I myself have accounts for my dogs on Dogster, but I was wondering what you all thought of the site?
They have different forums to discuss different things, but it seems to me that some of the dog owners on the site feel a strong pull towards their opinion, not necessarily facts.
At any event I find it to be entertaining and was also wondering if anyone else had accounts for their dogs?

That's really neat. I've never heard of the site, but I'll be sure to check it out.
EDIT: I created accounts for my dogs, but after looking around on the forums, I think I agree with you--there is a definite feeling of 'no argument, no debate, no discussion that might hurt anyone's feelings at all.' (The thread asking 'what should I not talk about' was a big red flag.) I don't know the site too well, but my gut feeling is that it's not open to critiscm of any kind.

I have accounts for my cats on Catster... But I don't really like the forums, and you can't leave comments on the cat's pages you visit. I haven't been there in a while.

I've been on Dogster since pretty close to the beginning, but I don't really spend much time on the forums...they're a relatively new part of the site. I'm not terribly surprised they're not big on heated debate, though -- it started out more as just a cute little dog-photo-and-bio sort of thing, and I guess they're trying to keep the light-and-fun atmosphere in the newer features.

Peopel do debate on the Dogster forums. It's just that if people go from debating the topic to insulting/attacking other members then the thread gets shut down... I've seen long debates there on dog foods, cropping/docking, breed bans, training methods, why people give up dogs, and so on... Here is my Golden: http://www.dogster.com/dogs/23661
