I really, REALLY want to see Unloved come back and play her, but I'm pretty sure that Anya and the others didn't just do this without at least PMing Unloved or something.)) The last time I spoke to Unloved myself was in October when I did the art for the Hallowe'en bash so Youko is correct there. This isnt something Anya has decided to do a whim...she doesnt think they should be just 'abandoned' (and no im not including Shina in any of this because I know that Eirnae has had difficulties returning to us ). Its always going to be tricky seeing existing and older Fa'e going to someone else but if they havent been roleplayed in so long then I believe that its the right thing to do This of course only happens when the Guardian is absent for a very great deal of time without any word as to when they are to return - it doesnt happen if people get attacked by RL and disappear for a month or so )) Neith-Kia ((My only problem with it is that if one of the guardians is in RL contact with another, it's a good idea to ask them to contact them. ^^ Eirnae's vanished. We can't find her at all, and her address was wrong. It's like she's dissapeared into thin air. @_@ But at least we know Unloved hasn't vanished? ^^ Oh! And what about Unloved's kyrunu? Eirnae got an entry in september last with a reserve post, and last rped Shina at the halloween party on the 2nd of November. And Akinas only taking over as a 'temp guardian'. Okay I understand cable troubles can keep someone away, but it can be resolved quite quickly, month at the most. But its obviously developed into a 'RL problem'

My opinion )) Draconayzia As Sayuri sadi, these decisions were not made lightly. There has been a lot of effort to contact these people outside of the PM system and have recieved no response. Overall it is Anya's decision. There was no warning of leaving and not attempts to get in contact with the HQ. (excluding Eirnae here since there are conditions to that situation). She managed to get on long enough to say that she was having cable problems, and that she likely wouldn't be on again for quite some time. When Gun left, she said she was leaving 'for a bit' and no one's heard anything since, as far as I know. AGAIN... this is not a snap decision. This was not something that Anya and the Sheriffs woke up one morning and thought up on a whim. There have been repeated attempts to contact each of the people in question, with no results.)) Kamiki ((This isn't the first time Smoke left either. Things started getting busy and tough for her IRL long before she left for good. She came on less and less...then left for about 2-3 months. She came back just in time to say "Don't take Morion, please", RPed hom for about a week, then the same thing happened... she just couldn't keep up with Gaia with all the RL stuff thats been going on. So, except of the rare and occasional post, Smokes been gone longer than Eirnae.
And Eirnae has SAID she will come back when she can. She's made limited contact with a few Fa'e owners. We KNOW why she's gone - she simply doesn't have net access from my understanding.
Smoke is a grown woman, with a husband, a house, a job... Gaia just doesn't have a place in her life right now.)) Jiora {{~peers~ I agree with the decisions made, personally. Especially the one concerning Shina. It'll be good to see her played again and know that Eirnae will still get her back when she's able to return. Gaurdians have the oppurtunity to have their fa'e die if they can no longer play them and want to leave Gaia. But if they just leave without warning, the general consensus is that the fa'e should go to someone else so that they development and art isn't just all gone to waste. There certainly isn't a drought on people wanting a fa'e :3
Plus- it hurts Anya when fa'e are just abandoned. She puts a LOT of effort into each one.
Again, no matter whats going on IRL, in most cases it wouldn't take more than a few minutes to contact someone. If you're life is too busy to do that.... then all we can assume is that you've moved on.))

Okey - my few cents:
First of all - Smoke being back, again? Tha'ts great, but, like ... couldn't she have kindly told me that? I have no clue ...
Also - why I let Kamiki pick - as in the case with Rune and with Ghlyssa, I let the Guardians who's fa'e interacted with that fa'e the most pick who they want as a replacement. Kamiki knows she can RP well with Britain and that Britain. If Smoke shows up, I do not see the problem of Britain and Smoke being co-guardians. But Morion needs to be either Rped ... or vanish.
As for Dawna - if you guys think that we shoudl wait - fine ... but the STORY of the fa'e is that they VANISH if they are not being taken care of by their Guardian. I have been really lenient about how long it takes for the fa'e to vanish, but you know ... Dawna and Morion are up there ...

Smoke never told me she'd be back after her initial leaving.
Here's a timeline, for those that don't know. Smoke used to be on ALL THE TIME. Then she quit her job that she HATED and got a new one. She liked it, but she rarely had time for Gaia. So she started coming on a couple times a week. Then once a week. Then once every other week...
Then Prom came. Morion and Purr were RIGHT in the middle of a very important RP and she left to go to bed. That was the last I heard from her in WEEKS.
I tried contacting her, PMing her. She would read my PMs, but never responded. It was at least 2 months, I think more like 3-4 before she came back.
She came back and said that RL was kicking her in the a**, and said she would find a new home for Morion. But after everyone clamoured about how much they missed Smoke, she decided to keep Morion. She RPed him on and off for maybe two weeks... then she dissapeared again.
Since then, which was in NOV, there has been NO contact that I know of. She logs in occasionally it looks like, but her last post was November 11. She doesn't respond to PMs. She never comes in AIM.
On which, I might add, she has a journal entry that says:Quote: You know what? Being with the Fa'e is just starting to piss me off. I wish we could all go back to being happy, the way we used to be. Nowadays I can't even visit the HQ without seeing about twenty billion people I don't know, and getting drug into the latest soap opera or OOC drama. You know what? I'm SICK of the ******** drama, people. ******** drop it, already. I have enough drama in real life. I don't really care if you're busy tearing into each other, but DON'T come to me and expect me to take sides. I don't want to be on anyone's side; just leave me out of it. Yes, I'm pissed off. ********. You have a problem with that, go read someone else's happy-fluffy journal.
Unless her situation has changed drastically, Smoke doesn't have time in her life for Gaia

This is what I mean by no one pays attention to post. I posted this back at the end of Dec. Update on Smoke.I'm the only one able to get into contact with her. The last time I talk to her was in March, but no one asked me if I heard from her. But no one notice either that I said I would keep people up to date on what going on with Smoke. Guy real life kicking her a** hard. And everyone say she vanish, if she on your buddylist with gaia you see the last time she was on was March 24. And Kamiki I love you girl, but that post you took. That was over a fight between me and Neith, she didn't want to choose sides between two of her friends. Notice was given people. it was given by me, because she asked me. But again no one cared what I posted, and I also posted the message here in the guild, but that thread disappeared. I'm not going against Brit, I love Brit, she an awesome girl. I'm trying to save face for Smoke. Because everyone taking her appart but no one knows the facts. Kamiki hun if you want to know the conversation between me and smoke you know how to reach me. Oh Anya, she wasn't talking to anyone at the time. Just me. I didn't want to post because I know no one would noticed or cared. I get by passed all the time, you can say its being a drama queen, but its true. She asked me not to tell people she was talking to me. She asked me not to tell anyone in fa'e. Because she knew everyone would be pming her.

i don't want to get yelled at, but i am a little concerned.
why hasn't smoke talked to anya? i realize she and krista are friends but why only tell krista what's going on? anya needs to know this information... and posts in the guild re: hiatuses help too. it takes a second...
(krista, i do remember you posting that. but still we haven't seen her in 4 months... that's a LONG time without even a 'hi!')

Well, I totally agree with the decision to place Fa'e with people whom the guardian or Fa'e has interacted with. n_n (Congrats to Brit!)
I don't know anything about Smoke or her situation, but if she hasn't conacted Anya, then... I dunno. I don't think my opinion matters much since I'm not a guardian myself. n_n (This is not meant to be whiney or anything.)
If I knew Smoke, I'd have more of a concrete opinion, but if she hasn't contacted Anya, then I think Morion should be placed with someone else. I feel bad for her, though, since RL is kicking her butt. But maybe she'll come back real soon and everything will be okay?

I KNOW real life kicked her hard. I care about Smoke. The reason I pointed out this if because real life is kicking her so hard, Gaia doesn't need to be a priority to her. (and it doesn't change the fact that she showed no deire to come around Fa'e HQ)
As Brina says, why hasn't Smoke contacted Anya? Anyone? I've tried to get in contact with her MULTIPLE TIMES, but just because of Morion, but because of HER. She NEVER responded to me.
I don't know if you know that I wanted KILL OFF Purrpurr when Smoke left. Morion leaving basically destroyed all desire I had for her.
She said she was coming back once, and that didn't last very long.

So I am by no means blaming Smoke for not being here. Real life is real life and it tends to be busy. In fact, I realy like Smoke and I miss her. But I also like Kamiki, and her character has been stuck in limbo for the past 6 months, more or less. I also like the guardians of Raeith and Mordath and Silver and all the others who have RPed with Smoke and had their plotlines with Morion either dropped or left incomplete. Finally, I like Morion. The HQ rules clearly state that it's the responcibility of the Guardians to maintain the diaries. If the diary is not updated the character is dead. And I don't want Morion to vanish so we have found him a new Guardian, okey?
Same goes for Unloved and Dawna.
Also, just to point out - basically the rest of the RP pet threads have a 1 month limit on not updating the diary. If you do not update you are out. In the case of Dawna it's been 5 months and in the case of Morion - 4 months (which is really only one post there, the rest of the posts are from october). I think fae HQ has been more then lenient about this ...

Ok, I've got to add my bit here.
I agree with Krista that this is getting amore than a bit bashing of Smoke. honestly I did not see the decision to give him a new (co)guardian as bad, but rather as a kind of blessing. Smoke has enough stress in her life without worrying about what will happen to a dear character of her's. She knows Brit, and as a whole, the fa'e community knows her.
I was one of those people who asked Smoke to stay all those months ago. Right now I'm feeling kinda crappy for it though, as it seems to hve encouraged a ton of drama. The idea was to make it so the character she helped create live on. She tried to find a new home for him before and we badgered her into staying. It's stress she didn't need so let's sit back and take a deep breath and remember that Smoke is still a part of the community if/when she returns. I know I'll make sure to say hello and welcome her back if/when she does.

Not to act like I know the whole story... but, just as an observer, this is my thoughts on the situation with Morion.
If, as Krista said, Smoke has been around to speak with her, but has avoided the HQ due to pressure issues - is it therefore not fair to let the pressure hang in the air? The Fa'e aren't supposed to be stressful, they're supposed to be something fun. If someone is no longer able to keep up with their Fa'e, and does not take the responsibility to at least keep Anya updated, then it seems like it's time to remove the Fa'e from their possession. This is *not* something to do out of spite or frusteration. It is all right for them not to act according to the commitment that the Fa'e entail, because that's not the most important thing in the world. But, rather than letting the fact that they should be responsible for it hang over them, it seems better to just remove the entire mess from their jurisdiction, and let them get on with their lives.
This does not mean that Smoke would be excluded from the Fa'e. She should still be welcomed around the HQ - considering that she no longer has this pressure on her, she might actually drop by and say hello. If she gets things together, then it would be reasonable to offer her co-guardianship of Morion once more; or, let her quest for a new Fa'e altogether, and start fresh. This isn't the end of things, it's just a continuation. It's getting Morion back into the scheme of things, and letting Smoke make a decision as to whether she wants (or, really, can afford) to get involved with the Fa'e once more at a later date. It involves a brand new person with the Fa'e, which will influx the community with new ideas and creativity. All in all, it seems as if nothing but good can come from giving Morion a new Guardian; and, letting things remain the way they are will clearly serve no one, and just allow further resentment to grow.

I don't see anyone bashing Smoke here. I see people concerned that she hasn't been around, and concerned that the plotlines that were started months ago won't be able to continue unless Morion gets a new guardian.
As a matter of fact, most everyone has flat out said that they completely understand about RL hitting hard. It happens to all of us. However, if a Fa'e is untouched for months, I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for some kind of contact. Contacting one person is fine, but in this case, she SHOULD have contacted Anya. Even if RL is an issue, it only takes a few seconds to log onto Gaia and send a PM saying "This is what's going on, and this is when I THINK I'll be back." If things change, send another PM.
I've always enjoyed talking with Gunsmoke, I knew her back when I first started on Gaia. Yes, I hope she comes back and that RL lets go of its stranglehold. However, Morion is needed NOW and has been for quite some time. No one's saying that Gunsmoke is a bad person or saying anything negative about her at all, other than the fact that she just hasn't been here.
As was already mentioned, in MOST rp-intensive shops, the rule is that if you don't post for one month, you get a warning. At the second month, the 'pet' is taken away. In waiting this long and trying repeatedly to contact the guardians in question, I think Anya has been MORE THAN FAIR.
It would be a different story if there was no attempt made to make contact, and they just said "Oh well, let's find new homes for them!" But that's not what happened here. This has also been a possibility for a while now, even I knew it was likely coming, and wasn't surprised. If the people in question have been in contact with others so often, why couldn't they have taken that brief moment to send a PM... or have someone ELSE PM Anya instead? Saying it in the thread is all well and good, but have you TRIED to keep up with the thread lately?
I gave up. I go back a couple of pages if things look interesting, otherwise I just chalk it up to fourteen pages that I missed.
