now Lock the thread you are moving first. Open the memorable thread in one window and the thread you are moving in another. In the memorable thread, reply to topic and quote one page into one reply. Do this for all the pages. After, delete the thread you moved. Kafikee Ah, it makes sense now... hoo boy... this is gonna take a while. i think i'll have a third window open for sanity reasons ConcreteAngel I'll start locking threads that should be moved. funtoys dont lock the girls camp and samuri... just my opinion... Kafikee alrighty, i don't want to lock anything that shouldn't be moved. ConcreteAngel Also, remember to put the title of the thread you moved and End of Topic at the end of the last post. End of Page1 Kafikee the trouble will be deciding which threads go into which memorable threads.... funtoys well i think you guys did a pretty good job. wink paladin140 I'll take care of it tomorrow. Mahia M Yay! Paladin's back! whee
Well I agree with Dah-Veed (FunToys), I think we did a pretty good job of handling the brunt of the problem. We have cut the number of stickes & announcements in half! eek
Though they could probably atill use a little work. sweatdrop It will be an ongoing effort. 3nodding paladin140 I will be combining many of the different announcements and possibly some of the stickies as soon as I have time. I will be combining them into one joint information thread. paladin140 *** A NOTE TO CREW MEMBERS *** paladin140 Threads - Members are allowed to make new threads - but please, refrain from duplicate or Spam threads. This makes the guild very difficult to manage. We no longer delete threads, rather we either lock them and lable them a memorable thread, or move them into a memorable threads group, where they can be read at any time. If members are consistently making threads that are almost identical to other threads on the first page then they should be reported to a guild admin. If it is the first time please just inform them of their error. paladin140 Thread Management Committee - move inactive threads into memorable threads. - When moving a thread 1. Lock the thread at the bottom left hand side of the page ( Make sure that you don't delete it ) 2.In a seperate window, open the appropriate memorable thread group ( When I have finished them I will put a list of links for them in the thread links sticky ) 3. Write 'From "TITLE GOES HERE" page #(PAGE# GOES HERE) at the top of your post in the memorable thread group. 4. Quote the first post, ( In the thread that you are moving ) and select everything in the text box 5. Copy it and paste it at the bottom of your post in the memorable thread group 6. Repeat steps 4 - 6 for each post on the page 7. Submit your post 8. Repeat steps 3 - 8 for each page in the thread 9. Notify the author of the thread that you have moved their thread, into "TITLE OF MEMORABLE THREAD GROUP" 10. Delete the unused topic ( not the memorable thread group, double check to make sure. If you are unsure of where to put a thread leave it and another committee member will take care of it. If you are unable to finish and have already started write where you are moving the thread and what pages you have done in the first post of the thread that you are moving. If there are any questions please post them now. End of Topic

Stickie Issuepaladin140 This issue has been resolved, please refer to the new guidelines for details. Kafikee i personally think we have far too many stickies as it is. and some of them it's just a little silly to keep up. the birthday thread? That one should be a thread that is stickied on a birthday. having it just be up there kind of takes away from the "especially for you" feel that everyone wants on their birthday also, some of the mods get entirely too a**l about putting different things in places, and while it would be ideal if all of our threads could be put into simple stickies, no one pays as much attention to the stickies as they do the normal threads. stickies are important, not things that we can say it's ok to ignore, i think it's a lot easier to ignore something that is always there rather than something that only happens every once in a while. another thing, some of the stickies could honestly be combined into one stickie ConcreteAngel The birthday stickie is the list of birthday's so we can see who's is coming up and such. And personally, I think that there are too many threads. Most are double topics or not used anymore or just things that can be discussed in a general area Super_Smurf for a while i was keeping up with deleting threads that hadn't been used for over a week and a half, but then i took a vacation and got way behind. 3nodding sweatdrop Tiancum Perhaps this is a meeting of the mods and such but I would like to imput my imput... blaugh ... since anything but stickies and announcements will eventually get deleted and added to the unreadible 6 pages, we should leave the stickies as they are! some can go (I don't think we acually need a stickied thread for birthdays and even if we do it doesen't need to be there for more than a day or 2) but unless they are kept they will be deleted and we cannot have that... I think a good soulution would be to change them all to announcements then have a meeting about what to do about all the announcements and then decide what to do blaugh PROCRASTINATE THE DAY OF THE STICKIES!!!!!!! Dragonwarrior_Keltyr there are too many stickies. If we could delete some that'd be good but I don't know which one's we'd delete. I haven't deleted old threads in a while either sweatdrop dersephy hey, um overlord type people?? yeah, thought here, how about not deleting threads so we are able to go back and ponder on past threads, the fun threads that will forever be remebered in the lore of this guild!!! i mean, it wont kill us to have more than one page of threads, will it?? paladin140 dersephy hey, um overlord type people?? yeah, thought here, how about not deleting threads so we are able to go back and ponder on past threads, the fun threads that will forever be remebered in the lore of this guild!!! i mean, it wont kill us to have more than one page of threads, will it?? The only reason that we were deleting threads was to keep the guild less cluttered. I guess if it gets to be a problem we could fix it later - Lets try keeping the threads instead of deleting them, and that way we don't have to worry about the issue of wanting things stickied so they aren't deleted. Perhaps we should just have the Introductions and Standards threads stickied.... dersephy i think imortant guild stuff like the guild house should be stickied, the other stuff just keep it there and let people visit those threads as they wish paladin140 While I agree with dersephy, I need to make sure that I get the voice of the people of the guild. For now, we will just not delete any threads, until this issue is solved. DarkFires I think since the Announcements should be for import guild stuff and the stickies for not as important stuff. And the birthday thread, I think its good to be able to find out when someones birthday is coming up, but I'm not sure if its best in a sticky or just a normal thread. oogie_boogie888 I personaly think there is too many of both. It does get kinda cluttered with to many threads, and tends to get hard to find the topic you were at if you accidently clicked out of it. Yet, I think that we should make some of the "not so important" stickies out, make them threads perhaps? DarkFires oogie_boogie888 I personaly think there is too many of both. Yet, I think that we should make some of the "not so important" stickies out, make them threads perhaps? I agree that the not so important stickies should become normal threads. Ethena_Cursed Angel I find that we may be able to condense both the stickies and the threads into larger more broad catagories such as Gospel, Music, Games, etc. Since those seem to be the main topics in this guild I would suggest it...the only threads I would say leave as they are would be the temporary dances, the guild house, and the Articles of Faith thread. Reiji we have a lot of stickies, but it's better that they are stickies rather than normal threads (most of them anyways). Such as stickies about advertising and cool links, those should be stickies so you can find them easier. End of Page1 JoshtheEvergreen Go through and delete every double thread. and the stuff that hasn't been talked on for more than a week, and... get rid of the stickies that have no purpose or aren't used. KittenFreak1986 This is my opinion: Keep some of them, like the introduction thread, and the list of birthdays.. And possibly some others. I just don't like scrolling down half a page to find a thread. paladin140 Heres what I am going to do: I'm going to change some of the stickies to normal threads, and delete threads that aren't being used anymore ( Such as the "go to the dance with me" threads. paladin140 okay, sometime in the near future Termas, Smurf and I will be doing the following, keeping in touch as to what threads should go where. 1. We will be making several "Memorable Threads" using one of the original threads of that topic with an updated name. Similar threads that are no longer used would be copied and posted into that topic, vastly reducing the number of threads Mahia M Personally, I think we should put several of the stickies as normal thread, and delete older ones. Also, I think we need to delete announcements more often. Like the Valentine's Dance Announcement . . . *shrugs* Hikarikyokai Hildie Maxwell I find that we may be able to condense both the stickies and the threads into larger more broad catagories such as Gospel, Music, Games, etc. Since those seem to be the main topics in this guild I would suggest it...the only threads I would say leave as they are would be the temporary dances, the guild house, and the Articles of Faith thread. I like Hildie's game plan, as well as Paladin's. Condense the threads that can be condensed, delet threads that aren't too recent and are unused, However, there is the topic of the Birthdays thread. I know cans might be thrown at my head, but birthdays are important, and alot of us forget or don't know when it's someone's birthday. The thread about where people post their birthdays, I think it should be an announcement. Higher up on the page, you know? New members would see it and then be able to post their birthdays so we can celebrate them. The 'Happy Birthday' threads should be stickies, and then after about a week, or once everybodies birthdays have been passed for that month or thread, it shoud be deleted. That's my opinion. paladin140 Okay, I've made a plan that I will be announcing sometime next week ( I'm still trying to catch up on guild administration work ) It took me a few hours because I tried to include everyones opinions. Mahia M To sticky, or not to sticky: that is the question: Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer The end of a thread of outrageous import, Or to take arms against a sea of stickies, And by opposing end them? To let fall, the stickies; No more; and by a fall to say we end The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks That posts are heir to, 'tis a consummation Devoutly to be wish'd. To let fall, the stickes; To fall: perchance to post: ay, there's the rub; For in that fall of threads what posts may come When we have shuffled off this cyber coil, Must give us pause: there's the respect That makes calamity of so long threads; For who would bear the whips and scorns of flames, The moderater's wrong, the proud Gaian's contumely, The pangs of despised grammer, the crew's delay, The insolence of Captains and the spurns That patient merit of th' unworthy takes, When he himself might his sticky make With a mere keyboard? who would fardels bear, To grunt and sweat under a weary thread, But that dread of something after the fall, The undiscover'd country from whose bourn No topic returns, puzzles the will And makes us rather bear those ills we have Than fly to others that we know not of? Thus conscience does make cowards of us all; And thus the native hue of resolution Is sicklied o'er with the pale cast of thought, And Gaian events of great pitch and moment With this regard their currents turn awry, And lose the name of action.-- Soft you now! The fair Lanzer! Imp, in thy schemings Be all my posts remember'd. Kishkumen_77 It comes down to, most of these can be put in the normal threads and if we need to find them we can look for them. funtoys i think that we should get rid of the not so important ones and make a note saying dont delete... then we'll be happy... and we wont have so much space taken up by stickies. Concering inactive membersphoenix_echo what do you think we should do about them? should we pm them to see if they'll come? do you think someone should stalk them to see how much they get on? is there any point in them belonging to a guild they never really help out in? look at me and the rose guild thing that gwyn's in... i'm never there, i'm always here, and i never post or whatever there, and so on... sooo... just as opinions, what do you think we should do? i'm just curious because i was looking through the member thing and there are quite a few people who haven't even posted once... tell me your thoughts! Naphtalia I think someone should really contact them and ask them if they still want to be in the guild and if there is no reply check when the last time they were on and if it was a while ago drop them because if they really want back in they can reapply. And some may just have a hard time accessing the net like me I'm not on Friday through Sunday, however, a pm and checking their last log in date would be a good thing to look into. Not trying to be mean or anything. Glimare Naphtalia I think someone should really contact them and ask them if they still want to be in the guild and if there is no reply check when the last time they were on and if it was a while ago drop them because if they really want back in they can reapply. Not trying to be mean or anything. Amen to that! phoenix_echo true, however, read my entire post, if you will. i wasn't saying kick them out, i was saying this thread is open to ideas as to what we should do, that being one of them. Perhaps you would like to volunteer to pm them?Furthermore, i'm not God, i'm Sam, so don't expect me or anyone else to be perfect when you yourself are not. i know that's not what you meant, but i'm replying to you the same way you replied to me, Red. Don't talk to me about excommunication, either, especially considering i was almost excommunicated even before i was born because i'm a love child, i was born out of wedlock. My mother was also almost excommunicated, but then she wasn't, but has fallen away, anyway. No further comments, your honor. [RED]Kooler i wasnt meaning it to sound harsh... Harls In the Linkin Park Guild, their policy is to post once a week or be banned. HOWEVER, if you infrom the staff of some sort of issue (computer problems, grounded, etc.) before that (they have an entire thread dedicated for warning of such causes), then you are pardoned. This ensures that everyone posts at least once in a week. I dunno if it would work here or not, but it's just an idea... Pygosceles Maybe if we could play volleyball or have a pizza party electronically... Technology daydream here. domokun Actually, I think real life takes precedence over virtual communication. Still, it's nice to have this guild to come to. Tiancum I Actually have friends in the guild that don't post because they either; don't have anything to say, or they think the guild moves to fast/slow for their taste. They still want to be in it, I say let them stay, who cares how many members we have? it makes us seem more..uhh...better if we have more. Leave them be. funtoys sorry... i make it move too fast... sweatdrop ConcreteAngel Sorry guys sweatdrop I'm a little behind on that. I will hopefully be starting it within the week. If anyone would like to help pm me please. Plan: I'll write down all the inactive member names. Then I'll look at all their profiles, see which ones have come online recently. Then pm them and take the others off the list. [RED]Kooler but what if they read everything but dont post...... Dragonwarrior_Keltyr ConcreteAngel Sorry guys sweatdrop I'm a little behind on that.
