does anybody else notice how all the idiots in society (classmates)
all seem to think that people with glasses are intelligent?
and now when "those of social exceptance", get glasses they are now the supreme dungeon master of the chess club!

In my school alot of the smartest people wear contacts. the streotype holds true for me, but i realy dont think about it, it does'nt seem important to me. Besides, if they want to belive im smart for reasons other than my actual intellegnce, why tell them otherwise. I realy am an intteligent dungeons and dragons ect. type guy.

social society discriminates automatically, you yourself could say you are free from descrimination, but you'd be lying. Everyone discriminates in some way or another. It's a lack of understanding in this world. Just sit there and laugh.

People tell me that if you wear glasses, you're smart. Then I tell them that if you wear glasses, you have problems with your eyesight.
I would really like to know how the stereotype started.

sweetnightmare People tell me that if you wear glasses, you're smart. Then I tell them that if you wear glasses, you have problems with your eyesight. I would really like to know how the stereotype started. perhapes back in the day, only the well off could aford glasses and since only the privleged could go to school, the fact that you had glasses ment you were smart. Or perhapes since glasses cost as much as they did, parents didnt want their children wearing them when they played out side, becuase they might break. But without their glasses the children did terribly in outside activities, so they stayed inside and read alot instead.

Hmm...I just got mine today. I haven't had glasses before so I don't really know of the sterotype but I'm sure that I'll be getting it soon enough.

well basically anyone quiet or reserved is generally considered smart and snobby xd

I used to have glasses back in elementary school. I looked like such a nerd, so I ditched the glasses (no contacts even confused ) and now I'm just one of those long hair teens adults love to hate. I still havent gotten away from my classmates calling me smart though, as if it were some kind of insult. Even the ones who dont know I wore glasses.
