Because the Lite is pretty much better than the original in many ways.
Power button moved: i sometimes mistook it for the pause button...and turned my game off. =(
Smaller: Pocket sized!
Pause and select button moved: its just moch more convienent in there current spots now.
I would get one but after getting 2 DS's already I doubt ill be able to get a new one...

No its the fact that my mom,who had no interest in video games and such, got a ds lite when i wanted one. I think she just did that to shove it in my face =(

start demanding a DS lite. I would if my mother got one before I did. I'd be all over the DS if I wasnt so loyal to my GBA SP.

My friend had a DS, then traded it in for a DS Lite when that first came out. He then used the warrenty on that to exchange it for a Black DS Lite.
The only bad thing about the Black one is, it smudges like no tomorrow. Not a big deal, but kinda' annoying if you're a clean freak about you're ish.

still looks cool though, I like this new DS lite. I wonder if it comes in other colors. ^_^ I forget easily, but I've been working on a sprite comic, so my mind gets on other things. razz
